Growing old is a privilege. Being called Granddad is an honour. Not only was this Laura's first ride on a motorcycle, she got to be the first ever pillion on the new bike.
Now you´re the coolest Grandpa on earth, I reckon! My younger daughter (now 17) even picks the right bike for the intended roads by now - the trusty DR 650 for the narrow squirrely stuff and the Griso for open and faster bends ...
This is what started me on my path through the world of motorcycles, I was pillion as a kid, only once, but it sparked a life long love and obsession. Great to see another generation dipping their toe in. Soon she will be a biker herself, and enjoy the 2 wheel therapy we all need sometimes in today's world. Perhaps pointing her in the direction of some female riders on RU-vid will inspire her too. It is a growing community, more and more female motovloggers seem to pop up every day.
I think i've taken 5 or 6 people on their first ride....it returns me to the time i first got on a bike. Next year, the grandkids are coming over....now, that'll be fun!!
Beautiful. I remember the first ride you took me on, on the K bike up to the grandparents, and I had to thump you to pull over on SH1 when I realised I hadn’t done up my helmet strap and I thought it was gonna blow off my head hahaha
Nice bike. Did you trade the old Guzzi in? I took my granddaughter for her first ride about 6 months ago as well. It's different having precious cargo on the back.
