One of the truly funniest scenes ever committed to celluloid. I fell in love with this scene when me and my dad would watch the laurel and hardy shorts on BBC2 in the UK in the late 70's...I remember my Dad literally curled up and paralysed with laughter at this scene...and I have loved these two Angels of the 20th Century ever since...beautiful.
I don't think so mate. OK for these movie people living gilded lives. Not nice for the people living under prohibition and extreme poverty. These movies offered a brief respite from terrible misery.
I remember those shorts on BBC2, they went on until the early 80s, circa 1982-83 I remember, they were often double billed with Harold Lloyd. Time less classics.
I can hear the social justice warriors demanding that this video be banned because of its "fat shaming." I swear those wannabe dictators have all had their sense of humor surgically removed.
No one could do the absurdity of this film better than Stan and Ollie. Complete and utter genius. Love it when he's pressing the bell at registrar's. The women were all tough as fuck lol
Hilarious, one of the funniest ones 🤣 I love it when stan throws a shoe at olivers head too 😂 just all of it is pure slapstick, very funny,Myself and my dad used to roar with laughter as this, miss that
This is so realistic you can almost feel the pain of getting squashed yourself. Such is the genius of these two comedy heroes. Only Fools and Horses conveys the genuii.
does anyone know the name of the laurel and hardy episode where hardy is getting married and when they are waiting for the car to arive laurel is doing a jigsaw puzzle, and when people arive at the house, they too help laurel with the puzzle.
My favorite part was when they got into a fight over the missing piece of the puzzle! Everyone except Stan and Ollie were arrested and hauled off to jail! (Stan and Ollie were hiding)
Talking about imported compact 🚗 car. I love how Stan thought the man with a weird eye was talking to him. The man told Stan that he's the married man and he kissed the 👰 bride Ollie. You have to admit that's very funny and hilarious scene. That car was made for Stan and how Stan's head popped up from the roof. Stan started to cry because he thought he married to Ollie. 😄😄😊😀😉😲👍👌
No big surprise there! In one of their films they were arguing like a married couple! It was after they adopted a baby only to discover that Mrs. Hardy has left him because Ollie was spending more time with Stan than with her!
The cross-eyed man was one of the last roles for the once hugely popular silent film comedian Ben Turpin. Great, underrated pioneer of silent slapstick comedy. His last role ever was in a L&H film, too, he was the cross-eyed plumber in Saps at Sea.
mrsbrown andhercat wow! Austin British car manufacrured in USA in 1930. Incredible! My aunt had a 1970 Austin Mini, manufactured in Arica, Chile plants (rarely in fiber glass).
Actually it was a car made in Pittsburgh, PA. It was the Austin Bantam. Later named the American Bantam. I sat in one of those cars once and they ARE cramped.
No doubt, the best of the best funny episode.I almost get a hearth atack, laughing, before this hilarious and unforgetable scene.Even I didn`t know, there were such a small kind of vehicles at that time. This couple of gentlemen, brought us a ray of light trough humor,at a time when things looked so dark and hopeless.
I wish they would've explained why Dulcy's father (James Finlayson) hated Ollie so much that he would lock her up until she agreed to call off the wedding?
