Thanks for the review on the X wing! Been watching this platform for a little while. Audio sounded great to me. Don’t know if it was my headphones or not but didn’t hear any background noise at all for the whole video.
I took the curve piece of an aluminum 4wheeler ramp and cut two 2.5x2.5 pcs and added to that back wing. It gave my a 45 degree angle. Just enough to rest my feet in comfort. I also added 2.5 inches of light aluminum on the end of the platform. This gave me more room as far as total width for the platform fir my feet. It really made a huge difference and added Very Little weight.
Got one on the way and a set off bullman ring steps, so hopefully it turns out nice. Got a brand new onyx platform also, but since im running everything latitude, i ordered the wingman. I will say it might help to drop the strap lower on back of tree b4 trying to toe hook it
I've got the Rebel platform. What I noticed about kick out is that it primarily happened when i was on a pine tree. On an Oak, it was barely noticeable. When I installed the ring of steps, I get a rock solid platform. What you are saying about the button placement I believe is dead on. Perhaps the folks at Latitude will take that into consideration. Great platform though. I appreciate your review.
I only run a ring of steps period. But this platform has interested me , because I hunt some areas of willow trees along a lake and all the trees lean towards the lake , and it’s a paint using them on trees that aren’t straight.
Still running the huntworth hickory. I've yet to find something to beat it. Check out my review below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kmYqxzboN34.html
Audio was fine, review it's great, as I've come to expect from you. The Xwing seems neat, but I'm not understanding the benefit over a standard or stick-top platform and ROS. The price is also shocking to me, literally paying more for less (I understand development, supporting small business, etc). Not trying to be negative, it just doesn't make sense to me. Beauty of the world though, something for everyone.
I just find the solid pegs to a great place to rest my feet and sit comfortably. Ring of steps always wobble or feel loose unless I used wild edge steps. Which I loved using that way but they are such a pain in the ass lol. But if what you hot works for you, don't fix it. I appreciate the kind words
