Good review. I wasn't planning on upgrading anything this season but I really dig how flat they stack together. Might be reconsidering...

I’m waiting for mine to ship and they can’t get here soon enough!!! Ordered mine back in Feb so the anticipation is building. I need them for a hunt in late August so getting close. Glad you did video though cuz you showed the full function and something you don’t see in shot show and promo videos. I might be doin some one sticking to but sometimes multi sticks are better option and the weight you can’t beat on these sticks!!!

@@NextStepOutdoors I haven’t done it before either but I was a licensed arborist back in the day so I did some SRT/DRT climbing on the private tree work we did and that’s not a big stretch to one stick. Now I don’t believe I could do the SRT/DRT thing now nor do I think I could it quietly so gonna try the one stick thing. Now I believe this to be an early season/warmer weather thing for me. I live in ME so cold weather is assured during our deer season and I think one sticking is gonna require just a bit more effort for me at least so need multi stick option. Also there are a lot of trees I’m not sure I could one stick even if I wanted to with limbs everywhere and crooked as hell. Also I’ve hunted with a climber foreva and if you do know where your goin or have a preset tree it’s doable but a saddle and one stick for those trees would be even better as it weights 20lbs less!!!!

Can't wait for mine to ship. How are they when stacked for transport? I saw a stacking attachment from Genesis 3D made specifically for these sticks, so I'm considering purchasing if sound is an issue when transporting.
@NextStepOutdoors
@NextStepOutdoors 11 месяцев назад
They come with a strap that I think will work well to hold them together while transporting. I've been playing around with just stacking them and use the amsteel rope on the top stick to wrap up the rest of them. It has worked really well and that way I don't need any additional straps, etc.

How much do these weigh vs say hawk helium minis? I’m always looking to lighten my set up, especially for getting to spots deep into public.

They are much lighter. A hair under 1.2lb compared to 2.5lbs for the hawks.

@@NextStepOutdoors damn, that’s a massive difference. I’ll have to look into them! I went scouting with my saddle and sticks last week to finalize what trees to sit and by the end I was dragging ass.

Is there any room to grab ahold of the step while climbing up/down?
@NextStepOutdoors
@NextStepOutdoors 11 месяцев назад
You can definitely grab the steps. There's just not a ton of room to wrap your hand all the way around it if that's what you meant due to the way the standoff is designed. You can grab the post tho too.

I've tried on a handful of different trees and sizes including some weird curvy ones and they did well. Have not tried them in the rain yet but expect them to bite solid still.

@NextStepOutdoors 11 месяцев назад
I didn't have any issues. Rarely do I ever use a flashlight going up or down in the dark (do this at your own discretion) but I don't foresee having any problems even in real low light. Was running a versaaider before which was a little more tricky and still didn't have issues.

How are you attaching them to your saddle while climbing?
@NextStepOutdoors
@NextStepOutdoors 11 месяцев назад
This was the first time I climbed with them and just hooked them to a tiny caribeaner on my right hip with the amsteal connecting to one of the cleats. It worked really well but I am going to play around with a few other things. With other sticks I usually make a little loop of 1/8" bunjee shock cord and have one on each stick and hook that to my caribeaner. I'll make another video here soon showing how I mod them out to fit my system best.

No flex for me. I weigh 220lb. Attachment method was a nice change from the Amstels daisy chains I had been running on previous sticks. Seemed to bite well even on some goofy trees. So far so good.
