FINALLY!! She was ROBBED the year Michael was shot and put into a coma & it's been a mystery to me why she's never nominated ever but this year she was finally nominated and not only that but WON! I am ecstatic for her - she is a superb actress and I love the character of Carly on GH. There are times when I watch just for her - LW is amazing and has been amazing for years and she's FINALLY being recognized for it. This has been a loooong time coming.
I love LW. esp since her relation with MB and SB looks so real on screen. The most powerful scene Carly tells Sonny off post- Michael shooting (4.11.08) My Jarly sibling chemistry is so lol hilarious. She had Jase defensing him "I wasn't even looking at her" during the Jasam reunion( 9.03.99). Got to love her when they were trapped in the Hotel basement and Carly kept saying I'm married, I'm married Jason was like " what?" she was like put your shirt back on" lol (6.28.07) Ty 4 posting.
Why hasnt Laura won more? She DESERVED it in 2017, and Maura West should have won in 2018. Heather Tom and Eileen Davidson are the most overrated actresses in daytime. Both are super campy to me. Kind of unbelievable. I LOVED Davidson on Days, but now she's written bad. I LOVED Gina Tongini on OLTL but shes just not Phyllis to me and shouldnt have won in 2017 over Wright.
Awww, she's so cute! Agreed with all, I don't always love Carly the character, but Laura does a great job playing her! YAY for her winning! And I also agree, Lexi was robbed.
No lie, seriously..she's a WONDERFUL actress..a little "harpy" at times, but she's a pro's pro...and very believable...100% of the time. I'm surprised she hasn't won more.
@MsRockerGal44 You are not the only one. I love Carly more than so many things, and that is because of Mrs. Laura Wright. Didn't care about this character one way or the other until she came along. I didn't think she was gonna win. I Thought it was gonna be Stafford or Susan F. But when Laura W. won iwas so HAPPY she earned that EMMY. Still upset about Lexi A.
I love LW and she was my second choice but I wish Alicia won because her SL for Zack's "death" was Emmy worthy plus Susan was up there and I wanted to see THAT lol
@DanniLovesMeTv well ya I understand the time frame, it's for 2010...i still dont really think it was much of carly year. if anything she should've won when michael was put in the coma or when she went through the difficult pregnancy with josalyn...still happy she won though
@haydeertz Lexi ainsworth definetely should,ve gotten the award for best younger actress ,her performance kicked some major fucking ass on general hospital,as an abused teen,she was so robbed of that award,you know who else was robbed of another award ,1 for best supporting actress ,bree williamson ,her performance has jessica was so incredible,I,m shocked that she didn,t get anything ,either n for best actress ,it should,ve been a tie for debbie morgan n laura wright ,they,re both great
The only reason she won is because she went 20 years in the industry with no emmy nomination or win.. This was a sympathy award.. and it was fitting that Sympathy emmy winner Susan Lucci gave it to her..
I watched the daytime emmys along with everyone else n this was more like a goodbye to daytime ,it was more of a see you later n I say that b/c of the fact ,now the only thing that you,re more or less going to see are reality shows where ,All my children n one life to live should be ,the powers that work on abc daytime are making the biggest mistakes known to mankind b/c you have some of the best actors on these shows n most of them even got nominated ,some should,ve won more so or less
@haydeertz ;; Agreed, I thought Lexi A. had it in the bag. She an Amazing Story-line that people would kill for as actors and then to Lose to Brittany Allen was/is a JOKE. I would of been okay if at least Emily O'Brien had won Although Lexi deserved it.

Actually shocked she won but when you think about it..aside from the NEW EMMY SYSTEM sucking, we only have 4 shows left so it's less competition. How in the hell does Laura win over Debbi Morgan or Collenn Zink? Heck how in the hell did she get a nod over Maura West??
I love laura and shes absolutely beautiful. Love her dress her hair love this woman . After sarah bc shes the original laura finally has made carly her own. While Sarah's carly was kinda trashy Laura s has made carly grow after years of having money and a career at the metro court. So shes a more mature classy carly .
Plus in between you had Tamara and she bridged Carly from being a bratty little bitch to being a much craftier woman. Then Laura ran with it and made Carly who she is today. A fierce mother hen that is mostly good, but not afraid to get her hands dirty. Love her.
but that,s abc,s fuckup,I like to know who decided that reality t.V. shows are going to change the face of daytime,but,yet they,re going to do these shows that millions of ppl watch on a regular basis some kind of justice by letting them walk away with their dignity,in tact,please ,give me a fucking break,i would like to see the powers of abc dayrtime go to one of these two soaps fan luncheons n see for themselves how popular these soaps are n then decide if they want to cancel these shows
What exactly did she do that she won for? She's not playing Carly. She's playing Laura Wright's version of Carly. The last time Carly was on screen was with Tamara Braun and even Jennifer Bransford. See, Carly has brown eyes, not blue. Wright is actually still playing Cassie Winslow from GL.
