I can’t overstate how refreshing it is to have Rugirls be interviewed about THEIR LIVES and THEIR PASSIONS and not “would you go back on the show??? Do you have any behind the scenes tea??? Any drama with girls on your season???????” WGI national finals ‘19 was the best weekend of my life and it’s so inspiring to see someone talk about guard with the same reverence I have for the sport (of the arts☺️).
Maddy's clearly genuinely interested in her guests as a person. As a gay man, I admit that if a gay person conducted the same interview, he would focus all about himself and ways to get the dish or the tea or whatever it's called.
This one was next level though. Maddy got someone to track down their yearbook from decades ago to get those two pictures. And that's not even all of it.
I think the best part of the interviews with the queens who’ve been in the mainstream for a while is that you can tell they’ve gotten accustomed to the questions they expect to get, so Maddy’s deep cuts catch them especially off guard. I feel like I’ve learned more about Latrice from this interview than every episode of Drag Race she’s been on, it’s so good.
Exactly! It must be refreshing for the queens to be interviewed by someone who has clearly done her homework. It shows there was serious time and effort put in. And then to pair that with some wit and humor. The guests never saw Maddy coming!

My favorite part of Maddy’s interviews are when the guests gag at the research she’s done. “WHERE DID YOU GET THIS?????” “HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?????” It never gets old lol
I found this very moving. Latrice went to jail for a really minor offence which shows how corrupt the US justice system is when it comes to the incarceration of African Americans. Thanks for sharing your story Latrice. I'm on your side.
A lot of people (including queens) looked down on Maddy for being straight, and I love how she has earned her audience with her talents and dry humor without the need to fight to defend herself. She just showed her value and people loved her for it. I can’t wait to watch this episode! 💕
For real! I was skeptical at first but Maddy didn't get defensive, owned who she is with a couple fun nods and winks on her season, and let her talent speak for itself. Respect.
I hope that Maddy keeps this show independent and doesn’t get bought out by WOW. WOW would want full editorial control, so we wouldn’t get some of the most interesting stories like Latrice’s prison details, Rock’s escort work to pay for her drag race package, or Jade’s stint on Dragula.
Drag artists take the ugliest parts of their past trauma and turn it around into something beautiful and empowering. That's been the consistent life of all Maddy's guests, that's why these queens are amazing at their craft.

This was SO GOOD. All the research just shows how much u truly appreciate OG drag legends like Latrice and all the others. From an outsider perspective of someone who is not in the drag scene, this feels like a gift for getting to know and learning about the lives and fascinating backgrounds of these artists we look up to and cherish so much. ngl crying because Latrice is my all time favorite drag queen, I love her so much, season 4 was the 2nd season of drag race I ever watched as a teenager and as a young very round trans girl seeing someone as bold, big and beautiful as Latrice was a huge inspiration for me, and she continues to inspire me to this day, she's just amazing! 💖✨

Maddy is usually able to stay in her character in these (which I looove, she’s so quick with her cold reads) but you can tell that she was genuinely excited to talk to Latrice. You can tell she keeping it professional, but really respects and looks up to her ❤❤❤
The amount of research and just straight-up PASSION for these queens is obvious. Maddy knocks it out of the park each and every time, and I'm always amazed. If there was hot sauce involved, I swear I was watching Hot Ones with the level of professional questions and deep dives into the queen's background there are.
As a first gen boy color guard member, I relate so much to Latrice. I fought my director tooth and nail and was able to do winter guard but was never able to do marching band guard. So many boys started doing it in the years after I graduated and it warmed my heart they were getting the chances I was never given.

Latrice is the entire reason I solely started focusing on my drag career. I saw her in a haters roast before ever even exploring drag race or drag in general, with jinx and a few others- it totally changed my perspective on comedy, community and at the time gave me something that felt like I belonged. it’s the first time I ever wore a dress, and the moment that set off everything for me. So thank you Latrice Mothertuckin Royale for being you and never stopping. I hope your drag and light continue to inspire others like it did me.

Rupauls Dragrace introduced me to Maddy and her heterosexual journey with drag. But her show Give It To Me Straight that's when I fell in love with her! I'm so happy for Maddy and her acceptance from the other queens. Her makeup and garments have really become more polished. I support you, baby, and watch your show religiously. ❤❤

Maddy you're such a good interviewer and I hope you stick with the clear hard work and dedication you put into each interview (assuming it's sustainable for you of course). There's no other avenue to get to know these queens better and highlight their character and delightfully human qualities in a way a highly edited reality TV show could never do.

Definitely one the best episodes of this series so far. I would love to see Maddy interview some drag kings and contestants from Dragula. We all know that production won’t cast a king or treat them right if they do get casted. This could be a chance to bridge that gap a little and get kings some very much deserved recognition

as soon as she said traffic violation and indiana, i knew it was a speed trap. the amount of highways that go back and forth between 65 and 55 here for no reason at all is absurd. even the amount of stretches of interstate that are 60-65 for no reason is crazy.
These shows have changed how i see Maddy. Im glad we got to see more of her personality than we saw on her season . Enjoy her interviewing style and humor. Keep them coming

Maddy is so so ridiculously good at this. Her entire social media game has been 10's across the board. Imagine her in an allstars with her youtube money.. she'd be most improved of all time between seasons at least.
