Hey Masochist, stumbled on your channel while researching to do the Green again. Love the episodes! Looking forward to some of your other adventures. Love the van and your story, If I could hike half the trails you two did I would be stoked! Your girl seems to have an amazing attitude and a trooper. Thanks for sharing! 🤙🏼

Thanks! We both consider ourselves very lucky that we enjoy the same sort of things and are willing to make the sacrifices required

Either the cliff did not fall, or the recovery team found your camera.

A Great, if not Green, kayaking adventure! Easier on the feet, but harder on the muscles for Blondie! Watch the balance! Paddle on!

I love kayaking. I started almost 10 years ago and I sure wish I had started earlier. Yall be careful and have fun. And as a birder I have to tell you that it’s just Canada Geese...not canadian

I know Tex's well. Done that stretch twice now, 2016 (as part of a longer trip) and this past year 2023. Yes. After dinner pack it all up save the sleeping gear, and in the AM grab your coffee, and Cliff bars, and get on the river before the sun rises above the canyon. There are nearly always upstream afternoon winds. Get to the new campsite easy,, by noon or a bit after, lunch,, hiking,, reading. MUCH easier.

Just curious, how much water did you bring with you for a week? Those boats must hold a lot of stuff.

We didn’t have access to the boats ahead of time so we didn’t fully take advantage of the space. They have two decently sized hatches and then the top storage though that destabilizes you a bit. Other people in canoes we ran across had way more stuff. We brought about 14 gallons of water and only used 11. We had a filter with us since we weren’t sure how much we’d go through but ended up not needing it

Matt I think you need to go back to the AT for green. Utah is not a pretty green place in the desert.

Fortunately I’ll be starting the Condor Trail next week which should deliver on the whole green / tick infested category :)

Greener scenery can be beautiful, but I find being in the desert can be just as beautiful.

I agree. I particularly love peakbagging out in the desert. Rugged canyons and views that go for miles
