Wow!! Truly haunting!! So incredibly sad and beautiful. Her version of this song goes right through my heart as she clearly is singing this for her late husband. Her story, her singing this song, & her death, very hard to bear, just too sad. I wish she were still alive so I could tell her that I love her.
i still cry when i hear her. i was at camp the anniversary of her birth and we had a tribute to her. Alot of people had tears in their eyes. and alot of people did not know she died. HOW SAD
I just read an interview with Laura before she died. She told the interviewer this song is about her late husband and that it will rip your heart out when you hear it.
such a beautiful voice brings a tear to my eye every time i hear it , i dedicate this song to my baby sister who sadly passes away 12 years ago and to my grandad , and to all the brave soldiers who fight for us, thank you laura you are sadly missed god bless.

When Laura sings the title words, her warm soft tone fills my ears with so much feeling and comfort. Her ability to sing the low notes and the high notes made her so complete and then she adds emotion.

I remember the fateful Sunday morning her passing was announced on NPR. I cried then, and I still cry sometimes, when I hear this song, and "How can I help you to Say Goodbye" from her album 'Over My Heart'. Love you Laura.
How you ever heard this by the magnificent Eva Cassidy? I'm sure that somewhere Ms. Cassidy and Ms. Branigan are working on a duet of this wonderful song.
I have problems listening to this song, too many memories come back to me. Laura, thanks for sharing your lovely talent with us all. Darlin', remembering you will never be a problem, thanks to this and many other recordings, from the first one I played, "All Night with Me" in 1982, and especially "Never in a Million Years". Laura was the kind of girl you always wanted to find, hold and keep. She deserved better. Be at peace, rest well, know you are loved.
My heart goes out to her that's makes me so emotional about her life. Her music was so sweet and sorrow. My heart goes out to the family of Laura Branigan. She was so lucky to have her in her life. Her music was so powerful. I was so touched about her legacy who is now lives on. She was truly a trailblazer and one in a million. I just wanted to say that to thank her for the inspiration and her voice was absolutely priceless. I don't really know her, but now I'm a fan.
A very talented lady. When you hear her voice it is so powerful it makes you sit up and listen. She has left us with these masterpieces which we'll still be listening too for generations to come. Her songs 'hit the spot' to coin a phrase whatever one's mood may be.
This track and I Can See Again thoroughly destroy me over and over, each time I listen to them, year after year. So beautiful, so haunting, so tragic that we had to lose Laura. I hope someday these are actually remastered and added to an official LB hits collection or boxset (I can dream!).

Very I feel a need for solitude and solace I remember this song and Laura's beautiful version!!! This song she wrote for her Husband Larry Kretuck who passed away before her in Cologne cancer in 1996 and no one could replace him from Laura Branigan s' life...I know you by Heart ...
