I don’t think Cloud was lying. I think he genuinely thought he’d never see Aerith again. But he and Elmyra both underestimated her. People frequently underestimate Aerith.
I think at the point at which he said that to Elmyra, he gave precisely zero shits about keeping any promises to Elmyra, and he gave between 0.5 and 1.0 shits about seeing Aerith again. But I also think more than either of these considerations, his main consideration during this sequence was "whatever".
The Evergreen Park playground scene is my absolute favourite from FFVII Remake. It’s a wonderful heart to heart moment between Cloud and Aerith. 🗡️🌼 Also the version of Aerith’s theme that plays in this moment is so beautiful and I feel it’s also slightly romantic in a way. It makes me think of Cloud and Aerith sitting under the stars on a picnic blanket, on a grassy hillside, under a tree, with Midgar a far distance away in the background. ❤️🎶 I cry every time I watch this scene with its wonderful music. It’s just so beautiful.🥹
I've loved Aerith since the OG. The chemistry between Cloud and Aerith is worthy of a Disney tale. It's no surprise that in Kingdom Hearts (Disney + Square) they are included in the credits as a couple.
"Gotta look forward, not back" it's a very meaningful line Aerith said there and all the time we spend with her is so precious and amazing, definitely my favorite parts from the game. It's just so beautiful to see all the chemistry and dynamic these two have. Cloud learns a lot from her!
“Learn to talk to her.” Cloud is a certified softie haha. You only get that Aerith scene if you complete all her side quests. One of my favorite Aerith scenes in the game for sure. Also just wanted to say that it’s okay to like both Aerith and Tifa. It’s one of the most infamous love triangles. Infamous because there is a huge portion of the fanbase that can be pretty toxic towards each other. That and there’s never been a canon couple. The developers have always said they wanted the player to interpret however they like and flat out refuse to make one official. The games do a great job of balancing out scenes for both so it’s best to just pick your favorite and then go back and view the content for the others.
They won’t hard confirm one but they definitely lean more one way than the other I’ve noticed in Remake and Rebirth. Not sure if they’re aware of the war they’re keeping alive although even if one was confirmed the war would continue regardless
@@Step43099 regardless both characters have optional and non-optional scenes that support fans of their ships. Remake isn’t too bad with the shippers but once she gets to Rebirth is probably when the hardcore toxic shippers will come out of the woodworks I’d imagine.
Guuuurl, you neeeeed to use Arcade Ward! You do your magic attack x2 for the cost of one! And not just Aerith can use it, anyone casting offensive magic attacks in the magical ward does the same! It’s super powerful! Aerith is amazing, you just need to learn how to use her!
Saw people commenting that you should play crisis core. Please don't. It'll spoil you on one of the biggest mysteries of the game. It should only be played after og or p3. It came out after the og game, after all. Edit: try to master Arcane ward! It casts every spell twice for the price of one, for ANYONE who stands inside the ward. It'll be really valuable in future boss fights. Aerith's abilities aren't as straightforward as some others so she might be difficult to use. But equip her well and feel out her strengths and she becomes really broken in a fight.
I personally think it's perfectly okay for new players to play Crisis Core AFTER remake or even after rebirth. It's better to do that than just encourage new players to just sit in silence waiting for the third game. Edit: Also yes make sure of Aeriths abilities when playing as her. Because she's generally not a direct attack kind of player.
It’s probably because if I recall correctly the developers urged people to play it before Rebirth. Likely because best guy plays a more prominent role in this story than he ever has before so they want new players to be familiar with him. Though playing it does reveal part of the big twist there’s still other stuff around it that stays unrevealed so I guess it just depends on the oerson
@@Step43099 There's pros and cons to it, but I personally think it's better to play Crisis Core before Rebirth because even if it spoils some things, it makes you understand a lot more of what's going on in Rebirth. And you'd have to depend too much on your memory of every scene and dialogue of Rebirth to piece things together when you play Crisis Core.
You're right about this. Cloud's and Aerith's chemistry is mindblowingly beautiful. Pay close attention to everything that Aerith has to say. It won't make too much sense now but a lot of it will, far far later.
Finishing rebirth and returning for this night sweet melody before wall market is REALLY something, so many emotions. Nowdays i have the full picture of how beautiful is that moment. So much introspect.
55:39 To answer your question here, Cloud realized that Aerith didn't choose the safer route so she can be with him a little longer and he was pleased/happy. Cloud smiled and Aerith smiled playfully. That is what's written in the Ultimania (FF7R's official guidebook).😊
Yay! Great episode, Cyn! The next few episodes will be so much fun! 🥰 PS: You could've actually used the slide on the playground before talking to her at the secret passage way. 😂
FYI: If you use the touchpad at the beginning of a fight, you can see if you have already assessed that monster. If you have, you can see all of the weaknesses without using assess again.
I swear your commentary is so good! You catch lots of nuances and is amazing hearing your theories. Really glad I found your playthrough, you're great.
31:20 I remember watching Briana White’s play through of this and her comment that she really hated recording that line. And most of the lines about ladders in general.
The actor for Chocobo Sam is Larry Davis, he doesn’t have that many roles, but he’s done a college humour video you might of seen where he does a Morgan Freeman character.
I thought I was a Tifa main and then Aerith showed up and you’re right Cloud and Aerith just have so much chemistry it’s undeniable whereas yeah Cloud and Tifa do as well but there’s just something special about Cloud and Aerith’s chemistry
@@RustyRagesRegularly Their chemistry is mostly unfiltered because they have no history with each other so it comes through easier as well as Aerith being more extroverted compared to the pair of introverts Cloud and Tifa. (Well almost unfiltered but that’s a bit of a spoiler)
56:24 Awww yeah she Picked Exotic as the dress for Tifa to wear. That was my first choice too in my playthrough. But personally ultimately i think the Mature dress fit her the most.😂 59:16 She also didnt notice Aerith being slightly offended as she looks over herself when Cloud mentions Tifa is in great shape.🤣
Long summer. Good to be back. Aerith came back out of nowhere 😂. I remember like damn she's slick. I like "Aerith. Now it's time for me to watch the rest your playthrough. Woohoo! 😮🙌
Don’t know if you’ve completed the game yet, but you can map abilities to your shoulder button shortcut. It saves a lot of menu time, also arcane ward is cracked in both games.
intro for this part is wrong. Cloud DOES ask Aerith about the Turks when they're crossing the rooftops. Aerith won't tell him anything so he gives up and says, "forget it." He's money hungry, but he's not a simple-minded dumbass.
This section right here converted me to an Aerith simp. I came into remake thinking I was a Tifa boy (I didn’t play OG but watched Advent Children, that’s why. Also I like a bad ass fighter momma), but then Aerith kinda poked at my feeling throughout the whole chapter, and then came this section. I was truly converted here, but didn’t wanna admit it with myself until after the Wall Market section lol.
I still feel you should have played the original before this, it just gives you so much more insight into the things Aerith talks about. If you go on to play Rebirth then you should definitely play the original before doing that, like even if not actually on the channel but just in your own spare time. If you just go through the main story it's only like a 30 hours or so game
I knew that I was going to end up being a member of your channel. I love the fact that you used the term simple minded for Cloud. that’s a good way to put it this early on😂 The only materias I would be concerned about not grabbing if they’re in the field our blue ones because you really can’t get those anywhere else ❤❤❤❤❤ Aerith’s boyfriend name bomb -what I say, instant chills, for Cloud ❤❤❤❤ Jesus how big of an impact did this man have on Cloud? Well, FYI, this mysterious person has his own game in the compilation and it got a remake because he’s amazing 🤟
By the way, I made a note of pointing out the fact that there is a character here that is literally Snow from FF 13 but the thing is that Game was kinda supposed to be a backwards clone of 7 as far as I can tell because it was the first game that the development team for this game worked on together And all of the characters in that game trilogy reflect characters in this trilogy
I wouldn't say Cloud is simple, more incurious, which is kind of worse. Especially in this circumstance when there's so much he clearly doesn't know about going on around him, happening to him, I can see it being infuriating to watch. I'm the total opposite, I need context, I ask questions all the time, and pay attention to details because it's the details that can jam you up later on at crucial moments. Who are those hooded guys? Why am I seeing this dead guy I killed years ago? What is my psyche trying to tell me? Why is Aerith so friendly with these 2 well-dressed gents who have both tried to kill me?
ARGGGGGHH!!!! I HATE that u stopped where u did.....uve probably already done it, but if not.....make a beeline for Madame M's massage parlor. It's an experience Cloud (and u) won't soon forget!! 🤣
Yeah I wouldn't use that Nail bat because it doesn't look right on him and its not even a sword. Also the refined dress would've been better than that exotic one you just saw Tifa wear. And if you wanna learn about Cloud's competition (as you're calling him) you should play the prequel game "FF7 Crisis Core Reunion"!
Also it's perfectly okay to Play it either before you play rebirth or after. No need to torture yourself leaving it unplayed while you wait for the third game.
@FlowerSunMoonlightsyndrome doesn't change the fact that the purpose for the crisis core remaster was so new players could play it and know who Zack and cisnei are just like square expected you to play ever crisis before rebirth so that you know who Glenn lodrock is plus story wise crisis core is 5 years before the original game so basically you are saying square doesn't know how to tell a story
@FlowerSunMoonlightsyndrome I've played crisis core when it was remastered I didn't understand its purpose but I realized after I played it that the reason they released it before rebirth was because they were planning on putting Zack and cisnei in rebirth
@FlowerSunMoonlightsyndrome that's why people complain about not being able to follow the story of kingdom hearts as well because they think that the story is only kingdom hearts 1 2 and 3 and the rest is unimportant but final fantasy 7 is doing the same thing with this trilogy by putting all the ff7 games into these 3 games because it assumes you have played everything ff7 and watched advent children just like kingdom hearts expected you to play everything outside of the main 3 games but this RU-vid person can play however they want and it's not your job to say anything about spoilers but I will say this though the more you understand a story the more you enjoy it and in my opinion you can't fully understand what is going on let alone enjoy it if you think that you can only play these 3 new games and go yay I now know ff7 because you don't
You know what is funny when someone tells a person not to play crisis core before this game it's like someone saying don't watch episode 1 2 and 3 of starwars before watching 4 5 and 6 because it spoils you finding out Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers father 😂
Watching movies / playing games in chronological order isn't always the best way to experience a narrative. It's all preference. Everyone has a preference 😂
@victorwonder not really if you want to understand and appreciate the narrative more you will play games chronological because they were made for that very purpose the only reason square remastered crisis core was for people who have never played it to play it before rebirth so they know who Zack and cisnei are
@victorwonder just like square expected you to be playing ever crisis before playing rebirth so you know who Glenn is you can have your own preference but you can't fight intended purpose
