I have never seen the name in the comment section when you say you will put it in the comment section And yes, I agree the flags should be left up in the yard. It is, after all, 1, a milatry place, & 2, it' London & we should be proud of are flags 🇬🇧🏴
I don't think I have ever seen any of the nippers quit they are too focused on a target lol, never seen them freaked out by anything. I have always had Lyric down as a nipper. Thanks for an entertaining video.
For those of you not in the UK, we have had an update on the injured horses ."Quaker and Vida are enjoying a "summer holiday" with the Horse Trust," the Army said. Three of the horses injured in the incident are now back on duty and, against all expectations, are looking likely to take part in the King's Birthday Parade on 15 June," an Army spokesperson said. Thank you BBC for the update ❤ Two of the injured troopers are still not fit for work, the other injured troopers are already back at work ❤X
@@cherylschantz9893 I think the troopers wish their medical diagnosis to be kept private. As they have not released any details .But I expect bones were #.
I wish most of the horses were like Ormonde. This fella has learnt how to stave off the mauling hands of the public, good for him, Ormonde demands respect & gets it. Love him.
The fact that the trooper is listening in on conversations shows hes a good Trooper doing his job. Always aware. This Trooper is my new favorite Since Ellis left.
Love seeing those two flags flying there and John I totally agree with you they should remain there as its shows that this is OUR Country and we are proud of it and what these guards and military Police do!
That's wonderful news, wish the lovely horses a speedy recovery. What happened to them to get injured, may have missed the news and video when it happened?
I would hope that Ormonde is TEACHING the other horses how to control idiot tourons. They need to learn to RESPECT the Guards and Horses, what better way than the Ormonde way!!!
I love your comment of imagining Lyric, in the adjacent stall, getting tips from Ormonde! Later when you zoomed in on Lyric’s blaze, you captured her keen intelligence, listening intently. Plus her inner beauty shone through her eyes 💫💖
I think the flags hanging in the yard is a beautiful tribute to the brave men who serve their country. It's a reminder to the people visiting that it is the flags for those who lay down their lies in service to Great Britain. I wish more people would learn the history of the country's around the world. It's fascinating.
These guards shouldn't have to hold the horse back from biting them, it's their responsibility to read the sign. How would they like it if someone invaded their space? Keep up the good work Ormonde, King's guard and it goes without saying to you John. Thank you.
And what about the non-English speakers/readers? This piece of tradition is turning into a tourist trap where the public isn’t even protected (with a light touch of the reigns) from being bitten. I’ve been around police horses who would never bite when approached or stroked and they worked more than 1 hr. a week.
Luv how Ormonde commands respect. All the tourists are standing back. Because they know better. Than to mess with Ormonde. John your reference. To Ormonde and the boogieman. Just classic humor. Made me chuckle. I needed that.🤣I luv the nippers. You can't blame the horses. When you have tourists constantly. Invading their personal space and constantly stroking them. Luv the trooper his smile said it all payback. Great job! Luv your commentary and sense of humor.❤️🐴🇬🇧
Having worked with horses all my life I can say that they are absolutely the best at judging people and intents. They are also born people trainers and will teach lessons people need to learn. How often do you see even the worst nipper try and take a bite out of a sick or disabled child, bit they have no qualms about nipping some child who they sense given a chance and mom looking away, will tease or pull on them. If your child gets nipped, then it's probably your fault for never teaching your child respect for animals and because your too busy on social media to watch your child. Since someone with full respect for horses, who knows how to approach, talk to and touch them will earn a kind greeting and a nice head shake the reason that horse wants to clamp down on you and leave a huge welt or rip of your sleeve is not that the horse is a problem- it sees that tourist as one.
Ormonde really wasn't in a good mood. Tense nostrils, brows and pinned ears...woah. The tourists are lucky his trooper was alert and willing to stop his nibbling😅
We need the laughing trooper on Ormonde!!! Can you imagine how much fun that would be? 😂😂😂 I like this trooper!!! Thanks John for another gem!!! ❤❤❤ xxxxx
Ormande really does not like box duty. He certainly lets everyone know how he feels about them! The Met have some very handsome horses too. PS. Monty is a very steady horse and it’s interesting that they have put the new horse out with him. Horses are herd animals so it makes sense. I don’t think the new horse is as aggressive as Ormande. The body language is in the ears with a horse. If they go back flat, beware!
He clearly hates it! I think he's probably a really bright horse, and would benefit from something that engaged his mind a lot more than standing there in front of a load of jabbering humans who are too stupid to read his cues.
I wonder if the kings Guards goes back to barracks and say how many did your horse get to day mine got at least 10 😂 but the elderly children and disabled people the horses are really tender to them
Absolutely every horse trooper and guard troopers magnificent...definitely all got character, some more feisty an love how more and more they insist on their .boundaries and then the moments of acceptance. Sure they have their own animal an human chit chat in stables. Dunno what it is yet I've a serious addiction to watching these glorious troopers, maybe its the closest I'll presently get to these horses. Phenomenal animals... love and respect to all and thanks for videos
Amused at the way the 'supermodels' and their camera poses suddenly get disrupted by a much more beautiful horse! I knew Lyric was a mare, you can see it looking at her. She's really pretty.
Horses far better looking than vain models, who I would'nt refer to as super, just pretty. Give me horses over people any day, they are intelligent, human's are'nt.
John great news from the Army .- We're delighted to share that the soldiers and Military Working Horses injured in London in April, continue to make remarkable progress in their recovery. Absolutely brilliant news
The expression on Ormonde's face be like "Get out of my face oik! I'm working" although I would have worded it a little more colourfully. He actually executes his duty perfectly, he isn't there to amuse people - he's a Trooper. If people didn't get so close to the Troopers or try to paw the horses there would be fewer meltdowns. But then I guess we would miss all the fun of the sneak arracks. 😂
I have always loved horses. As a 4 year old a friend of my older sister had a pony and offered to let me ride it. After chasing it for quite a while they were able to catch it to get me off. The pony then bit my cheek badly. Had nightmares he was coming after me. Parents watch your kids!!! As a side note I own horses and love them dearly but always stay aware especially when others they don’t know are around them.
I adore Lyric! Her eyes are so sweet. She probably bats her lashes a bit before she strikes for a nibble! And goodness, her Guard is an absolute favorite. I loved it when he couldn’t contain his silent laughter 😂 I know he could hear you, John, you were contributing to the shenanigans! 🤣 With love & appreciation from Royal Oak, Michigan, USA 🇺🇸♥️🇬🇧
Excellent part 2 John Ormonde is just something else. Great to see the Guard smiling i wonder what he was saying to himself 😂😂 Thank you John Stay Safe and yes the 🇬🇧🇬🇧 should fly all year round.❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧
You are also a challenge for the Tooper on Lyric. The poor chap has to work hard on his poker face in your presence to stop laughing all the time. Shame on you John ;)
🤣😂John and Trooper "Joe P", you two crack me up. 🤣😂 It's great to see the guard laugh... damn good medicine considering all what's going on at the moment. kiwi 😁
👋 Hi! I’m from a small town in rural Iowa, and am fascinated by your channel. I’ve never been on a vacation at 70 years old, and disabled. This is all new to me. What does it mean when the horse has his head raring back and forth. I’m binge watching your videos. Thank you!!
Not fearless, John, just absiolutely unaware of horse signals - pinnded ears, attempts to bite - how much clearer can an animal be??? Poor creature can't say"I don't want you right up against me, please move out of my space, I don't like it".
@@LynnL3588 I think all these tourists should be staying away from the horse guards and their beautiful horses. It was that tourist's own fault she got bitten. There are warning signs Don't these people even bother to read the signs?
Being American I agree completely, your in another country you should be courteous to your host. And I agree people should read the sign but how many non speaking English tourists can speak much less read English.
@@brendabledsoe6694 think you'll find the majority of them can read and speak english when needed as it would be a bit difficult for them to travel to english speaking countries otherwise - they speak their own language among themselves because it's easier -
John, did you see the video the other day where a Blues Chitsman made himself smile? He had to take action when a pigeon attempted to invade his arches. 😂🤣😂
I hope Overlord will. Be on duty on Thursday at Horseguards a fitting tribute to D Day 80th Anniversary. Be nice if Monty and Juno could come over as well all having names related to DDay. So nice to hear the update on the injured horses. Thankyou John your videos and commentary get me through a bad day.
With all the practice for Trooping of the Colours all the horses and humans will be pretty stressed by now. They are not really used to all that extra work. Bearing in mind that over winter there have been lots of new troopers both human and horse who haven't really done a big ceremonial parade and display. Little wonder many have unusually short temperatures the moment. All should have calmed down after their trip to the beach. ❤
The signs are there for a reason perhaps they should be on both sides of the boxes. Just watched a video on the injured horses & its wonderful news Trojan, Tennyson & Vanquish are back on duty & will more than likely take part in the Kings Birthday Parade with Vida & Quaker returning in due course ❤️ Looks like they have been having a wonderful time frolicking in the fields.
Seeing first time from the back, Ormonde really is a big horse in this event. The size shows better for me from the back as there is less eye jewelry to distract with flickers of sunlight. I live in Colorado, USA and love your commentary on Horse Guards with all the tourists with quirks and laughter. I have died on some of those naughty displays...well, I'll leave it at naughty displays A thank you from me for providing tons of information on this part of historic London. You have no idea how much these little bits have filled in what I was still short of learning. (I was a History major in university) Interesting tidbit, my husband's family is related (hope I get this right) to the brother of Lord Baltimore for whom Baltimore, Maryland is named. Interesting story but too long for prime time Diana C Colorado, USA.
Gracious good morning to you and everyone! It's to be in the high 80's this afternoon.....a beautiful day in Western Pennsylvania! I was admiring the horses, as I do, and love the way the tails are groomed on all of the horses. Cut straight across and looking so pristine. Just beautiful animals. Have a blessed day! Love you and your country.❤
Ormonde makes smile brights up my day. He has a lot of character and he just wants to be left alone to do his job. Keep away tourists give him his space. Well done John another great video as always 🎉🎉😊😊😊😊
The guy in the hanibal lector mask is there to let ormonde know they do a muzzle for people and dogs they can do it for horses if he carries on biteing people I agree with buska his blaze is a hand with the fingers removed
Not muzzling our Major Ormonde. He makes our day. if idiot tourists can't read signs they should stay at home until they learn our language in UK, no excuse as it's spoken all over the world?
