We in south India make same with lauki and also add some other vegetables to it- like some small carrot pieces French beans, one or two potatoes if desired and cook it in pressure cooker with tuvar dal n sometimes yellow moong mixed a handful too- which is supposed to be better for health - Chana dal gives some people gas and bloat so we use moong and tuvar dal mix and instead of onion n garlic tomatoes etc we add some fresh grated coconut ground to paste with jeeta and two red chilies and then mix all together and garnish with mustard seeds split white urae dal and curry leaves - it tastes yum- we steam vegetables separately in cooker without the whistle or cook it loose in a steel pan- yet that too- we call it kootu ! ❤😊💖👌👏👏yours also was so good ! Very nice recipe. I add two black cardamom and tejpatta in the tadka and meat masala instead of garam masala. The two whole spices really elevate the taste😊 Kasuri methi sounds nice, I will try next time
Good and easy recipe, but I am going to tell you even easier, and you must try The proportion is as yours minus onions Grind the tomatoes and mix them with dal and lauki and pressure cook it …after it is cooked. Heat ghee in tadka pan put some Jeera Kasuri methi Dhanya powder and pour it on the cooked dal and louki. Sprinkle some green Dhaniya… delicious😊
