I just got my Rx for Latisse today, so naturally I came to YT to learn what to (not) do! 😂. I love the tip to put the drop in the cap! And the fine eyeliner brush is great! Did my first dose tonight, top lashes and brows… 🙌

Don’t even squeeze the bottle. let the drop just fall into the cap. You will still have enough to lightly tap through your brows

@@harriet-ek6xf my results are great! I started seeing a change at about two months. Now, at 4.5 months they are visibly longer. I switched to the generic version after the first bottle ran out, and it performs the same but at a fraction of the cost.

I will say though that since I stopped doing it my bottom lashes are not at all keeping up with my top lashes. But I am definitely not wasting product where it is probably transferring from my top to my bottom lashes much.

Coffee with Carey for sure lol. It’s taken me some hard trials (specifically with retin a and skin care in general) to learn more is not necessarily better. I am waiting for my rx latisse to ship to me in the next few days and I truly appreciate you sharing your hard earned wisdom lol because I would totally do what you did. I do however, have a spot on my hairline that is thinning and I was thinking about running the brush over that spot after applying the latisse to my lashes so that whatever residual solution is left can perhaps stimulate growth in that spot. Just like you would with your eyebrows I suppose.

She had to have small hairs there to grow. Latisee is not a hair grower per se. It works by lengthening growth cycles.

That is exactly how it works. But maybe a cat growing little hairs that I normally get there that are blonde and made them long enough where they became dark…? I don’t know… it just happened! Why would I make it up? lol

I have not seen any data to suggest it is more than small improvements or imagined improvements. So I have not. But I do love my little $3 scalp massager in the shower. It feels good plus I think it probably stimulates my scalp and removes product buildup. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been using the other (plastic) end of my brushes and just gently dab my lash line. That way you use up the brushes and only need to use tiny bit on a drop. I’ll try the mini eyelash brush when I finish those up. I don’t know if I am paranoid but I think my dark circles are worse!

Thank you so much for the valuable information. Did you experience any loss of fat around the eyes/sunken eyes? It's often mentioned that it's a side effect of prostaglandin.

But do you use tretinoin where you have to apply Vaseline to your eyelids? I know this was highly recommended to do to protect the eyelids and I’m worried about it coming into contact with the eyelashes if they’re already dry from the Latisse, they should be OK but I don’t know if the Vaseline will affect the product. I don’t really know anyone who would have this answer either. I’m shocked because I know that there are tons of people who use both products but I have not seen a video that mentions anything about using them together or Vaseline on the eyelids coming into contact with Latisse

unless you love false eyelashes it sounds like Latisse was made for you, if it’s in your budget. And if you take my advice that bottle will last you forever; it’s over a year and I am still on bottle number two!!!

Nope, no bad side effects,just positive ones. But good that you know the risks. I don’t think they are as common as the media would have you believe- especially the changing of eye color.

@@CoffeewithCarey I just left dermatologist with my first bottle of Latisse. She said she has never had a patient with eye color change, and based on what she has read and heard from other doctors, they would guess the odds of that are less than 1% for blue and green eyed people (I love my green eyes) who use the ocular drops form of latisse. She said she would imagine that the odds are much lower if PROPERLY applied just to upper lashes as recommended. She recommended taking “before” photos, and then follow up photos every two weeks in the same room, same bright lighting and at same time of day. She said That in the rare event there should be a color change, I should notice before it goes too far in the brown/muddy direction. Evidently it usually starts as flecks of brown in the iris. As to the other side effects such as darkening of lids, she hasn’t had any patients complain of that either. I am really hoping this helps my sad old eyelashes recover some of their glory, without sacrificing my green eyes. Thanks for your video!

My pleasure. I don’t have any darkening of my light brown eyes, but I do have an almost permanent eyeliner of brown along my lash line on my lid these days. Im rather enjoying it. Also, I think she has a great idea to take photos every two weeks I did not, so I had no comparison for the progress. Just make sure to toss out those fluffy brushes!!

Oh honey im a freaking bozo the first time i used it i put 1 full drop in each eye 😂 i thought my eyes were dying 😂 im such a bozo and im an ophthalmic assistant it should never go in the eye 😂 i had a good talk with the md ophthalmologists i work for lol i thought that because they were prescribing the drop bimatoprost with out the name lattise stuck to it without the applicators and then its only 40 something dollars with the coupon if u can have your dr prescribe it like that so i thought it was a drop in the eye lol but no its as you said use your own applicator thank you for doing this video hugs your so great i did what u did hun i put it on my bottom lashes for 3 days now thanks to your video i will stop. I just turned 40 i will check out your vids i loved this 1. Hugs i subscribed :-)

I was used for glaucoma. It works on existing hair, it doesn’t provide new hair. Is recommended to use the sterile brushes it comes with each per eye to prevent bacteria in your eyes.

If you watched the video I explain that different doctors recommend different things. The sterile brushes it comes with are a waste of the product. I don’t throw away my mascara wand after every use. Or my eyeliner brush. I recommend throwing away those fluffy cheap brushes. And it DOES provide new hair. I have brow hairs where I did not before.

What could that even look like? It’s like asking me if you can be too rich? As long as you are kind and loving and maintain your good values no such thing as too rich. Same with lashes. If they get too long just brush them up over your forehead and blend them in with your hair on your head. 😂

My concern is that they tell you to wash your face before applying Latisse but then you’ve gotta wait for your eyelashes to dry in case they get wet in the process. I already have to wait for my moisturizer to dry before applying tretinoin and I don’t wanna be standing around for an hour before I can go to bed based on all the gaps that need to be between everything. I’ve never paid that much attention to. Whether my lashes got wet when I wash my face, but I’m gonna guess The answer is yes. I just never paid attention to it before because it’s been forever since I used Latisse. I’m not wearing make up during the day so I don’t have to worry about cleansing my eyelashes, but I do worry that Water may get on them when I’m washing my face. What’s your routine? And if you use tretinoin, how do you space things out? Thx!

I wash my face an hour or so before bed. wait 20 mins then apply skin care and latisse. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@CoffeewithCarey I learned something interesting. Both of people I get my Latisse from and my tretinoin (two different companies) recommend applying Latisse first and waiting 15 minutes before applying tretinoin and then I follow with moisturizer. They said if your Latisse is dried, there will be no issues with Vaseline. I probably won’t end up using it on my eyelids, but they said the purpose of it is to protect them in case the product travels upward. I still don’t see how I could jump over your eyes, but go figure.🤷‍♀️

I don’t know. I don’t remember what my lids looked like three years ago before I started Latisse. Lol. Also, I am older and the lids darken anyway as you age. I’m not sure what to attribute anything to. If you notice any changes you can always stop immediately.

I don’t believe so, but I don’t claim to be an expert. I suppose one bottle would be an interesting experiment, but I would not have high expectations. I feel that my brows are fuller because each hair follicle is maintaining a hair for a longer period of time. But if there are no follicles to begin with… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes. Very similar. But people asked me for some before and after photos which I included in this newer video. I am sorry you didn’t find the newer version first. I can’t go back and delete the old one. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am glad you will be saving product with my frugal application process. ;-)

My understanding is that what the Latisse is doing is lengthening the lifecycle of an eyelash or hair. So if you stop lengthening the time they are growing (by no longer applying) they just go back to being our plain ol’ shorter eyelashes again. Lol

You don't need a prescription from a doctor anymore. They give you the doctor consult right when you order it.

I’ve noticed that some of the eyeliner brushes make travel size ones and I remember back when I used Latisse regularly years ago that The shorter handled one were easier to use because you could get closer to your eye without having to angle and maneuver the brush with a longer handle. Do you have any issues with using longer brush?

I can definitely get in there, but i agree. The shorter the handle the better. Do you know anybody with a saw? ;-)

I’m having a hell of a time finding a short handled eyeliner powder, brush. Might just pull the trigger on a Mac one as they’re on sale at Nords. All of my stuff is in storage so I’ve been having a rebuy things which is a real pain in the butt. I couldn’t tell how long the edge of your brush was. Is it more stiff or loose? The Mac one is thin and long, but looks pretty loose. It’s meant for eyeliner should should be fine for that but I don’t know how good it’ll be at getting it on my brows. I had a thick angled brush that did much better job at that.

Do you use much on your brows? The whole left side of my eye brow was over plucked which is why I think I probably could benefit from an angled one.

Am I understanding you correctly that you use 1 drop per eye/eyebrow or 1 drop for both eyes/brows? Did you get a 5ml bottle? Thank you :)

1 drop total per nighttime. My first bottle was 5ml my second bottle was 3ml and just today i ordered my third bottle. 8mls lasted me 14 months!

The Problem is that I do not live in the US . And I couldn’t find this product anywhere in Austria. Even the linked website doesn’t sell it out of the US. Could you please sell me the product personally?

I’m sorry to hear that. No I couldn’t possibly. It’s a prescription and needs to come from a doctor. Maybe try googling the main ingredient..? It may just have a different name by you. “BIMATOPROST”

Good question, but I don’t know the answer. I have never used false lashes. I am always afraid of losing lashes with the lash glue and after putting in all the time and effort to get a longer life cycle out of my Latisse lashes I would hate to lose even one to stubborn glue

Just use the eyeliner brush before bed every night, and then eventually every other night, and eventually every third night, rinse the brush in hot water, put it away and go about your life as normal.

oh nooooo. But i’m glad I could be of service. I treat it like it’s gold. And it always goes in exactly the same place in my bathroom drawer. Last thing I need is the cats playing with it and giving it to the dog. The cat always steals my brush that I leave drying on the bathroom counter. 🙄

Thee deal about growing new hair sounds mmmm... untrue. Not an accusation, just doubtful. Anyway, if that product were a bona fide hair growth product, we'd use it to GROW new hair. Latisse conditions for growth. If you had small hairs growing under your bottom lash, there is a chance. I wish all these stories were accompanied by proof we could see. Did you take a picture? That would have seemed a good “proof”. Anyway, I am a sceptic by nature, but forge on. Cheers and good luck!

Go ahead and try using it as a ‘bona fide hair growth product’ …at those prices! Lol $100 a treatment and you have to use it every night to every other night (eventually). My eyebrows where I brush the excess are much thicker at that tail now. But I do understand what you are saying it is supposed to extend the length of the hair growth process keep them from falling out. But I have not had any more of those tiny crops of dark hairs since I stopped applying to my bottom lashes and now put them on my brows instead. Welcome to Ripleys. Believe it or not. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Latisse is a prescription drug--not a regular cosmetic product. However, if you mean that it does not increase the amount of hair strands, you are right. Latisse will not increase the number the follicles of hair; it just extends the growth cycle of preexisting lashes. It is not a question of whether Latisse works or not (it probably will if your doctor prescribes it), but the main concern is whether or not the long lashes are worth it because Latisse (or the generic version CareProst) can have very concerning side effects due to the prostaglandins present within it.

Why can’t you just do as you please and allow others to do what feels right for them? If a skin cream that keeps your cells from building up and regenerating, and encourages collagen growth as it slows down, is too much skin care for you then feel free to keep your old skin cells around!
