@House of Bognadoff It is boring. A mason founded the Rosary. To turn people off to long boring repetitive prayers. Just like Jews at the wailing wall. Nonsense.
Thank you for this video with Fr. Nolan! We are in Los Angeles and we greatly appreciate this awesome explanation and will share with all of my young cousins who are Catholic thank you again!! I am a member of FSSPLA!
Ahh, the exitus/ reditus diagram and exposition I throw into catechetical sessions with the 10-15yr olds and they absolutely love it. Praise be to God.
Thank you for the great information . I wonder what happened to the trend toward celebrating the Traditional form of the Mass. WHY is Pope Francis trying to eradicate it ?? It's so beautiful a full of grace so W H Y ??
Thank you Father for explaining very enlightening. With these videos and after meeting America needs Fatima I have grown my faith, their promotion of the Rosary and the Fatima message has opened my eyes. After seeing the miraculous image of Fatima I was touched very deeply. Could you explain a bit more about the foundation of our Catholic faith through Christ that separates us from the non-catholics. Thank you very much and God bless you. And a very blessed New Year to everyone 2017/2018
I loved the "the coffee maker is making some strange noises" comment heard at the beginning of the video. Seriously though, very informative video. Appreciated it.
Thank you for this lecture. I truly found it to be valuable and enlightening and brings my understanding of my faith just a tad bit deeper. THANK YOU. God love you.
To everyone Believe this configuration Somehow the geometry is tremendously important I have personal revelation to this fact I have been to different Catholic Churches And this geometric configuration is absolutely imperative!
Julie Kozlowski I'm sorry but this isn't a very Catholic way of thinking. Pope Francis is as determined as was Benedict to serve the Lord and his Church. His pontificate speaks by itself - if you know what to look for. Just as many people were scandalized at many of Jesus' words and deeds, the same thing happens with pretty much every reigning Pope - even if in different aspects.
Francis isn't as bad everyone makes him out to be. He doesn't hate traditional liturgy. He's more puzzled by its spread and return than anything. In fact he's been just as pro active in helping the tridentine rite. He's been working on restoring the irregular sspx to full communion.
@@JT-ho6rp Seen his recent document with the Pan-Amazonian synod and how he's thinking of abolishing the Latin Mass and adding married priests and women deacons? Plus, some of what he's said is contrary to the faith.
Father Mitch Pakwa also explained Father Justin's opening explanation this way: God is Love and is loving from all eternity. To share His Love, God created man (He created man in His own image and likeness). And as Father Justin explains: this man sinned against God creating a great chasm that separated man from God preventing man's return to Heaven. Father Pakwa then summaries what I heard Father Justin say in this way. But because God loved us (man) so much, God took on flesh to redeem us from our sins and reconcile us to Himself. Jesus is God made flesh - an infinite God Who died on the cross for love of us to redeem us from our sins, which have an infinite quality and offend the Majesty of God. This in essence is what makes Jesus the ONLY suitable and living Sacrafice of atonement for the offensive and infinite quality of sin. But in the hardness of his heart, man continues to sin. Thus we (man) have been given gifts of two Holy Sacrements: Baptism (1 Peter 3) and Reconciliation better know as Confession (John 20:22-23 and 1 John 1:9). In Baptism we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit and the stain of original sin is erased but the inclination to sin remains. Thus we have been the gift of forgiveness of sins through Confession. In the Confessional Jesus, Who is truly present, works through the Ordained Priest when the Priest raises his hand and administers Jesus' gift of Absolution. But these graces and ultimately all graces (Baptism, Confirmation, Penance, Holy Eucharist, Marriage, Holy Orders, and Extreme Unction) only come from Jesus' sacrifice of Love on the cross. This is my humble understanding of what has been taught. To verify its correctness, one can refer to the Chatechism of the Holy Catholic Church, the Holy Bible and an ordained Catholic Priest.
It's rather unfortunate that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI resigned after this talk was presented. I'm disheartened by the fumes Pope Francis is dispersing, calling reverence "rigidity" and so on. I attend a Novus Ordo parish, but was able to travel to participate in a TLM a few times after a local woman told me how beautifully reverent it is. She, herself, will not attend a Novus Ordo Mass unless she isn't able to make the drive to the TLM. I wanted to see what drew her adoration. I saw zero "rigidity." I've only attended the TLM 3 times, but I know a number of the people who choose that Mass time/location, and they are far from being "rigid medieval cos players," as I've heard them described by some Catholics, especially certain bishops and the pope. All the accusations of causing division in the Church, as far as I can see, comes from the Modernist side. Yes, there are outliers in the traditionalist movement, mostly vocal online in forums...but the Holy Father isn't providing them with pastoral care and concern. On the contrary, he's dismissing them with insults that are quite concerning. And he's stacking the deck with Modernist appointments to the hierarchy. It's as if they are afraid they are dying out. I pray and sacrifice for young traditional priests to persevere.
What I think is that who cares what the lay people think?! Those generation before me had no respect and no understanding of the Latin Mass and got rid of it! How dare they think I didn't want to inherit my faith's history and traditions?! And instead they are satisfied with the rubbish of today? Yeah! Jesus loves you woohoo everyone is happy! And guess what? My parents generation are not coming to the mass, they are no participating in church life and unless they tell you, you do not know if they are Catholic. I remember one priest giving a proper homily on sin and guess what my mother said? He shouldn't speak like that no one will come! She wasn't even there to hear the homily. Pray for our priests, they need support and some back bone, get back to the TLM, please!
Is Pope Frances still allowing the Tridentine to be used ? I have not seen it in any of the churches in the diocese of Orlando since he became Pope and there were 3 in my area doing it the first sunday of the month
Pope Francis has not changed the law in regard to the older rite, and Pope Benedict allowed any priest to pray the Mass in either form, so even the bishop of that diocese has no legal power to suppress the older form. Maybe someone from one of those parishes would know why they stopped?
+Tobias “Toby” VonWettin I don't know about your area. I just know that now, under Pope Francis, they are trying to expand the Tridentine & put it in competition with the Novus Ordo. They're saying, "We'll see how they stand up against each other" which is really not a fair fight.
I love the first part, Justin's EXCELLENT teaching. Every Catholic should learn that. But I'm disappointed in the Q&A & his answers. I find it sad that the FSSP is holding on to hope that the Church will reform itself back to the TLM. Wish the audio had been stronger.
Xander Taylor I think he was holding on the answer just to make sure it doesnt come across the wrong way. The goal is to bring people into the latin mass, not to scared them before they know what it is. It is just an opinion since i dont really know what is on his mind
It seems to me that most of the laity and Priests didnt and still dont understand the Mass. It was the night of Jewish Passover The Jews Worshipped the death of the Messiah in advance True Worship He is God the Son its His Own worship the Apostles passed it over to us. No one can change the Perpetual Passover Jewish Prayers. The creed can be changed , the confiteor c asn be changed but not the Passover Prayers.
The early Christians placed their altars facing the East, in following of tradition, Matthew: 24:27. “For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.”
Well that was extremely elementary. It probably could've been shortened if he didn't repeat the basic truths we all already know (e.g., Christ on the Cross, etc.).
The Worship goes back to the Temple The Priest Zechariah was saying the sacrificial death prayers The Jewish Passover prayers. " I will go onto the altar of God to God to God Who gives joy to my youth" God the Son conversing with God the Father in eternity about His Passover in His Passover in time. They used yo offer lamb sacrifice Jesus is the real Lamb but the Word must remain . "We offer you this Host This spotless Host may it be without blemish, spot or wrinke and be pleasing in thy sight" at times an anthem is sung on entry Psalm2 Its God the Father conversing with God the Son "This day I have begotten You " The Passover death Prayers are perpetual until end of time and no one can change them. Novus Ordo is an apostate church and will be a burnt offering.
In his first diagram you can see sin as the spear that pierced GOD's sacred heart which yearns for our return back to him. Where creation once was, Christ now stands as the only path upward for us to reach our heavenly Father. He took OUR sins and died so that we may ascend with him through his sacrifice.
Why do they call the Mass “the old Mass”? And the new”mass” the Novus Ordo? The “Old Mass” is the mass of all time. End of story. Remember that little part in Quo Primum where Pius V uses the term QUIS CUMPERE, which means “whosoever” ( that includes the Pope) when stating that whosoever changes the mass in ANY way will “incur the wrath of Almighty God and of his saints, Peter and Paul.” The Novus Ordo is a prayer of a schismatic sect. The Novus Ordo is horrible even if said in Latin. And I think Father’s talk is lackluster at best. If you want the truth of the Novu Ordo joke, sorry, I meant mass, listen to Fr. Gregor Hesse. Quite easy to find him on RU-vid. He was a canon lawyer and a Doctor of Thomastic Theology. Good luck in your search for the truth brothers and sisters.
Why aren't the subsequent revisions also condemned, for example, three signs of the cross-non-pontifical, at the final blessing, changed to only one, just before the Last Gospel, in the early 1600, not to mention the numerous feast days added!
34:33-34:49 Christ died ONCE for our sins! For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
What is your point? Yes, he said "in memory of me". The Catholic Church has never said that Christ is re-crucified. The Mass takes us back to Calvary. The Saviour on the cross is re-presented. It is the same belief that has been held by the Church since it was formed 2,000 years ago. Go back through the writings of the Church Fathers since the time of the Apostles and you'll see that nobody denied that the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ was in the Eucharist.
The priest offered animal sacrifices daily. You don't have to take an animal to the priest to atone for your sins any more because the priest anointed in the Apostolic Succession offers Christ's holy Sacrifice daily. Even though His death occurred once in time, the priest offers that same, single sacrificial death. We still have to offer sacrifice, it's just that we're offering Christ, not animals.
So the prefect God isn't perfect!? God had to kill himself to satisfy himself that his own imperfect creation could be fixed....the infinite all powerful God had no other method!? God couldn't just have a nice fatherly conversation with each of his creations? Does the all powerful infinite god have to full a schedule?
The only one who could satisfy the justice needed for the reparation of all the sins of mankind, past and future, was God Himself, who has never sinned.
@@Salutaris13074 don't bother answering this John J character. His posts are all throughout the chat. He's a nasty player looking to get a rise out of people to feed his own degraded ego. He came here with poor intentions. There always has to be a few in every chat. Poor thing has no real life.
Free will. God cannot be Love if he forces us to love Him. That would be a tyrannical dictatorship or something. Which is not true and absolute love. So we have freewill. That is why all this had to happen.
All grace comes from Christ on the cross? Why? The infinite god couldn't do something that didn't involve first century execution? Really? No other possiblity? Infinite god?!
