Her comment about seeing Chad in the trial...." hes a soulless man " hit said it all.

agreed. he is an empty vessel. showing absolutely no emotion, or shame, or reaction, to the evidence being presented. I think he is main of low intelligence, and no moral compass. The children were buried in his back yard, no response. Amazing.

@@linneawhitaker1750 He wanted desperately to be a big shot. His siblings are successful and he was digging graves. He latched onto the coat tails of that other nutjob woman by writing her book. By taking a page from her book, he was able to tap the lonely, nutty LDS housewives. They're already primed for a cult by being raised in that religion. He bestowed his groupies with super natural powers which they ate with relish.

@@linneawhitaker1750 And from what I heard yesterday when their texts her read, he was just itching to get permission to give the children something to scream about 😮 I still can't get over just how awful he is and she is for so casually listening to that sort of talk.

Yes SO AGREE. There are so many concoctions one can buy from middle America. Jungle goo joo not just the regular pharmaceutical lines sold cheap. I don’t know how, but I think Alex probably figured out he had been used and that he couldn’t expect to be protected for long by the dangerous duo, and he took the coward’s way out. He may have thought he was escaping justice, only to be met by Ultimate Justice.

Yeah, he doesn't care. I don't think he was delusional like Lori though. I don't understand why Chad thought he needed to kill the kids. I find it difficult to believe that he actually believed in those ideas and I'm thinking he is just a sadistic person who liked killing people. I also wonder if he's talked to Lori during all these years. I understand there are no jail calls, but maybe he talked on a personal phone somehow. They seem to be still married.

Since my 20s, I've gotten 5 jury summons. All but one settled out of court, and I was disappointed. Finally, a case went to court and I was chosen. It was a great experience, and I found that I was smarter than I'd thought. We, the jury, were commended for our sharp focus and seriousness. I'd love to do it again, but I no longer live in the U.S.

Yes, but if you think it would cause a ton of stress on you and your family it might be best to say no, and do civic service in another way. Though Laura and her father were heavily inconvenienced and were able to work it out, they were very fortunate it did. But no one knows the LONG TERM effects of such imposed duress. ONE CAN OFFER CIVIC SERVICE ANOTHER WAY, that is less deleterious on a person and loved ones.

I don’t want to detract from this interview but I’ll say this: it opened my eyes to the justice system! 19:26- 20:05 OMG I suddenly started crying hearing this. I gave a 2YO CPR after she had just been pulled from an irrigation canal in 2002 in Madison County and those words and feelings about “doing a job” and then having everything hit you afterwards, brought back memories of me finishing my bicycle ride home the half mile (after ambulance and police reports, etc.) and THEN …. smelling throw up, adrenaline or whatever coming down, and by the time I was home I was in complete sobs. I so needed to complete that full cycle, the body can do it if we are in a place to allow the process. Yes, the child survived. I even received a heroism award from Madison County Sheriff’s Office along with the gentleman who pulled the child from the water, attorney Josh Garner, but I wouldn’t speak of it…. rarely, until the last 5-6 years, it was too intimate of playing a part in someone’s life/death. Now, as for longer trauma…. wish me luck, I’m recently out of college AA, and my goal is to give myself time to heal, to retrain myself and my body that I’m safe and don’t need to live a life of fight or flight (that I’ve been doing since divorce 10 yrs ago. It was harder than I thought, I gave up so much security, but I’m good now, just gotta let my mind/body get that message! 💝 All my love, gratitude and best wishes to you, Laura. Thank you for sharing. (TY Nate, too.)

Thank you for sharing your story, your love, and your gratitude. Prayers and healing faith are heading your way. You are a hero for saving that baby's life. I would've froze up seeing a 2-year-old like that. You got this. I went through life in the fight or flight mode and drank every single day for almost 30 years. I'll be 44 in a couple of weeks and I've been sober now for 5 years and 11 months. Just taking it 1 day at a time. God bless you, babe. ❤🫶🏽

I felt deeply for the jurors in that trial, amd this one… immensely! I now know we don’t even fathom the pain and trauma they carried throughout this process. Thank you, to the jurors will never be enough. I send my prayers for peace and comfort. Trauma never leaves you, and I can’t imagine having to see those images of those precious children, but thank God, there werent more children murdered by these evil beings! Thank you Nate, and EIN for always bringing us pure interviews, with an ability by those interviewed to express how they feel and see things, without interruption constantly! My favorite news source period!

Laura if you read this comment I want to thank you for your service as a juror on what was a case that would take its toll on anyone, but especially a mother. I am so glad that you had your Father to help you with your sons when your husband was traveling for work. I don't know how I would have handled seeing the photos that you saw. I have seen a therapist who practices EMDR and I found it helpful for me as well. Thank you for sitting down with Nate and sharing your account of your time as juror #4. I wish you well. Hopefully, this current trial will wrap up soon and we can all relax for a bit until Charles's trial. I'm currently following another trial out of Boston right now (I am a bit of a law nerd) and I agree wholeheartedly, that the system is broken. I think that the defendant was set up by the local PD, as do many people. It's crazy. But I digress, the topic is the Vallow Daybell trial. I also agree that there is something suspicious about Alex’s death. I doubt that they ran a toxicology report to search for drugs that could mimic or cause a heart attack or aneurysm. I forget exactly what it was they said he passed away from. The timing of his death is just too convenient for Lro and Chad Unfortunately, he was cremated so there is no way we will ever know the truth.

Alex supposedly died from pulmonary embolism. I bet there are drugs or poisons or even a plant that will cause blood clots and don’t show up in autopsies, in fact I am sure there are.

What an amazing interview ! It just shows what an empathetic person Nate is because he was able to put Laura at ease and encourage her share all these emotions and feelings. I’m so glad she got the necessary counselling and that it worked for her. What a beautiful, beautiful spirit she has. There’s something so intrinsically good about her.

I agree that Judge Boyce is amazing. I think the way he handled the indictment clerical error was perfect. He beat John Prior to the punch, and I think he's done everything possible to make sure any appeal will be unsuccessful, in both Chad's trial as well as Lori's.

Laura, thank you for speaking and answering questions. You truly are amazing! Now is time for you to heal from what you went thru. Seek comfort among your juror friends, talk about your feelings whether you think they are related to that experience or not. Let yourself experience what you are feeling but do not isolate yourself. I have no doubt that if needed Nate and his wife will always be available for you. Yes, Nate is a professional but he's shown thru the years he too has been affected. Lean on those you now know and trust. A simple "thank you" doesn't suffice for what you did. I pray you continue to heal and know you are NOT alone!
