Here is some good news about one of the changes in the UK immigration policies that will take place on April 4th 2024. It is a great opportunity to work for 20 hours for another employer while on a skilled worker visa.

hi Cynthia ! Recently, I got a Tier 2 Skilled Worker visa, and my full-time job role is warehouse operations manager. I am also working at another company for 20 hours per week as a warehouse operator. Is it legally okay to work both jobs, or is this not allowed?

The job has to be on the SOC 2020 list. Please check the list to find out whether the occupation you are interested in is on the list. All the best!

From 4th of April they will change the system such that you can work 20 hours in another occupation apart from your sponsored code as long as the occupation is on the SOC 2020 list. You have to check whether the jobs you listed are on the SOC 2020. The link to the document is in the description box. For now, we don’t know the dos and don’ts until they publish the final update on 4th of April. We want to know whether we are to inform the Home Office before we take on the 20 hours in another occupation code. All the best!

@@bethclaris6188 if you applied before 11th of March 2024, you can bring dependents. If you have not submitted your application, please include your CV showing that you have the expertise and skills and a cover letter that further articulates your qualifications and add you phone and email so that the case worker can contact if they have any questions.

I am in support worker visa right now so I can work 40 hours so after 40 hours I have 20 hours extra hours to work in outside but I need to work in same work code so now they charge the rules it's is work for carer visa as well???

From 4th of April they will change the system such that you can work 20 hours in another occupation apart from your sponsored code as long as the occupation is on the SOC 2020 list. Really? There are hundreds of thousands of vacancies on Indeed and other job sites. The UK is still experiencing shortages in some areas of specialisation. Maybe the job seeker doesn’t have the skills the fill up the area that is in high demand…… or perhaps the aspect on high demand doesn’t have enough visa sponsorship. Something for everyone to think about!
