That was fun! This is what you call good clean comedy that has lasted for decades. That was real talent! What a difference compared to the garbage that gets passed off today as comedy full of swearing & dirty jokes. Another great comedy team was Abbott & Costello.

I used to watch these,.... one memory in particular....when I was a child, I'd stay up late at night due to an upset stomach and watch these after my folks were in bed. I'd be lying on the couch. I loved these two!!! And the background music..you KNOW who it is when you hear it. So familiar. My fav was Oliver Hardy,...I loved his peeved gaze at the camera. They called it the "slow burn.' June

People of all generations who truly loved Laurel And Hardy know they will never be able to pay back the pleasure they gave so many people with their comedy genius. Their style of comedy has never been bettered. Theres no relief between the mirth. They just dont allow you time to catch your breath, and that kind of thing is bad at my age. I just cry at the same time I clog up. Great reactions you two. You must do more of these, soon.😂

I love laurel and hardy. It always cracks me up when hardy looks at camera with a look of resignation on his face. They are my favorite comedy duo .

When I was a kid, there was a TV station that used to play old movies every Sunday afternoon. That's how I was introduced to Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello, The Marx Brothers, and W.C. Fields.

This was, and still is my all-time favourite Laurel & Hardy film growing up as a kid, found it on DVD in a bargain shop for a cheap price and decided to ask my parents to buy it for me since I remembered my grandmother telling me about how funny Laurel and Hardy were back in her day. And when I got home and watched Laughing Gravy, I laughed so hard over and over again, and still do every time I watch it for nostalgia. Good times.

Ahh man, i could hardly breath watching that. I don't know who i was laughing at more, Laural and Hardy, or you two. Ive watched it another three times and can't see much, became of the tears in my eyes. My neighbours will be ringing the mental institute soon, to see if they can take me away. What a laugh. Thanks guys, that was brilliant. Please do more, once we have all recovered.

Most L&R Movies were made in several languages, with the boys speaking the lines phonetically, the lines being on blackboards. This can result in the film being improved by the practise, the Spanish versions were often the last, so they contain some extra comedy bits. Worth seeking out to compare.

Simply the best absolute legends absolute genius i have got to watch laurel and hardy every day wow it can be anything they ever did the mannerisms the timing and to cap it all off when hardy looks at the screen there never has been and there never will be any one else who is funny like mr stan laurel and mr oliver norvile hardy simply the best ever absolute genius wow 😅😅😅

They're not exactly synchronised lol but the timing is great. Stan always did the most work on the montage, while Oliver was playing golf

Hello, GuitarMan here. I have really enjoyed most of the comedy reactions you have on here as it has helped me feel better in myself, as I'm also from UK myself as I enjoy a lot of classic comedies plus the classic sitcoms as well. (Laughing Gravy) is one of my favorites of Laurel and Hardy and as most people that I know find them hilarious, as they are most beloved classics. There is another short laurel and hardy film similar to this sketch, which is called (They Go Boom). with the near enough same landlord in it without his beard, plus Oliver has the sniffles which also involves an incident with their air mattress which is so funny which makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. It's not always Ollie who has the mishaps, Stanley has had his fair share of mishaps I remember movie he got put in a barrel of water and he drank it and filled up his stomach like a balloon

There's a pub/wine bar/restaurant called Laughing Gravy on Waterloo Bridge Road. Years ago it used to be Laurel and Hardy themed. Now it's just a wine bar restaurant, no longer themed, but it kept the name.

Last year I visited a Wetherspoon pub near Birmingham that was named after Charlie Hall, who plays the grumpy landlord in Laughing Gravy. He also appears in many other L&H films, usually as their nemesis.

There is an interesting scene that was fillmed, but edited out the final cut of the film. It resurfaced 20-something years ago. It's not particularly funny, but it's a clue about the friendship The Boys had, and it's actually quite sweet. It doesn't flow within the film, so I suspect it was why Stan edited it out. Hi just subscribed to you. First reaction was to this episode of l&h definitely one of the funniest for sure. I was fortunate to get the whole box set on DVD. Contains all their shorts & several of their movies too. Watched them with my sons & they have liked the humour as I do. I just noticed the white tiger there. So cute. I have a sitting cheetah that size and I put MY baseball cap on him, ( Sam ) had turned it around backwards. A "Hard-Rock Cafe" cap.... June 💞😼

Speaking of comedy, here in the States they showed one of your sitcoms called, "Keeping Up Appearances." It was extremely funny! I didn't understand some of the jokes but I understood enough of it. The main character trying to be a social climber (in England I understand it's almost impossible) was great! 🤣🤣🤣

NOTE: The original films were done by Hal Roach Studios...THE MGM Lion was never at the front end of any of these. MGM must have bought them up later and put their stamp on the, which to me is historically dishonest and misleading. Roach would let Laurel do anything he wanted in writing the gags , even directing when they already had a director. But once they left Hal Roach studios and tried MGM, and Universal films, they did not have the freedom to do new routines etc, they were TOLD what to do and that's what destroyed their career in the 1940's.

Actually, Hal Roach had a distribution deal with MGM. He later switched to United Artists.
