Thank you for making such a detailed review on the various functions of the Casio CDP-S100. I have recently bought a CDP-S100 all the way here in South Africa and look even more forward to receiving it now. Compared to other digital pianos this one is very well priced and is the most affordable.

Electric piano 2 sounds like the water level from Mario 64

Casio offers a great line of products! If you want a piano with hundrens of sounds, synths, layers, and programmability, then you can't go wrong with the PX-5S or PX-560. However, if the acoustic and electric pianos is all you need, this is half the price!

I played the s100 in Guitar Center today, so it’s available in the US now.

I am glad, that you have shown that there is audio feedback prior to doing a specific function. Me being blind myself, I can tell by the beeps, what you are doing prior to you explaining what parameter you are changing in the digital piano. I love that feature. I might consider this for my friend. Just one question, I saw a few videos demonstrating this digital piano, by craft music, And I was wondering, because, they were saying that the keyboard has touch sensors. does this thing have physical buttons, or is it touch censored. I went to a music store today and tried this keyboard. For the price, it is amazing....The touch very close to a real piano. I will give 4* for this, real piano 5*. The sound is also very good. Again for the price, it is the best.

Anyone using it as midi keyboard? I have read that yamaha p45 has some dynamic issues when connected as midi like its impossible to velocity above 100 in p45! Is this the case with casio cdps100/150? Does it work fine as midi?

Which digital piano has the most realistic weighted keys? The Yamaha p45 or the Casio cdp s100?

Thinking about driving an hour to pick a CDP-S100 up for $200 to try a new hobby... Seems like it sounds really nice. If it's still available next weekend, perhaps I'll take it as a sign and go get it.

If you want to buy a more realistic pedal for the Casio CDP-S100 you need a t.bone headphone adapter because the hole on the piano is bigger than the normal 3.5mm stereo jacks

Hi Jeremy, thanks for all your reviews. I've found a second hand CDP-130 for US$250 in the Philippines (owner bought in 2018), while the CDP-S100 with stand is US$500. I'm buying as a newbie and want to also have my niece (7 yrs) learn. Is the CDP-130 still good or would the keys start to be unresponsive soon? Edit: Oof, Just checked and I think the CDP-130 has a buyer ahead of me.

I know the key action is very authentic but are the sounds actually much better than the ones found in my Casio CTS 300 keyboard?

I just bought this piano. But the problem is, when i use app like simply piano or yousician, this apps say that I am pressing C# when i am.literally pressing C. So it is out of tune? How to fix this

HimJeremy, very nice review. The CDP S100/150 has only 10 tones but these are bread and butter sounds of very high quality. I like the little melodies that you are playing to demonstrate the various sounds. It is a bit disappointing that Casio has not included a clarinet and a vibraphone, which are used a lot for jazz and pop music. It would also have been nice to have a bass sound and to be able to split the keyboard in two parts, e.g. bass in the left hand and bright piano in the right. I have a question: is it possible to adjust the volume of the layered voices? When you play the mellow piano layered with the strings, the piano is almost drowned by the strings, it would be cool to be able to adjust the relative volumes of both voices. Are you going to make more demonstrations of the CSP S350? I’d be curious to hear some more rhythms with OTS. Did Casio add new piano-tailored rhythms on the CDP S350, or were all the rhythms already present on the CT-X lineup of keyboards? Have a nice Sunday 😎

When it sends out midi, is it velocity sensitive? If I hit a key hard/soft will it send that midi data over too? Also how does it feel to play? Do the weighted keys feel similar to a real piano?

However, the price, Rs 34000 or $449, is too steep for me as a beginner and as I don't intend to turn this into my profession. What other alternatives do you recommend? I have checked your several piano recommendations videos under $199, 2019 edition, 2020 edition. But nothing seems to click. My son needs to practice piano with headphone and I wonder if an app (such as Simple Piano; iPad is connected to MIDI) is able to have listen capabilities through the cable while it’s on silent mode. Does the keyboard send the information back to iPad/app so that the app can detect what kind of sound he is making?

Hi Jeremy, you have answered my previous question on another video about beginner pianos, I hope you would this one as well. Now I have the budget for Casio CDP130(costs 329$ where I live) and there are other options like CDP S100 (costs about 420$), roland fp 10(570$) and yamaha P45(over 700$). Is it worth to aim for roland fp 10 or yamaha p45? Or should I just buy the cheapest cdp 130? My plan is to save a bit more for CDP S100. I haven't seen the Casio CDP S100 and S150 for sale in the US. Only the Privia PX S1000 and S3000 on presales for $600 and $800 US, respectively.
