Can you maybe post the setting numbers of your eq as well? It might be easier than having to copy of the screen. I've been using soundcore p3 for a while and I love them
I recently took advantage of the Amazon Prime deals, and picked myself up a set of Soundcore Life A1's... Being a bit of an 'Audiophile' so to speak and thus preferring to use wired and over ear headphones, it was my first venture into 'Ear buds' since I was using a cassette walkman MAAAAAAANY moons a go (I then went onto Minidisc players... And being a bit dubious about sound quality, I decided to just go budget price initially... And, after watching a few reviews, yup, these 'Life A1's? Bloody 'ell! They are actually pretty darned good for the price! (£25) - 9Hours play time plus another 26 hours charge in the case, 3 built in sound modes in the buds, IPX7, supports single bud audio, wireless/USB C charging and more.. I went for the Life A1's as earbuds tend to fall out whilst working under my car, hence going for something 'With Wings' (lol 😉). I DID have a little fiddle about swapping the silicone tips and wings to get best fit, but, for what they cost, yeah, colour me impressed! So, maybe, I might just go bigger in price with some Sennheiser/Bose/Sony's etc (WILL NEVER BUY APPLE). I only bought these earbuds for sort of everyday p!ssing about, working on my car, going shopping etc, as my 'Proper' listening is done at home with any of my other proper cans (Meze 99 Neo, Sennheiser HD600/PXC550-II (still pretty good for wireless/BT), Sony MDR7506 and a coupla others... So yeah, IF, you can't even afford £/$100 but do still want a good earbud setup, I CAN recommend the Life A1 by Soundcore. Seems like Anker know what they're doing building budget/reasonably priced, but great sounding, feature rich 'Ear wonders' 👍😊 😎🇬🇧
Finally a proper tech review that's not feels like the 10th time watching the same video just by a different person. This was entertaining while at the same time having a lot of information.
I was already tempted to buy this pair buds, because of some other reviews I've seen on some websites, but shall I say I was surprised with you, this was one of, if not the most entertaining review I have ever seen of anything almost really (I have seen some reviews of everything and anything, tech or not), I could say it was fun enough I couldn't get bored of it, your humour combined with your knowledge and at the same time, humbleness to recognize you don't know it all, subscribed. And if I ever need some tech reviews, I will for sure com to you, to see if you already done it, cheers!!!
Fantastic show so with that said, I'm happily subscribed now..... the buds themselves, I ordered them same day on Amazon yesterday and delivered in the afternoon. Honestly, I was obviously hoping for the best but the story here is that these buds are simply amazing and far exceed anything I kinda expected. The buds, the app and just the overall quality in the experience blows right by the price point and puts it in much higher company. Great video & outstanding product, sincere thanks!
Great video. However would be good to reference against the Bose Quietcomfort 2, sony wf-1000xm4 and AirPods Pro 2 because you mention these are better than all other earbuds but surely not these more premium ones?
I bought both the Status Between 3ANC and Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II, I really wanted to like the Status, but after trying the both, I liked the bass better on the Bose, and also found the noise cancelling was better, and found the Bose to be much more comfortable and better fitment, let me know what you think, if you own or plan on getting.... great vid as always..

Excellent job + review! ...even when your hands are full! If we put items in our wishlist do you still get credit once we decide to purchase or is there a time limit?
Really great review Paul, I'm constantly amazed at how 💩 most ear buds are and how brutally expensive the market is and the fact you cannot try these out totally screws the consumer. Soundcore do make some great products so when my current buds die, these will be on my shopping list. Keep up the good work sir 👍👍👌👌
@@simonf9121 Even pre COVID we were not usually allowed to try ear buds due to cleanliness/ health issues. I can understand that. I don't like the fact that a lot of the buds are substandard and most people don't send stuff back if not happy.
I got the Jabra Elite 85t, because the guy in the store said they are better than the Sony ones at the same price. 185 Euros for the garbage! They hurt after wearing them for more than 30 minutes. Not like cheese, but giving me red spots after wearing them too long. They are also very sensitive to other BT signals. Passing by shops selling mobile devices or visiting shops with high amount of electronic security in general, the headphones don't keep connection. Sometimes even on public streetlights where they are probably using emitters on the same or close frequency. Cheap BT headphones up to 50 or 60 Euros never had a problem with this. Hope this helps anyone...
I hope you didn't see them on Prime day at a discount and miss the chance! They're worth their full price tag, but if you can get them even cheaper then they would blow your mind!
@@paulhibbert saw them about a week before when Anker did their direct pre-prime day sale. Thought about it but couldn’t find any decent reviews at the time so I didn’t bite.
@paulhibbert Forgot to update this post. I ended up buying some with a bit of a discount direct from Anker. Really pleased with them! If you’re a iPhone only user getting them to support HiFi audio codecs for laptop connectivity requires an android device to enable, which is a bit of a pain. It’s also worth noting that this disables multipoint audio capability. Sound quality is amazing. Build quality is very good, though they don’t feel quite as premium in the hand as the AirPods Pro. Base is good. Noise cancelling is also very good though harsher than AirPods Pro. Over all, very very happy with these! They pair very well (both over Bluetooth and visually) with my blue Lenovo Yogabook 9i. The biggest gripe over all is not anything to do with the buds or Anker, but actually for the fairly crappy implementation of Bluetooth across Windows devices. Most devices and Bluetooth stacks don’t support the LDAC HiFi audio codec which renders these no better than regular earbuds. You need to buy the Alternative A2DP driver from www.bluetoothgoodies.com/a2dp/ if your Bluetooth stack doesn’t support LDAC.
I bought the Liberty 4NC's and can confirm they are a great performer and a bargain for the price. On a commercial airliner, the automatic noise cancellation was amazing, removing the sounds of crying babies, screaming children, and fighting passengers. The only thing they couldn't do was stop the little twat seated behind me from kicking my seat for four hours!
glad to see they've got rid of the sliding lid on the case. Had a pair about 1.5-2years ago, amazing sound but the case was constantly coming open in my pocket and bag.
Same but not having ANC and having the left bud failing to charge often... I'm planning to buy new ones. However, I'm still undecided between these and the normal Liberty 4. I can get those for 100 and the NC's for 80, so there isn't much price difference
I really love your videos man! Didn't even need or am interested on a new buds, but this is pure joy with the bonus of having some tech news! Congrats!
Same here I have not even heard of Sound core before I seen this video. Looks like it JUST WOOORRRKKKKKSSSS!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 When I’m in the market for a new pair of buds I’ll looks these up. I only have one pair of buds and have had them for years lol. Thanks for the morning laughs great video!!!!
PMSL that last clip of you head banging, one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time 😂🤣😂🤣 Ps great review by the way Paul, as always. Keep up the great work 💪👍
Paul, I've been picking up a couple YoLink devices for temperatures, humidity and gate sensors. I'd love to get more, would you do a YoLink special for several of their devices? We love your show!
I do like these, for a cheap pair of TWS buds, and the sound is pretty good. But, the tips are uncomfortable, and make my ears hurt - and Anker have decided to go with a stupid square hole design so you can't just swap them out with some nice third party foam tips, or Spinrites, or, well, just anything that would be better than these tips. So these will sadly have to live in a drawer until someone makes better tips for them.
I love the soundcore pro earbuds. After buying beats, galaxy buds , a couple others they got returned and I bought the first edition of soundcore pro. Loved them I bought 2 edition, and the 3rd edition. I did not buy 4 because they changed them to the stick like air pods ! I don't think I want something sticking out and hanging dw my ear . I would of also bought the new sleep a20 but they don't have anc .
I got similarly speced Donner earbuds for $50. I am having the same experiences with them as you describe with these. Granted I am a little older and my hearing is probably not as good as yours, but I'd be curious to know what you think about the Donnors.
My Sony WF-1000MX4 buds are a getting a bit worn out and can barely make it through a work day now. These look like the perfect replacements. Ordered through your link! 👍
Great review as usual Paul, I have a set of the libery air 2 Pro which are in my opinion very good. They have a feature to set up the eq for each ear bud individually as most peoples left and right ears perceive sound differently... Do these new ones also have this feature ?
The problem I have with earbuds is that they all work themselves out of my ears. Despite me changing the earplug sizes to no avail. However I have the Spirit X2's since the earhooks keep them from just falling on the floor. Now if only they too had ANC featured, it would have been a nice upgrade from basic earbuds.
I have the same issue. I think my ears move too much when I laugh, talk, eat, etc. But no tips ever feel quite right either, so I've considered custom moldable ones for years, but they are often headphones only. I saw one that works with air pods, but ew, air pods.
Don't care what the manufacturers claim you can't beat a good set of over the ear headphones. They sound better and you don't run the risk of losing one because you scratched your ear and one fell out! I've lost count of the number of people while at work at my local shopping centre who asked for help sometimes in a panic and sometimes actually crying because they've lost one of their ridiculously expensive ear buds! You don't get that with over the ear stuff.
I'll admit that I'm no audiophile. I can hear down to about 17Hrz and up to 24KHz (which is pretty amazing on my fast-approaching-septuagenarian OEM ears) however, I lack much of the aesthetic capacity to judge all that sound I can hear. So, I have to trust people who have that capacity such as yourself. (This is a somewhat long-winded way of saying "Thanks for doing the review") I can, however, judge that the sound in my own Soundcore buds is not muddled and sounding like apian flatulence. I can also judge that the battery life is quite good and more than adequate for my needs. So in that I agree with your assessments. The other thing that I like about the Soundcore products is that they're not priced so high that when I certain significant other of mine looses one in the garden, I can be a bit philosophical about replacing it. Thanks for your review. Fun and informative as always. P.S. I did appreciate your anticipating a few of your likely comments and applying the appropriate rubber chicken to their face. Well done.
Most anc buds focus on cancelling out engine sounds as the priority, it is never 100% efficient and as these sounds tend toward the lower end of the spectrum, companies give the bass in your music a bit of a boost to help mask those sounds.
While I'm sure everything you say is true, one feature that the Amazon earbuds have that is pretty much exclusive is the ability to call on Alexa while on the move. Unless SoundCore manage this too?
You can start Alexa with a gesture, assuming your phone can set Alexa as the preferred voice assistant. But yeah, with the echo buds you can call her by name and I don't THINK you can do that here, it may depend on your phone because my Motorolla used to let you call Alexa by name.
Paul, check out the Oppo Enco X and X2 earbuds. Co-engineered with Dynaudio. If you want to hear impressive audio reproduction and unbelievable ANC, you will be amazed, and the Soundcore will become a distant memory. Check em out ASAP.
Good video. I have a very old pair of bluetooth earbuds by JLab, they refuse to die (after at least 4 years), but when they do, these seem like a very good replacement. 😍
I bought these because of a good deal on black friday and because of positive reviews. Well. For sound quality they put my google buds pro to shame as well as multiple jabra earbuds and headphones. They even beat out some proper iems. ANC seems great. The google pros are very good in that category also. The google pros beat them in most other categories and for touch controls, but the sound out of the soundcores is mindblowing for the price, especially ising your tuning!
i have the soundcore A40s which are reportedly slightly better than the Liberty 4s (the 4 NCs tested here seem to be an improved model over the 4s). the liberty definitely seems to have a fancier case and a more feature rich companion app. i have never used the ANC feature and i find the pass trough mode distorting voice too much. battery life is ridiculously long (still on my first charge after almost 2 months). i still very much prefer my old wired aliexpress earphones as they sound better and are more comfortable to wear
SoundCore deliver value across most of their range so this is more of a complaint of this sector as a whole. But how have we gotten to a place where we spend a not insignificant amount of money on tech that ends up in land fill sooner rather than later? Unless you can replace the battery easily?
The way we burn through tech these days is frightening, I agree. I can't remember the last time I burnt out the battery of a pair of earbuds though to be fair, I think I still have some in my drawer from 10 years ago that I could charge up and use 👍
so when are you going to get a set of the Raycon buds , they are all over YT and need testing. are they as good as the sponsored influencer would lead you to believe.
Yep tech does improve and no they obviously were not the best sounding but Paul thought they were... Now go buy the ones he currently says are the best sounding...
I think you got your math wrong a little. 6.5 to 10 is 3.5 :). Aside from that, great video. I have always loved the Soundcore range. These new buds look just as amazing as the previous ones in the range.
I've used a lot of earbuds the last few years.and to be honest, the souncores are the best for music! Just recently got the Sony linkbuds s.for sound quality you have to Tweak them a lot,bit the anc is just unmatched. Especially for calling.i work in an environment which has a lot of noice.the caller can hear me as if i was in the office.but the sound quality does't come close as the soundcore.it's choosing between wat's best suits your situation. Hope this helps
Do you want to say that calls on Sony LinkBuds S are better? I am having the them as well but I am dissapointed since the ANC is not working when I am in the call and sidetone is constantly running that makes that I can't hear person in the call as I am interrupted by the noise outside? I also hear some white noise as soon as I start the call...I am not really impressed with the microphone quality of Sony LinkBuds. Are you earbuds beahving the same as mine?
The new Echo Buds are kind of a joke to me. They're inferior in almost every way to the previous ones. No noise cancelling and an open ear design. Bah.
Hello very nice review. I just received my earbuds and I'm wondering where can i find your EQ settings with precise numbers to get the perfect right settings and get the most of these earbuds ? It seems to sound like the soundcore signature one but maybe more clear ? Thanks!
There’s a huge improvement with the Pro after upgrading from the original AirPods. From other reviews, the second gen Pro is supposedly a step up again, especially with respect to noise cancellation, but I’ve not had the chance to try them.

And on special offer at £54.99 you got more than a bargin
I bought Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 when you first reviewed them. I use them every day and they are still fantastic if a bit bulky. Keep up the good work!
IPX2? That’s basically protection from being in a normal atmosphere. Less than that and you shouldn’t even go outside with it. What were Amazon thinking?? The voice recording from the Soundcore was a bit flat, to be honest. But way better than the Gen 2 Amazon, which sounded very compressed. And the music playback on the Soundcore was vastly superior, too. I bet Neesha will love them!
Great review, Paul! Long-time viewer, first-time commenter 👶 I'm very much a fan of the Souncore line-up. I myself use the Soundcore Life P3s, which have slightly different controls. But they, too, are great 'buds. Question - did you _write_ and _perform_ that actual music? It sounds vaguely familiar...🎶
0:30 I've had the Galaxy Buds Live for almost 2 and a half years. This week I've got the Liberty 4 NC but as the Buds Live are pretty good in my opinion, I might return the Liberty 4 NC, even though they are also pretty good. I decided to purchase them for the ANC but if you don't want to hear a thing (noisy neighbours, in my case), you must get a pair of headphones. 3:23 "10 - 6.5 = 4.5" 🤔😄 9:30 The ANC is good but to say you can't hear a thing is a HUGE overkill.
Ah, sorry to hear that man! If I didn't think they might prove useful for future reviews I would send mine back, I really don't like the sound of them, and they feel chunky still.
@@paulhibbert The buds were at least free, and for my purposes of listening to podcasts, they are fine. Not too bad if I do listen to music while running either and I can hear traffic.
Does anyone know of an ANC sports earbud that has a wingtip to hook _inside_ my ears? Thus far I've tried Beats Fit Pro (painful), Echo Buds 2 (Frankenstein bolts) and Jaybird Vista 2 (connectivity issues) -- preferably under £150 thanks!
6:24 Paul slaps Jeff. Excellent! 6:42 Soundcore has better quality bass. I was waiting for you say Come On Down. The Price Is Right. 😂 8:32 Soundcore is definitely better.
Watched your review and ordered them to replace pixel buds pro. They arrived today and have spent about an hour trying to pair them work S23 Ultra. Won't work. They work fine with galaxy Tab S8????? Tried again and finally got them connected but can't be found using the soundcore app. They work but with limited functionality and unable to adjust the eq as you advised, sadly they are going back. Apparently I'm not the only one as I've discovered on reddit. 😮
I got my air pods pro in 2021 and they're giving me issues with like mic feedback making clicky sounds, and now the battery only lasts 4 hours at best before the earbud dies on me. I'm seriously considering the soundcores
The other day I was searching through TK Maxx's clearance area and low and behold there at the back of the rail was a Soundcore Note life 3 ear bud box. I remembered watching this video sometime back and the great review you gave to soundcore buds. These were £12 in clearance while Currys were still selling them for £107, which are very over priced. All I can say is thank you these are fantastic. I never thought I would get away with ear buds and to tell you the truth they were going to be a stepping stone to a more big brand pair if I could get away with them. Not any more these are for keeps!
In the Amazons, you can definitely hear the 3 kHz that is it dangerous dangerous frequencies to have a boost. Eddie Van Halen used to have a sign that said “No 3K”.that’s the reason. Kind of harsh.
You know what would be a good idea? An overlay on the waveform of the actual audio spectrum with the ear buds one. How do we know if the waveform is accurate to your audio without a reference? Sat night and a few rums in, I am watching this video with no interest in the ear buds but because I enjoy your videos, but the engineer comes out in me still (PS I secretly watch for cameos of wifey),
Not wishing to disparage Derek in any way but for me the most important part of getting the best sound out of any in ear phones is the seal on the tips. All these earpods rely on creating a reverb box in your ear to get the bass sound so holding the phones up to Dereks microphones is not going to give anything like the sound you hear when they're properly fitted. Also would be nice if you could include a detail that I never see covered - you demonstrated the sound from the microphone but recorded in your studio. I'd like to hear how they perform in a noisy environment - my wife banned me from using my Tronsmart Apollo phones which have good sound for the cost but the microphones pick up and amplify ambient noise on a call so that it's really intrusive. My replacements - Samsung galaxy buds2 are excellent in this and sound pretty good too to me even if you're not a fan.
I've got a pair of Liberty Pro Air 2's and I love the sound of them, but I find them to be the most fiddly of earbuds to wear. Never managed to get them to fit properly for more than half an hour at a time. Tried all of the various tips and just can't get them to stay in. I still keep going back to my very old Shure Se530's which is great while phones have 3.5mm plugs. A while back I picked up a cheap set of KZ IEM's with the bluetooth adaptor. They're fine audio wise., but very comfortable. My current go to bluetooth earbuds are Technics AZ60's. Really comfortable and they sound great especially with LDAC enabled. Recently stuck some Comply foam eartips on them. So comfy.
The question you've got to ask yourself when you're watching this review is why didn't he compare it to any of the other buds he mentioned? The answer is because all of the other ones are better. He had to compare it to the crappiest version in order to get a positive outcome. This review is rigged and skewed on purpose, to give you a result that Soundcore wants. Shady and untrustworthy dishonest review.
I'm actually starting to realise that only as I get older. I actually rarely wear earbuds ironically because I'm never in a position where I can't just blast my speakers. I tend to only use them once a year on a flight! This year I packed my google pixels because they're the most comfortable outside of the soundcores (which I had given away to Neesha and various family members) only to find they were dead and I had to borrow Neesha's Soundcores! 😂
@@paulhibbert I love your channel - it's my favourite on RU-vid as it always gives me a smile - even when I'm not specifically interested in the tech your reviewing. Keep up the good work.
Hi Paul, where did you get your metal gate value light from find it so amazing and had customers ask me being an electrician great work keep it liquid ❤
