Like many over here in Britain - I never saw Craig when he was actually hosting the show... Having stumbled across him on RU-vid - I have started to appreciate his genius - what an amazingly talent...
I managed to see him live once years ago. He's a real force of nature - similar vibration to Robin Williams. He comes in and absolutely dominates the stage/set for about an hour -- had to cut and reset a few times and he was straight back on it - proper professional and master of his craft. Rare gem in showbiz for sure
I used to watch Conan, then when he went to the Tonight Show, I started watching Ferguson. While all the other talk shows were interviewing A-list movie stars and so forth, Craig constantly had on Carrie Fisher, William Shatner, all these hilarious old-school people you wouldn’t normally see on a late night show. I thought that was amazing.
He was the last great late night comic.. They have all been hijacked now by an hour of Trump bashing repeating the same one liners over and over again regardless of if you like Trump or not.. They've destroyed originality and forget about funny, you can only say the same joke's for so long about the same PERSON before you run your shoe into the ground and that's what they've all done.. Good riddance and with the cancel culture of today Ferguson wouldn't have a prayer wouldn't last five minutes. The feminazis would be going crazy since flirting with a girl like we've done since crawling out of the water is now basically sexual assault.. Good bye any good comedy from here on out..
If you're a fan of watching these, search not only for Kristen's appearances but also Mila Kunis. Craig is great with both, and they're both personal friends of his. I think Mila was on almost as many episodes as Kristen was.
@@Graxster Hi there. I had to binge watch these on RU-vid because I live in England and never saw the show on TV. I really enjoyed his Scotland shows with Mila, Ariel and Michael (RIP). It's true what you say that he and all his friends are just a hoot to watch and he really appreciates them. As we all should. Take care, Graxster.
Towards the end, the show got a little dry, you could tell he was over it. I remember when Kilborn left and he came on and his energy would pull you in.
@@Matthew075 Out of curiosity, is that the actual fact? That's always kind of been my own personal _assumption,_ though I've never had any idea if it was actually the case. My thinking was, since Letterman had a lot of pull with CBS, Craig probably got some latitude with the racier bits, keeping the censors busy and whatnot. It made sense because of the timing, I got the impression that without Dave around telling the execs to relax, Craig would have had to become as bland as his replacement. I miss this show terribly, but best he left on a high note, I can't watch TLLS anymore, Cordon occasionally has a moment, but for the most part, I think of him as "British Jimmy Fallon", _yawn._
@@Lux7355 It's what he said in various interviews. Apparently it was a 'perfect storm' of events that he said will never happen again in network television that allowed him to have the show he wanted. Some of the examples he gave was the network didn't promote his show therefore they didn't pay attention to the content, also for a while Dave's company basically owned the show so he was protected and Dave also didn't care about the show. So in short Craig was left out there in no mans land to do whatever he wanted. Check out the recent interviews on Bert Kreischer's podcast and/or yourmomshousepodcast ... he goes into some detail about this.
Craig's Talent is Truly Amazing------ Thank you Les Moonves for giving us Craig Ferguson------ you have blessed the world ----- Craig I Must have an IQ extremely High------ he's so Quick witted and creative.....GREATFUL to the guy who published all these shows.....grateful to God for putting Craig on earth at this time to make us all laugh.......it's like he's THE BEATLES all rolled up in one man.
Another strong episode. Craig & Geoff were great during the monologue. House of Lies was a great show during a particularly creative period for Showtime. They should've talked about it more. Louie Anderson is still hilarious. He was great on "Baskets" as the mom. Glad he won an Emmy.
I couldn't wait to stay up past my bed time to watch every night. I'm so glad we can catch up on everything we missed over the years. I didn't even get in cristen until the good place but now I have many years to catch up on her as well
Yeah, Kristen has been a guest most often, but I, too, think that he's had a better chemistry with some others ( Mila Kunis, Kat Dennings, Sarah Paulson, Jon Hamm, Robin Williams...just off the top of my head)
Craig had so many fantastic reoccurring guests (Lindsay Sloane, Rashida Jones, Adam Goldberg, Mila Kunis...too many to mention), and other tv hosts have had a lot of awesome guests as well - but Craig and Kristen will always top them all.
Louie Anderson's hilarious, "of course they're gonna be in the other room, _make this guy go through again, hey Bill, get in here, check this guy out, you'll feel better about yourself... "_ 😂 Not easy to get in and out in that little time, and still kill it.
Funniest thing is that he kind of parodies Scottish - when he actually DOES speak Scottish (like on some of his early stand-up albums), most won't be able to understand a single word... :-D
Watching Craig Ferguson in 2021 is still awesome and never gets old. Also, Kristen Bell is beautiful and doesn't seem to age. Would been interesting if her and Craig hooked up
He left because he was simply tired of doing the show. It had been 10 years, he felt he had done as much as he could with it, and was ready for something new.
It's very unusual ,and most people don't think it's possible for a man and a women to be ...just friends.....when they first met she had a crush on him and wanted to marry him ...well ...I suppose you could say, two thirds of the women he has met felt the same .....
He left it wasn't cancelled ... think he felt like after David L left he no longer had protection to be himself.. so he got out BEFORE they kicked him out. Shame really.
Craig is the funniest man ever doing late night talk shows, even Conan doesn't reach this level.... I wonder why Craig had to leave? Whenever I'm in the mood for late night I'll check his old stuff here on RU-vid before watching anything contemporary. The execs must feelvery proud of themselves. Idiots
i maybe of coconai or frut very terror for your guest . you on english happy program about the televition on theam different on thurday your actitude belive on show
