I've been to Laughlin and would definitely return. It is not hussling and bustling like Vegas but has a relaxed chill. We took a river tour, which was nice. We also visited Oatman, the hotel that Clark Gable stayed at. Casinos aren't as big as Vegas, but your money lasts longer. It's ideal for the older folks.
Sounds like a great trip! Over the years we have done the boat tour on the river, the London Bridge Boat to Lake Havasu City, Oatman and of course love walking the river walk while going into all of the properties. We also enjoy relaxing on the beach area at Harrahs. Love the chill vibe in the casinos and yes, in our experience our money last longer, lol! Thats a nice bonus!
Live in Laughlin. There’s clubs. Nightlife. Yes it’s limited. We are still in the Covid funk. Shortages inflation and limited operations. A great video. Informative and generally accurate. Note to travelers gas in NV is at least a buck more a gallon. Travel into Bullhead City AZ for that if headed further east or south.. i40 access to California or Lake Havasu is fairly convenient.. come to Laughlin. About 11k population.
That’s what I’m talking about! Losers Lounge gets wild on the weekends! I know it’s no Vegas nightclub. But I agree with you. To say that there’s “no nightlife” isn’t accurate. 👍🏼
Thinking about escaping State Farm in California and moving to Laughlin... I hear it gets windy,... perhaps they need a kite store and hobbyist club? Imagine thinking there's 'nothing to do', round the corner and suddenly the windy sky is ablaze with beautifully colorful large 🪁, dragons and all the wonderful from simple to exotic kites dancing⁉️ADHD here and we do think differently. See you there🪁🪁🪁💁🏼♀️
Love Love Laughlin. We always have a great time, free rooms and food if you have a card from the casinos, it helps to use them, cause they really work.
Was at Laughlin 2 weeks ago ❤️❤️❤️❤️ … We will “”TAKE”” Laughlin ANY DAY / TIME .. OVER Vegas … We always stay at Don Laughlins’ RIVERSIDE HOTEL & CASINO … Don certainly had a fantastic idea && plan !!! .. Rest in peace Don❤️❤️🙏🙏💯🌹🌹🤠🤠 … Had Don NOT discovered this area … More than likely there would be NO LAUGHLIN … Thank you for posting this❤️❤️💯 .. First time I came across you on You Tube … LOVE this !!! … Am looking forward to seeing all of your videos .. Thank you ❤️❤️ … Suscribed && LOVIN’ THIS … Happy trails and adventures on LIFES highways 🤠🤠🌹🌹💯💯🙏🙏❤️❤️😂😂🦋🦋🌴🌴🌴🌴🌵🌵 Stay hydrated everyone … The heat is a real scorcher 🔥🔥🔥
There has never been any issues with cell phone service in Laughlin. It is always a good strong signal. It is rarely over 10° warmer than Vegas. Last year we didn't even get to 120° once! I've lived here almost 10 years and I love it!
Been going to Laughlin since my parents took me in the 90s. Even now in my 40s, I do enjoy a getaway. For me, being more relaxed and scaled down from Vegas is a plus. The drive from the Phoenix area is also an hour shorter. I took a friend here as part of a Vegas trip. He had no idea it was there but he also liked it.
"Old school" folks love Laughlin BECAUSE it's not "current day" Vegas with all the nonsense and super jacked up prices and crowds. We want to hang out, drive around the awesome mountains, desert and Route 66 and drink and gamble and eat cheaply. And have a refreshing river running outside our doors!
@@jaysantos536 There was a time where I hadn’t been to Vegas or Laughlin for a while. I went to Vegas in 2009 and thought “Laughlin is nothing like this” because instead of having a river of water in front of the casinos, it was a river of cars and smelly exhaust and loud horns. So after that, I would typically do a 3rd night in Laughlin if I went to Vegas as a way to decompress a little
@@KoubuPilot GREAT comparison! PLEASE do not spread the word to "Las Vegas Tourist" because I want Laughlin (especially the Golden Nugget) as QUIET and sparsely populated as possible for MY visits. I literally pass between zero and five people EVERY time from my room to the casino or out the door every time.
I love staying at the Aquarius. It is a relaxing, safe and enjoyable place to be. I've stayed here by myself , mid age woman 😉, walked around and had a great time all night long. Always felt safe. Probably too much because I stopped paying attention and just meandered around.
FASTRIP is all you need to know. By far cheapest gas in Bullhead and the area. Two stations on "river" side of 95 in BHC. First one is about a mile or two past Veterans Park and the other one is closer to where Bullhead Pkwy runs into 95 juts north of Fort Mojave. Your Welcome!
Golden Valley has good gas prices as well too I wanted to look at their huge flea market but it was closed what caught my attention is you can also feel that Nevada heat in that area as well too but I have no complaints
Awesome video. It was very well put together. I’m 47 and I’ve been visiting Laughlin since I was about 10 years old. I love the breakfast specials at the Riverview Restaurant inside the Riverside. Very good value and delicious food! The Giant ham steak is awesome and the biscuits and gravy are delicious! We used to stay at the Riverside but now we like to stay at Aquarius. If you go over the Fourth of July weekend it is packed with people, but the Fireworks show is absolutely the best I’ve ever seen! I’ve actually met Don Laughlin a couple of times and he seems like a very nice and down to earth guy. If you go, don’t forget to check out the car collection at the Riverside!
Thanks Randall for adding the fact that right across the river are gas stations, food, sam's club. He kind of fell short there. We have T-Mobile have no problems at all with service. Now coming up the hill on 68 there are a couple of miles where cell service drops, but your going through mountains. Lived here 5 yrs. Casino's are nice he missed a couple but pretty good presentation over all. If you don't like crowds like Vegas, I sooo recommend Laughlin😉
Hi Debra, thanks for watching and commenting. We both have iPhones and ATT, maybe that's why we have experienced bad cell service. We thought about including more of Bullhead, but wanted to focus on Laughlin. Thank you again for watching and sharing, we appreciate you and your feedback. We absolutely LOVE Laughlin and will continue to promote it! Aloha, Sebastian
Been to Laughlin 3 times when staying in Vegas from the UK, great for a day trip, love the chilled atmosphere, hope to stay for a few days sometime and enjoy it fully, would recommend anyone staying in Vegas to make the day trip
I love Laughlin I took my family there four years ago to go see KISS at The Event Center we spent the night at The Tropicana my mom and my sisters shared a room I paid for my own because I wanted smoking but was fun I mostly got high and ate much better than drinking and getting into trouble I definitely would love to visit again sometime it's a three hour drive from my town here in Flagstaff, AZ
Harrars and the pioneer are my favorite casino.the coffee shop has great coffee and breakfast.the del rio has a great buffet.the avi casino and hotel south of Laughlin is worth the trip.
Thanks for sharing!! We noticed that Avi had just reopened when we were there in late March. We drove from Lake Havasu City and saw that. Its definitely on our list for our next trip!
Even dated as it is, I really enjoy Harrahs. Love getting a river view room up high and watching a lightning storm pass through. I can easily not even leave the premises
Wow ill be there in a coupe of weeks and agree, so relaxing! We are looking forward to sitting by the River at Harrahs. We will be driving from Vegas and now have T-Mobile so will see if we have any issues. Thanks for watching and sharing Zuri!
Great review! I'll typically stay two nights in Laughlin and two nights in Vegas. I love the relaxing vibe in Laughlin. When driving in it's best to get gas on the AZ side. When I was there in mid May gas was still in the $3's in Bullhead City.
Thanks William, we love that we can take a break from Vegas and stay in Laughlin when we need a break...... First world problems, lol! Thanks for watching and commenting, we appreciate you! Aloha, Sebastian
Nice video. I have been there a lot over the years and love it. Yes it’s not Vegas but that’s what I love about it. (Love Vegas too). Granted there has been quite the down turn since I was there last in 2019. Colorado Belle is shuttered and had great restaurant in the Boiler Room. My preference to go to Oatman is to drive to Kingman and backtrack on 66. The scenery is amazing using that route. You totally forgot the golf courses!
The Laughlin River Lodge is our favorite. Formerly the River Palms. Current owners did a complete remodel (2015?) and it's a Dotty's affiliation with the same relaxed atmosphere. Comfy leather sofas and chairs scattered throughout, a great gift shop (General Store) and several great places to eat. A beach on the river and even a bowling alley. The people in all Laughlin casinos are very warm and friendly but maybe at the Lodge they're just a bit more so.
I live in Vegas, but spent a recent winter in Laughlin. First..it's NOT a 15 degree difference. It's usually about 7 degrees warmer in Laughlin in winter. I've heard Laughlin is crazy hot in July and August. Vegas is also it's hottest then, but Laughlin will be hotter. Visiting from Vegas( about 90-120 miles), it's best to arrive in Laughlin with little gas. Jump across the river and fill up in Bullhead, usually 50-70 cents a gallon cheaper than Vegas gas prices. Oatman is worth seeing. Check out the Oatman Hotel(not a hotel anymore). Decent beach on the Bullhead side. Have river shoes and it's exhilarating to jump in that freezing water in the summer BRIEFLY, then lay back in your beach chair, feeling that hot desert breeze suddenly feeling great:))
Pretty accurate video. I recommend Aquarius, Golden Nugget and Harrahs though even these hotels are only about a 3 star level. Food: recommend Casa Serrano attached to Riverside. Laughlin is a 2nt MAX for us.
We know Laughlin very well and like it’s more mellow and safer environment, plus it’s nice to walk dogs on the river walk, and really my most favorite are the sweet sweet donkeys in Oatmam. BTW, carry more water than you think you will need .
Us too J. We love walking the riverwalk and the chill vibe! Oatman was really cool, but I would have liked to explore the old buildings more. It was really busy when we where there, next time!
100% Agree with you! We were just there a few weeks ago and had to cut through a driveway up to the main road and go round to get back, we just went back to our hotel.
Agreed. Golden entertainment is holding on to it..for???...tax write off??... Plus if and when they do if ever reopen the iconic Colorado Belle they do need to connect the river walk so people dont have to walk thru the parking lot of it.
Wonderful, how was the trip? Sorry for the delay in responding, we have been so busy with shooting for our television show so I've gotten behind in responding, but do see them and really appreciate you taking the time to share. Aloha, Sebastian
Thanks! We went to laughlin a few years ago and are going back this year. This was useful as a refresh! One personal thing: if you're young like me (24 last time) you might get carded constantly. Once sitting in the Pioneer I had a security guard check me every few minutes! I just kept my ID out.
A very well done video. I visit Laughlin about twice a year and you hit all of the highlights. The only thing I would add is that Bullhead City across the river contains grocery stores, golf courses and other amenities. Also gasoline in Bullhead is about 40¢ per gallon lower than Vegas (as of July 2022) and about 80¢ lower than the Laughlin strip.
Thinking of this drive from the Vegas strip, I think I best print out a map before I go, so I don't have to rely on google maps and bad phone service :)
Honestly as a resident and frequent gas burner to Vegas phone service isn’t as bad as reported. GPS or a map 🗺 isn’t a bad thing. Know the Nevada Hiway patrol are out in Laughlin area and always there if you run a little quick.
Several of unincorporated communities are working to be Nevada’s incorporated cities in the future, and they are: Battle Mountain (population 4,000), Dayton (population 15,000), Laughlin (population 10,000), and Pahrump (population 50,000) as in 2020 census figures.
Love laughing 😂 best place to go with with the kids during summer vacation the kids enjoy the hotel rooms and the river.. they get exited when we pack and our way… can’t wait till next summer.. black bear diner is a hit in the bull head city side and cheaper gas..
Make sure you have plenty of gas, water and snacks in the car, also a phone charger. We didn't see any other cars while we were driving. Really cool to see the town and old buildings. Thanks for watching and commenting, we appreciate you!
@@NinthIslandConnection "Make sure you have plenty of gas, water and snacks in the car, also a phone charger?" Oatman to Bullhead City as TWELVE miles. And its 18 miles to Kingman.
The Colorado Belle is sinking and has been closed for quite some time. The Aquarius is our favorite. Definitely get gas in Bullhead City, as someone else mentioned!
Not convenience store...GROCERY store. Best bet is Safeway on the north side of BHC because there is also a DOLLAR TREE in the same center. GREAT place for $1.00 and $1.25 snacks and stuff!
Thanks for the info. We're booked at the Riverside for March so I hope the weather is good at that time (crap shoot). I'm excited to enjoy the balcony views and explore the casinos.
March should be warm, but the river never gets warm, lol. It is relaxing watching the river and there is plenty to explore! Hope you have a wonderful trip and thank you for watching! Aloha, Sebastian
Riverside is still my go place, when I get to the mainland and want to get away from Downtown LV. Old futts like me can really relax. But, never go to during spring break.
Awesome, I'd love Golden Nugget too if I won 9K, LOL! We love Laughlin and cant wait to get back. Thanks for watching and sharing, we appreciate you! Aloha, Sebastian
Re: 6:40, No clubs? I guess you’ve never heard of Losers Lounge, located inside of Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino. It gets crowded and wild their, but no cover charge and for decades it stayed open till 5:45 AM. (But now it depends on if the crowd stays that late). Anyway, I happen to be performing there this week, July 7-10, with the band, Powerhouse!
Hi Jeff, We have been to the Loser Lounge, but it was pretty dead. I cant remember if it was a weekend or weekday, but it was during the summer and the area was pretty busy. We'll have to go again next time we're in town. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Love Laughlin! I've never had cell phone signal issues...haven't been in a couple years, is this a new problem? I have straight talk. Heading there on a junket next week!
I remember staying at Harrah’s over 10 years ago and my phone kept pinging towers on both side of the river just walking between the Beach Cafe and the North Tower (where I was staying). This meant my phone kept switching between Pacific and Mountain time zones (this stay was when there was no Daylight Saving)
Just a suggestion from someone who goes to Laughlin twice every year. Gas in Laughlin is expensive, however just across the river within 10 to 15 minutes drive you will be in Bullhead city, Arizona, gas prices in Arizona are MUCH less then in Nevada or California. So we always drive across the river to fill up before we head home. and also driving the highway south thru Arizona to Needles California is a much nicer ride then thru Search light and the Nevada Dessert. That drive does not add much more time or miles.
Laughlin/Bullhead/Needles are the hottest place in the US 9 times out of 10 if you check the weather reports. Death Valley and Phoenix beat it out on occasion but Needles, which isn't far from Laughlin is the hottest place in the US if not the world. Death Valley only beats it on outlier events but Needles wins in consistent heat.
Glad im not the only one that noticed but the music is so much louder than the voice that you have no idea what is being said. This video is a year old now so I do hioe the newer videos have addressed that.
Hi, thanks for watching and sharing the feedback, we really do appreciate it! We are always looking for ways to improve the viewer experience. This one was weird, the volume was pretty much the same as all of our videos, but for some reason was louder in some spots. Thanks again for watching and sharing! Are you heading to Laughlin?
As long as your only visiting it’s a good place. But as for me I have been living out here a very long time. Always news about someone died (in the past two weeks 4 people have been killed due to people not using jet skis correctly) , stealing ur vehicles from the casinos , car hoping and so much more. I have 4 kids currently pregnant with our 5th baby and we have been ready to leave 5 years now … Great video glad you guys have fun . Just don’t live out here . Lol and yes definitely get gas in bullhead 👍
We've driven past it a couple of times, but never stopped in. They were closed for a long time after the dreaded C-word shut everything down. We stayed at Harrahs Laughlin right after the reopening and did a boat tour to Lake Havasu and Avi was still shutdown. It is definitely on our list to check out. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Since this video was made - like everywhere - they've built cell towers. I'm never without good cell service in Laughlin. On the drive from Vegas you'll only miss service on a small stretch along Highway 163.
First, all the people need to relax about their proof with cellular service. This information is more useful to people that are not natives to Nevada. As a tourist, I ran into this issue quite a bit in Nevada. So, yes it does happen. Second, this was a great video! I'm moving to Nevada in a couple of years for teaching. I'm from Michigan and I absolutely love our beach towns. I'm delighted that Laughlin is only about 90 mins outside of Las Vegas. It is totally my style which is laid back. I love all the water activities that you can do. It is awesome that the Colorado River is the focal point of the city.
Hi Raul! Thanks for watching and sharing, we appreciate you! We love it down there and are actually going next week. We love the chill feel and that we can sit on the beach along the river. Where in Nevada are you moving?
Laughlin is not a safe place to live. Don't let this video fool you. And Nevada has some of the worst education system in America. I lived in Henderson and Las Vegas, it's not what everyone thinks. People come tour, but it's different from actually touring and living here. The moving the Oakland A's baseball team right no the strip, which the locals are not happy about. We already struggling with the Raiders traffic. I am so glad to move away from the Vegas area. But whatever floats your boat. Good luck!
I'm also from Mi. I've been in Vegas for about 14 of the past 15 years. I spent the winter in Laughlin recently. I moved back to Vegas last spring to work. I'm going back to Laughlin this fall:) Vegas isn't Vegas anymore!! Too congested, too expensive. It isn't worth it. Plus, I can visit any time. The drive from Laughlin is a piece of cake:)
@@TheAjcaahi, you posted a year ago about safety and I'm considering moving there as California STATE FARM insurance rates are criminal‼️I noticed graffiti about and other than work and water sports what is there 'to do' for kids. I thought about replacing glass with plexiglass to cut that crime and nobody wants a small battery EV to steal. Thoughts?
We saw that Marlene! There seems to be a Jet Ski rental on every corner and along the river banks. I see a lot of people that look like they really don't know what they're doing!
We've been going to Laughlin for over 20 years. Too bad the Colorado Bell closed. I reallly hope they build another casino there. That was the evening meeting place for everyone. We still go and are going soon. Just love it, but the casinos need a fresh coat of paint.....
Thank you you gave some great information. It truly looks like a place I would love to visit. Do you know how far the west rim of the Grand Canyon is from there?
Valley View in Bullhead City Arizona is the most modern. Here's more information: www.valleyviewmedicalcenter.net/about#:~:text=Valley%20View%20is%20a%20place,Nevada%2C%20and%20Needles%2C%20California.
Your wrong about a few things , cell phone service is fine from Vegas to Laughlin. Also it's good when your there. The temp is not 15° hotter normally. They have big name entertainment indoors and out. Usally on the weekends and in the summer. Do better homework
