Yo Derek, I'm an engineer in the traffic industry - to shed some light on those ramp closures, they're widening and improving them. In the end it'll be a good thing, but due to it being a CIP (capital improvement plan) which is funded by the state and regulated/ planned/ and ultimately constructed through Caltrans and Caltrans picked contractors, it moves at a snail's pace. There's a TON of red tape behind these projects, and they take years to complete. There's bidding wars over which contractors and consultants are involved, tons of back and forth for submittals, approvals, NTP's, etc. I won't sit here and say it's not annoying because it is for ALL parties involved, but the public is the most affected by it. That's government for ya. And please be safe on these late night rides bro. You've got a ton of experience on the saddle but it only takes one little thing you don't see in the dark at 85mph that will make your bike go tits up.
You mentioned about getting a new set of tires. I just bought Michelin's Road 6s they say you can get 10k out of them. I've had them a few months, and now it will be the only tire I'll ever buy for my bike. Awesome tires

Yeah those sketchers are nice and comfortable, there's a store in San Dimas, my dad said it was cheaper. I used to get out at 1 or 2am when I work by there also.i live in pomona I do love the night drives
I never comment but I used to live in Alpine, CA and ride/drive to Del Mar, CA every day. 2 hours there and 2 hours back. I hated it. I commend you for it. It worth it. I can imagine after work and being done late like you it sometimes can be tedious. But you can always take a car. Obviously it's worse with traffic and gasoline prices as well so yeah it's a give and take situation I guess. Happy you are doing good otherwise! Same on the job. 💯
Man well fitting work shoes are so important. Im a machinist and spend 95% of my work day standing and learned the hard way to no cheap out on work shoes.

Late night rides for me are dangerous. To many Moose and deer on the road. Other than that my road has amazing riding. 2000ft gain in elevation and tons of curves. Snows almost gone and I’m itching to ride 😂
Just curious, since it's so late at night when you go through the area, couldn't you just sneak through closed exit anyways? Bein a motorcycle n all. That's if the road is still passable at all, idk.
Just bought a 23 kawasaki zh2. Man I'm in love with that thing. Kept my 22 ktm 500 exc-f. It's nice to have 2 bikes a kinda chill and take anywhere bike and a 50 to 150 in seconds bike.

For me, rain riding gives me the same feel as night riding do for you. And cops don't usually pull me over in the rain neither. Cops tend to hate rain and avoid it.

My life changed after I bought a radar detector. I'm not even worried about dickheads with radar guns anymore because I get alerted 2 miles before they see me coming.
