Launch Control Demonstration on my 2017 Corvette Z06 

Just curious if you miss the 650hp of the C7 Z06 now that you own the C8?

Launch control. Just want to clarify something. With everything set up , pedal to the medal. You’re saying the rpm will come back to 2000 rpm AUTOMATICALLY with the gas floored.

Launch Mode is cool, but most people in the Villages are probably more into “Lunch Mode”. 😂 Just saying lol….. Wow, heard in another Vlog you’ve owned 20 Corvettes. Very envious of you sir!!! Too bad you couldn’t have garaged them all. I must add, which ones were your favorites? I commented on one of your Vlogs you were “Living the dream”. After 19 Corvettes you certainly have lived the life of many dreamers in the car collector hobby. Now with #20 being a C8, is there a possibility of a C8 ZO6 or a Zora out there for you? You must have a wonderful woman in your life to share the love of Corvettes. I am lucky that at age 66 and fighting a serious health condition, my wife has given me the go ahead to place an order for a 2022 C8 coupe. I entered the order in late July and hope to soon hear from my salesman as to the allocation status. The way things are, it may take some period of time to get the car. I am enjoying your presentations on RU-vid!!

If you turn off vehicle in track mode, it will start in tour mode (quite) . If you turn off in sport it will turn on still on sport ( loud).

Hmm, I must have been doing something wrong. I was stomping the brake pedal as hard as I could and the car kept lurching through the brake force and the RPMs never settled. I'll have to reference this video the next time I try it 👍

Great job! Only suggestion is cut some of the drive to Mexico vid. I'm also a senior who started with a new 65 NB/NB 396-425 and did a fair bit of street and track "work" in the good old days. Lansing, Michigan was every bit a hot bed as was Woodward Ave in Detroit. Thirteen C1s, C2s, and C3s later but no Corvettes for the past 35 years, I just took delivery of my custom ordered 2019 Atomic Orange Z06 auto coupe. Lucked out that mine was also "bayed" (pulled off final assembly for a full QC (Quality Control) inspection car. Looking forward for the next 3 years of taking advantage of all the wonderful "qualities" of this car plus plan on putting many miles on it during that time. My time on earth may be getting shorter but at least I can more easily afford my "drugs" of choice now!!!!!! Robert, are you in S Florida? I'm in Tampa.

I am surprised by this video. I have never done a launch with my c7 z06 because I have honestly been afraid of screwing it up. When revving too much I have fishtail. Does this launch procedure not cause it to fishtail?

I also have a 17 ZO6 that I will now attempt your launch control demo, thank you! It really looks good in white, mine is black rose. I have no intention or desire for the C8 until the ZO6 version is out. What are your thoughts?

So when you have left foot holding brake down are you leaving your right foot floored on the gas until you decide to let off of the brake for launch?

This won’t work too well in a race. I have a c7 Z06. How do you keep the car from doing that initial move as the revs build? Thats enough movement to cause a red light or need to re-stage.

Who doesn't your gage cluster go into track mode? It's locked in touring or sport mode. When I put mine into track it always changes.

I dont like the hesitation using launch mode. Better just use yourfoot to 2k rpm ,keep in track mode and ,traction control on and launch yourself. No hesitation that way on the track that could lose the race.
