So, I was doing my business in town and this bird started to court me, then he flew to my head and I had to bring him in the house because he kept ignoring other feral pigeons and only tried to mate with everyone's heads. Since people tend to not appreciate pigeons clawing their face, he was getting slapped and kicked around, so I thought it was safer for him if I brought him out of the streets.
Someone probably hand raised him, screwed him up, and now all he do is try to mate with people's heads and ignore other feral pigeons. Then this person decided to abandon him because he got tired of his territorial aggressiveness and he ended up in my house since he has no clue how to survive in the wild and he's too confident with not-so-friendly humans.
I thought pigeons were either pests or food. Now I think they're the best pet birds. However be warned, if you bond with a pigeon, you are supposed to be its mate, and they mate for life. And being a pigeon's mate is a serious business. Not to mention they are as smart as a 3 years old kid. And they love to bite. They bite all the time so be warned about it.

To everyone telling me to "get him a female" READ THIS. This pigeon was rescued in the wild because he spent all day mating with random people's heads and getting kicked and slapped away. He had LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF FEMALE PIGEONS AROUND BUT HE IGNORED THEM. All he wanted was PEOPLE. He had to be rescued because he was going to get killed sooner or later. This pigeon was hand raised by some asshole who then abandoned him. He's not releasable and he will never be a normal pigeon. If you think you're the best rehabber in the world and you can fix him, then come here and do your magic. I'll be glad to give Latte to anyone who can give him better life condition than what I do because all I want for him is to live the happiest life possible.

Probably like my budgie, who was also handraised and didn't quite understand she was a budgie at all. I got her friends and she didn't care about them at all, she just wanted to be with me. This little guy probably also thinks he's a human.

Pigeons are so sweet...I had one who loved me like the one from the video loves his owner...I took him home from a busy street when he was still a baby unable to fly, I was afraid that someone steps on him, a dog or a cat could have eaten it... He survived, grew up and was the most lovely pet I have ever had...

rehabbers feed the pigeons to their raptors. 90% of them won't waste their time with a pigeon and won't accept it, or if they do accept it they'll kill it anyway because it's a waste of their resources.

My pigeon does this when she's randy!, she wants loads of love before laying an egg, then while sitting on her egg, she won't let anyone near her, only me. So I am her mate! She's the most wonderful pet, and if you ever have opportunity to take in a pigeon, I highly recommend it. They are definitely not rats with wings, they are sentient beings.

I have a pigeon and he does the exact same thing, but i did get him pigeon pants which are basically pigeon diapers and they are really funny and helpful.

They’re smart and willful. I rescued a beautiful, “fancy” pigeon (Dutch Capuchin) who was out in freezing February weather. He wasn’t courting, but was quite annoyed with me when I wouldn’t let him sit on my head. I brought him to the Wild Bird Fund rescue center in NYC. They found him a good home, and I was so happy for him.

They can be white but most of the pigeons you see in streets or cities are wild type also known as blue bars but domestic pigeons can come in a whole bunch of colors! like all white, grizzle, recessive red and much more!

I have a white ringneck dove that does the exact same thing that yours does! I adopted him from a rescue for free and he was quite timid and stuff but after a few months we were able to rid him of his cage and let him have free range. This was when he started to warm up and would follow me everywhere, even perching on top of the toilet when I took a bath! When he wants cuddles he lifts his wings for me to pet his little "armpits". He is so attached to me now, I often take walks with him cuddled to my chest. People are shocked how loving he is.

A lovely bird! Pigeons and crows make great pets! We rescued, raised and released a pigeon a while ago and now we have a crow that is imprinted on us!

That is a beautiful story! Truer love never existed! He is lucky you came long. I imagine it is a huge responsibility being his constant companion. He is a very beautiful and unique color. The more of your videos I watch, the more I love your little buddy. The 3 I've got that look like him are named Sweet Pea, Speckley head, and Baby Butt, in order of size and estimated age. Latte looks like he'd fit in between Sweet Pea and Speckley head. They would look like stair steps and anybody would probably swear they all hatched out of the same nest at different times. You are blessed to have such a cool bird to be your pal. They are to be loved and cherished, without a doubt.

I have looked after a few pigeons before. There is a bridge by my house i used to have to walk under to get to the public pool. I found 4 pigeons there. The first time i found a fully grown female pigeon i called pidge and she had a fractured wing. Then i found 2 baby pigeons, im assuming they where brothers since they where cuddled together in some tall grass by the bridge. Then i found another baby on his own. I nurtured them back to health and then took them to a place called freshfields animal shelter. They are such kind people, since normal animal shelters would just euthanize pigeons, since they are considered vermin. But freshfields just looked after them and let them go into a huge forest, probably a better place than near main roads. But i remember the male baby pigeon, he was so tame. he literally just sat on my shoulder. He was perfect ♥

If you're not vegan and buy meat at the grocery store, you're harming animals 1000 times more than hunters. Intensive farming animals have miserable short lives, and never see the light of the sun, and never know the beauty of mating. At least hunted animals live their life happy and free and mate for as long as they live, and they surely live longer than any farm animal that is killed for mcdonalds. Please stop buying meat at the stores, kill your own food if you want to eat meat, and if you don't feel like killing your own food go vegan. If you don't go vegan and complain about people who kill their own food you're just an hypocrite.

Altair I hope to kill my own food so I can pick older animals and kill them quickly and make sure they don't suffer... I'd use every bit of their bodies and make sure not to waste them because I honor the life taken... that and I'll know that they lived a nice, long life before they died... ^w^ I love meat and animals and though I eat meat... I prefer I know how it lived and that it was happy and lived it's life to the fullest before death... because animals deserve a long and happy life... and though we eat them... we should be patient and wait for them to be happy... honestly... they both taste better and the satisfaction of knowing they had a long and peaceful life is enough... I respect those who are vegan and will eat more salads and plant based foods if they wish since I understand they don't wanna see a dead animal... but I myself won't go vegan for many reasons... but yeah... I hope this world can learn to care for animals in an honest and loving way... we may eat them but it doesn't mean they should suffer just to be put in our mouths...

I only eat meat once a month and I always make sure to farm my own meat and give my animals the best life possible, or I buy organic meat from a farmer I trust and I know he cares for his animals. I never NEVER NEVER for any reason buy meat at grocery stores or at fast foods. That's the real animal abuse.
