Kim, thank you for being so honest & real about your anxiety. As someone who also deals with anxiety I really appreciate you bringing awareness to it & the fact that it doesn't discriminate - I also feel incredible blessed to have all I do but often struggle with anxiety without people realising.

I could not believe what you were sharing! I feel the same way (cry, feel blessed, struggle with anxiety/depression) right down to the closet full of clothes I no longer wear cause I wear almost the same clothes every day too. You guys are so relatable, creative and funny. Thank you for sharing your life. It makes me laugh and smile through the tears.

I really appreciate your openness about your anxiety and staving off depression. Several of my kids have anxiety and panic attacks. That's not something that I have experienced, so I find it hard to understand. I've learned to be supportive and have tried to help them find strategies that work for them. They're all adults now and mostly know what helps them to calm down.

Hi Kim! As someone who has been diagnosed and been hospitalized with mental illness, I really appreciate you talking about your own struggle with anxiety. Yes, mental illness can affect ANYONE; it doesn't matter who you are, where you live, or what kind of life you have. It's actually a bit refreshing to hear that you are dealing with things like this, and you see us, because you've been there yourself. We see you too, Sister!

Kim, I love that you are being so real with us all. Heck yeah! Let’s hang out every week! I don’t deal with anxiety much. Yes. I know. I’m blessed. But when I was working, caretaking my mom (dementia) on my own, and having health issues of my own, I think I did have anxiety and stress that I really did not have time to deal with. I really believe this was the main cause of my own health issues. I love that you are talking about it. That is healthy. It also helps that Penn is aware of your issues.

Kim I really appreciate your sharing how you cope with your anxiety and depression. I struggle with the same. February I had a friend pass away who I’ve known since I was eight years old. And I didn’t mean to but I lost my hold on the pretend calm at my doctors office last week. But since then I have developed a stronger ability to maintain my balance. It’s OK that we interact with each other with our pretend calm but is also helpful to see we are not alone in our struggles. This video was an encouragement to me and I thank you for that. I have a non-progressive form of cancer so my doctor was a little like what are you crying about. And I have to say I’m very thankful, it was the loss of my friend, which unbalanced me, not sure why that was hard for MD to understand.🙃

Kim , you are amazing and strong. I have lived with clinical depression since I was 14 (40 years yikes!). Over the years, i went through denying it existed , to admitting it to myself but hiding it from everyone around me. Now, i openly accept my mental health as part of who i am. I take my happy pill every day and realize it is a lifetime journey that i share with millions of others. I have come to realize that nobody walks this path alone and even the darkest shadows have friends that are willing to help me back into the light.

Kim - I have a Vacation List that has everything I will need while I'm away. So I don't have to stress out about forgetting something important, which could potentially ruin a fun vacation (think: phone/laptop/dSLR battery chargers, padded biking shorts, alarm clock, medications, etc). Then as I pack, the item gets crossed off the list. Makes the process go a lot smoother. I appreciate your honesty. 'Kim alone' time should not be underestimated, considering how busy you guys are.

Kim, these videos where you all share a day in your lives are some of my favorites, and it would be wonderful to get to “hangout” next week too! Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability about your anxiety. As someone who struggles with ADHD, anxiety, and misophonia, hearing your testimony of your experiences with anxiety as well as reflecting on the fact that anxiety does it discriminate is very encouraging to me. When I am my most anxious or ADHD, I often start to beat myself up mentally with thoughts of “You should just be able to do this” or “There is no reason for this” or “You’re just being pitiful” - just all these thoughts that see the abnormalities of my feelings and struggles as compared with the actual circumstances and how other people often handle them. You are right though that anxiety does not discriminate, that even if life is great and you a privileged there can still be crippling underling fear. One thing that helps me so so much with my anxiety is my relationship with Jesus Christ and reading such passages of the Bible as Psalms 91 and Matthew 6 or 1 Peter 1-2 (which talks about how or ultimate and I saving hope is found in Jesus). I remember in one of your amazing race podcasts you said “We love Jesus, but we cuss sometimes” (or something along those lines, haha) so I thought I would share this which helps me have internal peace. (one of the fruits of the spirit, thank the Lord!) I am so sorry this was so long and rambling, but again, thank you for sharing and being so honest! I pray God continues to help comfort you and give you peace that surpasses understanding!

I love the message Kim shared at the end about anxiety does not discriminate. One of my least favorite phrases is when someone says "that is a first world problem". It implies that our anxiety or problems are less real or not allowed just because we are lucky in some ways. Your problems may be different than mine but they are real to us.

As a kid on vacation we all fell in the White River and got our clothes wet. Since we had no more clean clothes with us, my grandfather held our underwear out the window to dry as we rode down the highway so they would dry enough to put back on for the rest of our day. I now always travel with two pairs per day plus a few extra, same with socks. You never know what the day holds, but I know mine will most likely not include air drying underwear out the car window ever again!

Laughed hysterically at "overpack my underwear"! 😂 There are at least 3 pair in my car, at least 3 in my Go bag, at least 3 in the emergency preparedness bin in my vehicle and when that overnight trip happens, there are 3 more pair for each day I'll be gone. You do the math!!! Unfortunately, there comes a point in some people's lives that 3 pair a day might be considered normal packing, even when merely taking that 40 minute drive to the grocery store. Oh, and never mind sitting on the floor of the closet: takes to long to get up and head for the john. The stepstool serves the purpose quite well, though. 😉

I am the world's biggest worrier even though like you I am extremely blessed. I'm glad that you are not afraid to talk about this and all of the others that have commented are very brave and honest too. The guilt about feeling depressed with so many blessings can be overwhelming as well. I hate traveling even riding in a car let alone driving or flying. But I have a good time once I'm there. I think the best thing about being somewhere is the fact you love the home you are going back too. For my anxiety I pray a lot and take comfort that He is God and I am not so whatever happens is in His hands and He will help us through it. I too have a quiet place to pray and reset. So thumbs up to all of us whether it's a closet or a hiding place or just alone time to do what we need to do to feel better. 👍

Life's struggles are truth and its made more difficult when you are battling depression and/or anxiety. Life isn't a box of chocolates. It's more like the lint trap in your dryer that you have to keep on clearing out after every use so it doesn't clog everything up and just lose everything.

I love your new vlog videos! Comedy/music videos are fun but getting to see more of who you are when you’re not playing a role is wonderful too. Thank you for trying this even though you’re not 100% comfortable with it. My husband and I love your channel 😘

YES! Lets keep hanging out! I love this feeling of hanging out with you during your week. Youre so real and honest and that's great to see on this platform. As someone who suffers from anxiety as well, I can relate to just wanting to hide and cry sometimes. Thank you for showing all sides of your life and being so open!

I really like these vlogs! Please keep doing them! Hearing you as another woman speak so openly about your mental health challenges has made me more confident to own up to mine. Thank you, Kim!

Kim, your closet is one of the most sound absorbing locations in your house. One of your anxiety triggers may too much sensory stimulation. This could explain why you like your closet. You might want to try a sensory deprivation tank. My cousin enjoyed reading her school assignments in her closet. She said she could concentrate better. It helped her focus and stay focused.

I think the closet feels like your own space, a safe space to be left alone to decompress. Yes, let's hang out again next week, too!

Omg thank you for sharing, it's such a relief to know that someone like you who mostly looks like the happiest person, also struggles with anxiety issues (I mean I hope it gets better for you but good to know that not only me shutting the bathroom door, so it's kinda ok) and thanks for the closet talk! This is just so timely and kinda helps to be stronger!
