Watch Nicholas Latifi's gloomy reaction after Nyck de Vries made his excellent debut on the circuit of Monza at the Italian Grand Prix from 2022. If you enjoy watching these videos, please consider subscribing to this channel!
If there ever was any sympathy for him, this is where he lost all of it, hope not to see him again, he made a career of being last and feels no shame, he is lost forever.
He is actually not totally wrong but giving no credit to Nyck really shows how upset he is with the situation. Albon would've destroyed Goatifi too but that is sort of expected. Latifi should have beaten De Vries comfortably. His career is 100% over, Williams cannot cover for him anymore.
he knows this weekend just ended his F1 career… with just one 30 minute run in FP3 and a few laps in qualifying, De Vries was already outperforming him in a car he had been driving for 7 months… it’s beyond embarrassing. If Williams want to be taken seriously, they’re dropping him as soon as possible.
@@mcaden Williams definitely needed that Sofina money prior to the new ownership group taking over… but Dorilton Capital is an extremely wealthy private investment firm, so Williams do not need that funding as much anymore - they’d be less affected by firing Latifi and Sofina pulling out than Haas was by firing Mazepin and Uralkali pulling out (and look at where Haas are now compared to last year)
@@mcaden New owners Publicly stated they do not need the support of a pay driver which is why they signed Albon. Latifi at Williams is done. His only hope is F1 is Haas Because they need a sponsor.
@@mcaden if they replace him, the team could actually move up the standings and compensate for him by getting a bigger share of the prize money, plus getting good publicity.
He's right the car should be there and i'm sure Albon would have executed a similar race to De Vries. Imagine how embarrassed Latifi must be, he knows his F1 career is over and his talent justifies the ejection. All he has to show for 3 years is ironic goat memes. What a legacy.
@@needforspeed5188 Yeah, besides the fact that Glock actually knew how to race, they are both still going to be cemented in F1 history as the drivers who changed a title fight at the end of the race.
I think it's a shame that he didn't even congratulate De Vries (maybe personally?) Of course I get that he doesn't want to acknowledge that he's not good enough to be in F1, but that is the reality...
I don't understand how he can say it's the car when he's never been able to get it into that position. If he was starting P8 he probably would've crashed out. I don't like being mean to athletes, but he lost my little respect with this attitude. De Vries did an amazing job, whether it put his career to even more shame or not.
Keep in mind Latifi started in P10, so it's not like he wasn't that far behind De Vries. If it was P15 or something, maybe he had a point but he fell like an anvil throughout the race
He's not really wrong but the key difference is that De Vries did NOT lose a bunch of positions at the start. Unfortunately this just comes off as sour grapes from a guy who has had every chance to show the same ability as his teammates and has unfortunately failed to do so 99% of the time.
honestly im a pretty new f1 fan and ive heard casters pointing out latifis horrible achievements and rubbing it in which felt wrong but I also watched his interviews and the guy always blames it on the car which doesnt feel right either. Yes williams is the worst car but there is no excuses for this bad performance he is putting on this year. A rookie outperformed him without even knowing the car and thats a clear sign to williams. get goatifi out
...the only reason Latifi is acting like that is because Nyck de Vries just thoroughly beat him in his very 1st GP race - on short notice and with very limited seat time in a Williams, no less! That should absolutely seal the deal on Latifi being released from Williams at the end of this season (if not before)...
I was feeling sad for Latifi these years. Now i got it...... He's finished. De Vries finished him with that performance in Monza. I see NO logical reason THAT Latifi ll stay in f1 next year. He's gone for good
So what he meant to say is that a driver who just did a race at the last minute for the first time in the whole season is more capable at extracting the full potential of the car than he is. Got it.
I mean Nyck did show that the car belonged somewhere in the points something Latifi only came close to one time this year Still points in the slowest car(pace wise not straight line speed wise) on the grid is amazing
Car fits him poorly. He's not a very good qualifier, but he's got decent race craft tbh. Car is just incapable of chasing and passing anyone. Between him, Albon, George and De Vries, they've managed like 1 overtake in the past 3 or so years and that was by Latifi in Silverstone in his first year 😂
I mean, he wouldn't finish P20 in a Red Bull. Its always the car to a degree. The car is shit, it cannot overtake and he keeps getting paired with much much better qualifiers. Like if we look at it objectively, didn't De Vries quali p8 thanks to a million penalties and drop down to P9? Its technically not really a huge achievement to drop a position.
The most sad thing behind this is; there are probably way more people who could be potential F1 winners or even champions. But they will never even get the chance to show what they are worth because of money and sponsor bullshit.
let’s not forget Latifi greatest achievement: Crash out in 2021 Abu Dhabi round with 5 laps to go, invoked a safety car which indirectly influenced Max is to become the world champion of 2021. RB thanks Latifi for his service
The first time I got to know Latifi was just before he started his first season in F1. I saw him on twitch playing Mario kart while Max was already very famous for his skills in iracing.
I think its even worse considering De Vries isn't even some crazy new f1 talent. When you look at what he has accomplished before f1 its realistically less impressive then what many of the younger f1 drivers on the grid have done. Latifi isn't good enough to beat someone who is essentially an average f1 rookie being thrown into a race for the first time.
you know it's funny that many critics always start with "he's a nice guy" to kind of show pity to him before they start bursting out all the harsh criticism on him, well I guess we don't need that anymore, he's just a shameless rich kid living on daddy's money anyway, I have a lot of respect for athletes whether they perform good or bad but I just don't see the motivation/passion to move forward/fight for positions from him all these years as an athlete, just kick him out of F1 already
Well although he may sound frustrated and salty, he isn't wrong. That doesn't take away anything from De Vries as he did a phenomenal job of staying at front which Goatifi could not. Sadly I think we won't see Goatifi in the grid next year. So far legend..
Latifi said "That's where the car should have finished" meaning he was complimenting DeVries. He is not saying "IT'S THE CAR" Improve your english, do less clickbait thumbnail.
You gotta feel bad for Latifi. But at the same time, this is a cut-throat sport and it only rewards those who are exceptional and fearless. Fish or cut bait!
Someone's salty! Okay, nugget of truth, Williams has great straight line speed and yes, they were expected to do well on this track, BUT, if it were "just the car," Latifi was also in "just the car" in qualifying and during the race, so having his wealth of experience and being the senior driver in this case, shouldn't he have been up into Q3 and done far better in the race than he did? De Vries has nothing to do with Latifi's performance for the other 16 races thus far--so if he's mad that he's been "uncovered" by a side by side comparison with a reserve driver doing as well as he did, the reality is he has no one to blame for his performance prior to this, than himself.
Nyck out qualified him as well. Nyck qualified 8th and Latifi qualified 10th. You can’t always blame the car, especially since the car has improved. Nyck did an amazing job. I don’t like how Latifi didn’t say anything positive about Nyck and didn’t blame himself for his performance. He’s not humble and doesn’t show any type of sportsmanship. He needs to go. A good driver is able to adapt.
I don't see much wrong with this interview. I don't think he intentionally trying to discredit Nyck De Vries. The car does have a performance disadvantage so he is right. That said though, he is upset because he was soundly outperformed by the substitute and he knows that isn't good enough.
Latifi is literally the worst F1 driver this decade.. he has no right to talk with that amount of disrespect.. Good thing he's out next season. Despite him doing well in lower classes when he was younger, he shouldn't run his mouth with his current F1 results on an achievement of rookie De Vries
He didn’t say anything wrong here. Their car is one that just stays where it is. Nyck started 8th and finished 9th. The difference was that latifi lost all those places at the start.
Perfect team mate for Mazepin Its always they don't give a good car. For Williams there new and Young talents instead of him driving for them Imagine how many car he crashed The best thing he did in F1 is for Max first championship...when he crashed give Max time to make changes and won 2021 F1
Let’s assume it’s true that a Williams can only defend and not attack because it only has good top speed. Why was he outqualified by someone who’s done 4 practice sessions in an F1 car this year?
Yup, I’m afraid that might happen as well. After all, Latifi entered F1 despite De Vries winning F2 the previous year and clearly being the better driver. It’s a cruel world, but that’s how it has always been.
With all fairness, I can understand why Goatifi is not happy. Like he probably felt so discouraged to see a rookie beat him in the same car, and knowing he probably lost his seat in F1 forever. I do feel sorry for him, he's not a terrible driver overall (except for Abu Dhabi 2021 of course).
We're all making jokes about this guy, but its quite serious when you realize hes holding up far more deserving talent for that seat. He should've been booted a long time ago.
Its a very fair assessment. And I can see Latifis frustration and he should've given De Vries a little more credit for a successful debut. Otherwise he's (Latifi) actually not half bad at overtaking and battling. But the Williams is literally what he said, a car that can maintain a position but cannot move up.
