There's an episode of spongebob where squidward tells him to forget everything he knows except for fine-dining and breathing. Someone asks his name, and then there's tiny spongebobs in his head running around looking for a name throwing papers out of filing cabinets "WE FORGOT HIS NAAAAAMMMEE!!!!" SKizz, you just embodied the humor in that whole scene with the bubble bee lol

For starters impulse you have a very contagious laugh. I think for you the most common way you make me laugh is by laughing yourself. Skiz is, as he said, a much more on the fly, witty humor kind of guy. His reactions and his ability to make impulse laugh, which then makes me laugh, are something I wish I could do. Throughout this episode I kept track of how many times I laughed or smiled or chuckled. At least 32 times where I genuinely laughed.

A study at UCLA says that at least 65 species of animals laugh. Albeit it may not “sound” like our laughter, but it functions the exact same. Which makes sense due to the fact that other vocalizations are different than ours.

RE: Podcast vocal for animation - That would be amazing on multiple levels. The idea that another animation is one step closer is a start. All content the two of you do together is wonderful. It would let us behind the curtain which is fun for fans but would also be fascinating for someone interested in the actual process. Personally, I'm already impatient to see this. I have absolutely zero doubt it is going to be hilarious. Of course, it will also amplify the anticipation of the final product. Once the dialogue is recorded, if Pookah were to announce a stream and let us watch him put it together would be amazing. Love all your faces, even Pookah. :) ... Feed him more than bread, sheesh. :)

I agree it would be really cool for you to do a behind the scenes for your animation after it is released on so many levels. Doing it as more of a documentary through the whole process, (not just the recording) is cool too! Meaning from the very start i.e. how you come up with the original idea, to writing the script, to recording and then animating. Very ambitious but well worth it. I think a lot of people who want to make content creation their livelyhood need to see the level of work that goes into a project like this. And for the rest it just helps us to appreciate the depth of your talents and commitment even more!

I think it would be awesome to see a video of you guys recording the audio for the animated shorts, BUT the podcast might not be the right place for it. Have you thought about making a full on behind-the-scenes-reel? Like the full process. Skizz could have a bit about him writing the script, then you add in the recording of the audio, and last maybe Pooka could make a bit talking about animation. Anyway, I really enjoyed this episode. So much fun.

The idea that we are the only species to laugh reminds me of our propensity for cooking. I love the moment that an entire room drops silent as they devour your meal. We are the only species who is so socially-food-centric. It's not a word, just making it up, but we all get together under the comfortable canopy of food, music and laughter. The three things that distinctly make us human.....

Laughter is the best part of a day. I have, what my wife calls, a very dark sense of humor. I find in places I probably should. But, IMPULSE is 100% correct, laughter can bring me out of a slump faster than anything else. Actually one of the main reasons I love watching you two. I love the joy and humor that you two just seem to embody. Also, that would be so awesome to hear you record for a short. I would love that.

Both of you guys make me laugh, and when I'm having a tough day, I know I can turn to you (and a couple of others) to brighten my day. You touched on the social aspect of laughter, and that reminded me -- I think some things are only funny with a group, or perhaps in the right context. There are certain movies that I saw in a theater or with friends and laughed my tail off, but when I re-watched them later on my own, I didn't think they were even slightly funny. But other movies, just thinking about my favorite scenes makes me laugh out loud. Not sure what makes the difference. Thanks for all of the laughs, and all of the thought-provoking stuff as well. You two have something special, and I love it.

Heinlein said in A Stranger In a Strange Land that people laugh because it's the only thing that stops the pain. Or, in other words, it hurts too much not to laugh. This is his response to the question of what aliens might thing of laughter. In another vein, animals do laugh, in different ways. Parrots can be taught to mimic laughter, but they have a natural gleeful reaction to situations that is like laughter that they can tie to their mimicking. Which is funny in itself.

For the animated short recording, I think it's off brand for regular podcast listeners. I think it's kind of the same reason that made you guys decide to separate the podcast to its own channel. I think it would be great to have a "Behind the Scenes" long form recording episode, and I would listen to it, but in my eyes I don't feel that it fits the core podcast brand. I think the "Behind the Scenes" needs to be shown to the right audience. You guys can decide whether you think that audience is on the main Imp&Skizz or if they are here. You could also use YT analytics too as a tool to help make that decision, and see what fits best. This is just my opinion, but I hope it helps!

🤔Just for future reference, the “reception” after a funeral is called a wake.****I think a behind-the-scenes of the animation dialogue recording would be interesting and fun, but not necessarily podcast material, and, like outtakes, should be held until after the short itself is published.****Studies have shown that smiling and laughing induce the brain to release endorphins and serotonin and reduce stress hormones, so laughter really is medicine. We really mean it when we tell you that you’ve made our day better. Thank you, again.

You two both never cease to bring joy and laughter. I appreciate your generosity! First movie-based physical comedy- Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. (But physical comedy is timeless.) I don't believe that animals don't enjoy humor because of level of consciousness, I believe that they simply don't understand our jokes because we can't communicate with each other. I have observed cats play jokes on each other. I have seen dogs play with each other in a way that is humorous. The fact that they don't laugh is not the same as they don't understand humor and jokes.

And whether you knew it or not, The part where you explained what was happening with your brains when the Bumblebee incident was being told made me laugh the hardest. As for the animation stuff I always love behind the scenes are always super cool. But maybe just a compilation of snippets of you recording them maybe best- just so you guys can focus on your work and not worry about what kind of content your making 😊But it’s entirely up to you and what you think is best as so far that has been outstanding. @13:17 The Wonderful Mrs. Masiel, Omg one of the best all time mix of drama and side splitting laughter. We've all experienced laughter that brings us to tears. But this particular scene, I won't spoil it but she's doing her bit, well, I've never ever cried from the dramatic impact of a scene, and yet absolute laughter, literlly laughing at her tears if you will while she does her Bit..... Nothing before or after has made me experience that. Even thinking of it now, I'm tearing up and not cause I'm laughing but the emotion of that scene. Highly recommend it!

I wanted to mention the power of laughter. Back in the time between when "The Half-Blood Prince" and "The Deathly Hallows" books came out I had a dream that Harry was fighting moldy Voldy, and for some reason they were in a court room, and Harry hit Volde with the giggling charm, and defeated The Dark Lord with the power of laughter. needless to say i woke up in a very good mood and was giddy all day. :D -- now my opinioin, it would absolutely be SOOO cool if you used a podcast to record the audio for another animated short. but to save time, and keep the podcast feel, i would suggest not doing any of the final polishing, y'know just get enough audio recorded to get the ball rolling, so-to-speak. i find the social science behind laughter interesting. For example, in an office space co-workers fake laughing indicates that they like you as a person and want you to feel the positivity of the joke. Transpose that inclusive behavior of a fake laugh with real laughter at something the is odd or doesn't fit with traditional expectations, i.e. a mascot falling down stairs.

Recording the audio for animation: I agree with Impulse, a lot of people will go "Yeah, that'd be way cool!" but they'd get annoyed like the 5th time you say the same thing with a slightly different inflection. As someone into theatre (live performances) and interested in the idea of doing my own voice acting work (constraints are money for things like a good mic and computer, sound buffers because I live right next to the interstate, etc.) I know how it goes, and I *would* be interested.

First off, Skizz has ammo for defending his "bubble bee" comment, i.e. Impulse, it is not "curve" your behavior, it's "curb" your behavior. There's a famous T.V. show titled something similar to that (wink, wink). Next, I think that if you try to record for your shorts during your podcast you may not act the way you want because you will be scrutinized heavily for anything you do. You know the internet. People who watch your live streams are already used to how you do takes for the YT videos. Those aren't the people you have to worry about. I'm sure the idea comes from trying to make more things fit into your day by combining activities. What ever your decision, it should be what YOU want. Finally, shout out for Th3 Pooka!!! Amazing talent and he complements you two perfectly.

Skizz, there are many creatures that laugh. Humans are not the only ones with the concept of humor. At the VERY least, other primates laugh. Dolphins laugh. Dogs laugh... heck, YOU have a dog that probably laughs when he's being naughty. Cats... well, they don't laugh, they just sit there being superior to you. That being said, seeing you recording the audio for a new animation would be great. But not here. Or at least... label it appropriately. Also, I initially watched your podcast on Friday with someone very dear to me whom I get little opportunity to spent time with. He laughed a lot, and I'm always ready to hear him laugh because it means I get to laugh with him.

If you record you should release AFTER the animation. Not sure id watch all the behind the scenes. Maybe if you recorded the whole thing then spliced in commentary to the best portions of recording it. Behind the scenes is always fun especially the bloopers reel!! Speaking of laughing! Hehehe

I think that would be cool to see the behind the scenes for the animation.

If you liked this podcast, I would like to recommend all of you a book. 'The Humor Code'. It's really good nonfiction book about a researcher and a journalist tour around the world finding answers to various humor related questions

and i'd love to see a bts episode for the voice recording! but only if you two feel comfortable doing it. it can also come as a 5-10min edited down version after the release of the short. either way, can't wait! the animated shorts actually made me feel like you two are THE main characters of minecraft for the first time! even found myself coming up with more plots for a movie-length arc afterwards lol. but lets not scare pooka away XD

Skizz, you guys can make it a topic for the podcast - what it takes to record audio for animated content or something.

impulse is funny in a difference sense to skizz. a lot of small random moments in the hermitcraft episodes made me laugh. like when impulse was dragging a bunch of frogs across the nether ceiling and when he was trying to 'make' a beard in the background and was mumbling '..and then a bit of this, and this..' with the chest opening sounds lol. it was almost cartoonish.
