The fact that little Colin was an energy vampire even as a kid is just genius. The tangents he goes on about Roblox and such is as much soul sucking as his adult self
I just realized this while reading your comment. Is he an energy vampire is whole kid life?? He takes all of Lazlos time then forgets it ALL and lazlo is left with nothing. Maybe I'm over thinking haha
what if colin is secretly a genius? every hundred years, he resets to child mode and has someone raise him. he builds that parent child bond, along with all the accompanying memories and feelings just for the big finale. reaching adulthood again and telling the parent he doesnt remember any of it, that its all gone, and it was all for nothing. the ultimate energy vampire feast.
I like the theory, but he is starting to remember bits of his past which makes me think that he truly does forget to an extent. I think he eventually gets the memories back since he did remember his mother and summoned her ghost
I know that Colin’s chatter about his interests was meant to be an energy drain, but as someone with autism I found it so cute that he wanted to share his interests. 😊
I'm starting to think that was the point. It's easy to find annoying, but it highlights how important it is to "feed" the ones you love by engaging with them
Laszlo singing Sunrise Sunset in the final episode of the season really broke me the first time I watched it, then the entire cast sings it in the credits and it fits too well. Baby Colin’s love of musical theater (it’s from Fiddler on the Roof) the themes of growing up, and most importantly the bitter sweetness if it all.
The best arc in the series and paired two of thr characters together in a way you wouldn't expect but desperately miss once it's finished. To baby Colin Robinson and Pappa Lazlo
guillermo & lazlo being the only 2 members of the household who care about baby!colin as a person really gives me a new appreciation fopr the guillermo/lazlo crackship (i think they should hook up, i think it'll be good for both of them)
They do interact more on the upcoming season, here's the synopsis: "Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he seems to he spending much more time with Laszlo, whose skills as a scientist are put to the test as he tries to solve the mystery of the strange and very secret changes Guillermo is going through."
He probably does remember. Telling Laszlo all of his time, effort and emotional investment were for nothing was probably like the sound of a straw sucking the last bits of milkshake from the cup. Feasting on all that energy like a slow cooked roast.
Everything from minute 4:30 is Just sad, I mean, Colin is so lost in the transition that he doesn't view Laszlo as his father (he is if we are being honest) and Guillermo really tries to help both of them but nothing is working during that moment. I think that is one of the most emotional moments of the whole series, despite being a comedy and and the feeling that gives is raw, like big time. EDIT: THIS one, besides the one when Laszlo wants to spend time with Colin and when Colis is himself again and can't remember anything of their time Together and watching Laszlo heart broken
The scene where Colin doesn't remember anything made me sad but then when Nadja, Lazlo, and Colin all sing Sunrise Sunset at the end of the season made me sob which I didn't expect.
Lowkey kinda love when unserious shows have wholesome moments that aren't forced, this one is especially beautiful because of the fiddler on the roof soundpiece Lazlo does as throughought the series he protests his hatered for musicals and it makes you think how time just passes us by and we tend to take a lot things for granted.
9:20 I love that laszlo is actually a responsible parent, yknow, by vampire standards lmao. Yes he encourages baby Colin to do crimes or run around with dangerous things like candles and weapons, but I feel like as a vampire he doesn’t see those as actually dangerous. But despite being such an openly sexual person laszlo makes sure to keep things appropriate for Colin’s age. Lively and healthy sexuality can coexist with being a healthy parent who raises a well adjusted kid. I just feel like with the way so many people are weaponizing the rhetoric that queer and trans people are somehow going to corrupt their children and with Puritanism seemingly gaining popularity I love seeing this kind of sexual positivity on tv.
😂 it's not gaining popularity EXCEPT in the internet. EVERYTHING on the Internet is about 50x more intense than the real world because they're all competing for views.
Laszlo was already on his way to being my favourite character (which took me 3 seasons to even begin to decide because I like them all so much) but this season definitely cemented his status
i love that they went the route of laszlo actually being a good dad (in the best way he knew how) to colin and i was legitimately heartbroken for him when colin robinson came back and didn't remember any of it. it would've been so easy to play it all off as a nonsense gag but they really bonded
Remember that Colin is an energy vampire and likes to gaslight people. He may have just been feeding off of Lazslos sadness and walked away grinning. In many ways, Colin is the most dangerous vampire because 1. he can day-walk and 2. he feeds on the other vampires if they don't call him out on it quickly!
Wholesome Laszlo being friend to Colin Robinson and then surrogate father to the creature that crawled out of the chest cavity of the deceased Colin Robinson wasn't what I expected of the show, but I live for it.

If you're thinking about expanding your subject matter, I'd like to inform you that Star Trek: Deep Space Nine has its 30th anniversary this April, and that if you love Laszlo, you'd probably really like Garak (the "weird hill to die on but at least you're dead" meme alien). He was just as quotable, if nowhere near as horny. Also, I do a great Laszlo impression!

Oh my god I've never watched the show. But this is so so sad. The only little light I can see is that at the very end when lazlo is asking Colin what he remembers, Colin is so very concerned for Laszlo like something might be wrong with him. So he does love him and care for him
I have just found out that I really fancy Matt Berry, I think it may be the vampire in him, Lost Boys was my favourite teenage girl crush film, and I do find Bram Stoker’s Dracula film a good bit sexy so !!!!!!!!!
Colin totally remembers everything, he's just trolling Laszlo. And then the "do you smell toast?" comment is gaslighting him... phantom smells like that are one symptom of a brain tumor, so he's planting the seed in Laszlo's mind that he may have hallucinated the whole thing.
