I upgraded my launch diagun to this x431 because lot's are not supported from diagun and i'm dispointed because diagun and x431 are same function and they telling x431 is upgraded software but it's not. Mostly lot's of my diagnostic experience are disapointing from this scantool. Powerfull when supported.
That's a great video, finally a proper review of the Launch. Maybe it's a thought to get the key programmer and try it out. I have a Chinese scanner that does most things but it's not as advanced as the Launch. I really need to get my hands on one of these.
I'm not great at diagnosing problems, but if you tell me the problem I can usually fix it. These scan tools are very handy in finding out the problem, but pricing is a little too steep for me. It would be nice to see something as functional in the $200-$400 range. Maybe future technology will bring pricing down a little more for us home DIY'ers.
Yeah, the pricing usually forces home DIY'ers to google the "other" software options usually available for older makes/models. For example the e46 BMW has several software packages and cables available. Not one of them is over like 60$. There is nothing you can't program yourself... from a new key to removing the dead area in the center of the temp gauge. This is one major reason I dont want to buy a new car. Who wants to be locked out of all the internals of their new investment? Yuck
I know this comes with no tech support but when it comes time to having to redo the update where do you get the updates from? I know it's not from launch Tech USA
I purchased one but before actually using it attempted to talk to someone in tech support. I could not find anyone to talk to and for warranty you have to send it to China. I sent it back for those reasons.
How is this comment not highlighted for others to see? This is very useful information that could easily make or break getting this scanner. Halfway into this video I was sold on this scanner, but after reading this comment I’m moving on to something else. I’m not okay with having to ship my scanner overseas if it ever decided to act up. A product is only as good as it’s warranty and customer support.
Nice! I just picked this tool up and had an issue with a vehicle I was diagnosing a few days ago. I called Launch, gave them my S\N and found out that this particular Launch is not recognized by Launch tech USA. I mean, it's an authentic Launch tool, but it's a "global Launch" according to the operator. I was wondering why some American cars keep coming up as import. Is your unit a global spec as well..? I'm curious. Hope I didn't get duped! Smh
Yes you got duped , you have pobably got it from ebay, the add may have even had your nations flag placed in it. Bad news! the warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Try to email these bandits after youve made the mistake of downloading there counterfeit updates and it loads a multitude of permenant ghost faults into the vehicles ecu
The cost on the things that need to be added and the yearly cost could get too be a problem. Do you have any incites along those lines. That may make another video.
After bad experience with a Foxwell scanner, I'm kinda suspect about adequate software support for these Chinese all in one scanners. Pasoft suffices for E46 for me
Xtool D9 pro is better than this one for sure!! I know this because I had the same launch that you are using I also did a review not very good and send it back and got the Xtool D9 pro which is way better
CAn you see the injectors mgr and etc? Cuz i didnt saw that option in your video. And i have thinkdiag which doesnt show injectors live data to all actors, only to certain
love your video very Indepth like to ask u if this scanner can do a vin rewrite have older charger the ecu go's bad and have to have a locksmith rewrite my vin in the new used pcm like to just do it my self if this x431 does a vin rewrite

I need help on my Launch X-431 Pro 3S+ I bought this march 2022 and i just use it twise. i dnt see anymore the pictures the we use to diagnose the car you know the “ intelligent Diagnose”, Local Diag, Service Function etc. i dnt see it no more in my tablet screen. Hopefully you can help me with this. Thanks
Dude change the settings on the top right from Metric to English..it will change the values. 😂it’s better to know what you are trying to show and tell before doing so.😊

With Respect you are wrong.. You illustrate the dangers of reviewing a device that you have just acquired and you have little or no hands on knowledge about its operation. This becomes the blind leading the blind. For instance you say: “for some reason ‘intelligent diagnosis’ does not work on BMWs, so I’ll skip that”. Why? This is important. As someone who accepted these early reviews and bought a Launch scanner over two years ago, I can assure you that it was my major mistake. Launch works ok on some vehicles, but often cannot complete functions on the most common models. Requested updates take weeks or months to arrive, or are completely ignored. Currently, my two year subscription has expired, so I have to use ‘Local Diagnosis’ to address the installed files and updates that I HAVE PAID FOR. Now Launch org. inform me that Local Diagnosis will cease to function if I do not log-in within 30 days, or pay $800 for another two years of substandard files and updates. I OWN A BRICK!
Never had any problems and support has been interactive and feedback has been timely when requested... they even provided full training courses for xprog too. Sorry your experience hasn't been as good perhaps your critique helped launch fix errors with the scan tools operation in the last 2 yrs...

I have this x431 pro3 elite and the xprog programming tools I like the easy navigation use and range of vehicles.. my Intelligent Diagnostics vin link works with all the bmws so far new updates fixed it for most autos euro and American all but Saturn's lol the malfunction king of cars😂
I'm not pleased with this tool at all ... Been a machanic for years . The tool of my choice is the .. Think tool Pb8 .... For 800 dollars well worth the money ...
Launch sell chinese units whhich are not covered by any warranty allthough they claim to. When you download there Counterfeit upgrades and your vehicle then stores permanent faults in it's ECM's and launch tell you that your unit is not covered under warranty because it's a chinese unit, even though there all chinese units you will then realise that youve been robbed. BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM LAUNCH AT YOUR PERIL!!!!
No, I purposely avoided it because it isn’t geared toward coding and doesn’t support anything really useful. I’ll see if I can get protools and do a video on that. I need to find an android phone though
