It is remarkable how Robbie used to present himself in interviews. You might think, "What an arrogant knob", but because of his nature there is always a bit of irony and humor 😀. He was damn lucky that "Angels" was the song that saved him. Before that, he just had a big mouth but little to show for it. Gary Barlow must have felt miserable as hell at that point. You're the supposed talent in the band, the press sees you as the next big thing and suddenly your ex-bandmate and biggest enemy passes you by, gets fame and glory and you're ostracized by the media. Not nice.
