My favorite thing about Charlie is that he looks like a stereotypical stoner skater dude who just plays video games all day and yet he is 100% one of the most intelligent and well informed people I’ve ever watched on the internet. He’s thoughtful and takes others arguments into consideration and if he doesn’t have a truly valid rebuttal he concedes the point. I really have mad respect for him even though I’ve only been watching his stuff for a few days.
Wouldn't say he's *exceptionally* smart, but he is smart enough to use the platform he has responsibly. That can't be said for like 99% of creators. Charlie clearly has a LOT of empathy, that really makes his points hit home. It's what makes it nice to watch him, I think.

So as a diabetic, it kinda irritates me how nobody brings up how high carb vegan food is, and how it spikes the fucking fuck out of your blood sugar to eat a diet like that. Just saying. It's really not a healthy diet for a diabetic at all.
"Everything has a cost, which is usually animal lives" is an incredibly good point, and one which does summarise some of the issues I have with SOME animal welfare groups - instead of guilt tripping as much, proposing alternatives which reduce that cost to animal lives without making the financial cost too great would be far more effective on me, at least. I cannot afford to pay 2-3 times as much for clothes made out of good will and happy thoughts, so blaming me for not taking that option is more irritating than anything (as Charlie said). My Sister is vegan for dietary reasons, and her cooking has made me far more open to moving towards vegetarian or vegan diets - because beforehand, my prior experience was that all vegan food tasted like crap. I also can't stand Eggplant and other similar common vegetarian options, so it really limited my options; she really has helped me see others, though. Provide affordable, accessible gateways to SLOWLY transition, because almost nobody will change overnight like flicking a switch. Even with my newer experiences, I still never think I could give up dairy products, because the vegan substitutes are beyond even my sister's ability to make edible.
Exactly, blind extremism doesn’t solve anything, I my self happen to be allergic to most vegan sources of protein, to the point that if I decided to become a full vegan and not eat anything animal related, I would not be able to eat vegan meat substitute or protein sources. I would most likely end up being malnourished. As such, I am prevented from being vegan due to dietary restrictions. Why should I be a vegan?
honestly i love meat and always will but switching to a vegan diet can sure help some animals but the solution to most human problems is war, bloody war with a hamburger on the sidelines waiting for you.

I watch Charlie for common sense takes to ease my mind throughout a day, but it’s super cool to see him break out his actual education chops. He’s really good at actual debate.
He actually talked for about 30 seconds on the cotton thing because someone called him out on it on the live stream. He tried to say his shirt wasn't cotton, then checked the tag, saw it was mostly cotton then said, and I quote, "I don't give a shit". Wow
Critical is just one of very very few people on RU-vid with some actual common sense and isn’t crazy with his beliefs, he’s just a really respectful human being who recognizes when something bad is happening in the community and actually does something to try and help fix it, wether that reaching out to the person causing trouble or making a video discussing it so others can get a different perspective and a better understanding of the situation. Though this is all just my opinion from watching some of his vids discussing problems in the community and trying to help fix them

13:29 I have to debunk you here. The majority of forest work is not deforestation, we cut down an era of forest that a land owner owns, the small trees become paper, and the big ones become planks. Then we replant with twice as many trees(by law here in Sweden), and the cycle begins. The vast majority of tree products are made this way, only a minority of it is from actual deforestation.
This may be true in Sweeden, however, in most parts of the world no company really follows that, look at the Amazon, they continue to cut it down, and do not replant trees

Humans have shorter colons than dogs and barley longer than cats. Which means we are less of herbivores than dogs. But the average American diet is 80 percent vegan (a big Mac meal is all bread, fries and soda. Mostly vegan). Yet when we got health problems we blame meat. Lul.

i was a meat eater and was slowly trying to turn vegan. and believe me , better turn vegan on your own instead of looking for support groups or mentioning it to other vegans. most vegans i have met only have tried to prove how they are a better vegan than me or how i am not vegan enough. being a vegan isnt easy honestly. giving up meat is one thing, but giving up milk products, honey and others is just a huge huge task. i was transitioning slowly but was really off put by this whole group with cultists kind of behavior. it really got to a point where it was really annoying and i even felt like i should never have started in the first place. finally, i have become a vegetarian. and have been a vegetarian for a year now. not every vegan person is crazy but i would say around 70% of them are. their belief and faith is so strong that they feel like harry potter, the chosen one, they are better than the others and even look down on people eating meat. it's insane! if some vegans are reading this, and they are in this category then please be supportive of people turning vegan or even vegetarian instead of pointing out how less vegan they are or worse how they are not vegan at all.

Yes & veganism is doctrinally flawed bc it's not the most sustainable or healthy diet. The best way for animals, humans & plants to live harmoniously is INTEGRATED AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS = farms with both plants + animals. My family's organic blueberry farms are like this. Farm workers' families live in coops on the farm land, where they hand-raise chickens, cows, goats & bees. Their children learn about the animals. The animals roam free with rotated grazing positions & barn shelter. They help pollenate the plants & fertilize the soil, thereby increasing crop yields. Honey, milk, eggs & other products produced by the animals are used in baked goods sold at the farm store. It's sustainable & humane & is the future

I am vegetarian for my own conscience, as I kan live without meat which will at least decrease the animals that must die for me living. However I would NEVER CONSIDER trying to change someone else's diet. (also it is not like I have a ton of money. I do think that one can make their life vegetarian(idk about vegan) even with a limited budget as tofo and other non-meat-substitut protiens can be rather reasonably priced)

I hate veganism as well. It literally isn't natural, but a forced transition. If you have or want to be vegan for health reasons, go right ahead, but NEVER try to force your opinion and lifestyle onto others. Same thing applies to sexuality, religion, and everything else that applies to YOU as an individual.
@@DemBigOlEyes the only people i know that are genuinely vegan for health reasons have a rare allergy to certain proteins and whatnot. they are unhealthy, malnourished people that don't have a choice, and i pity them terribly.

Another thing, cancer is a very RNG based disease. My nan smoked like a chimney her whole life and whilst she did in fact die of cancer, she was very old when it happened. Am I supposed to believe that's less carcinogenic than a child having a steak? I'm pretty sure there are people who are literally born with cancer. When talking about cancer, there's no way to ensure you don't get it, only to reduce the chances of getting it. The reality is, we're all experiencing potentially cancerous copying errors in our cells all the time, but for most people most of the time, your body and immune system shut that shit down before it begins. Your body is very aggressively anti-cancer. "Cancer" happens when one of those mistakes goes unnoticed, slips by and your body can't address it. Obviously the more risky you are about what you do to your body, the stress you put your cells under etc. the more of these errors you'll get and the more likely you are for one to slip by, but there's no guarantees either way.
