Lauren James: Emma Hayes describes abuse aimed at Chelsea and England player as disgusting

Emma Hayes has described the online abuse aimed at Chelsea forward Lauren James this week as "disgusting" - adding the England player "is not in a great place".
James came under criticism after making an off-the-ball challenge on Arsenal's Lia Walti in Chelsea's 4-1 loss to the Gunners on Sunday.
The forward made the challenge when Chelsea were trailing 3-1 in the game - and Hayes substituted James immediately after the incident. Over the summer, James was sent off for England at the Women's World Cup for a stamp on Nigeria's Michelle Alozie.

Yes she did use her studs on a player at the World Cup, but bearing in mind she is very young and she’ll hopefully learn from it. Yes I agree that she doesn’t deserve all the abuse she got.

Yes she is a very dirty player and what makes it worse is she is carrying a fair bit of timber so is very dangerous but racial abuse should never happen.

we live in age of social media...... there will always be a group of idiots that you'll notice on internet...... but, she needs to stay a professional and keep her mind focused on her club and family..... look at Harry MaGuire...... that guy is getting trolled even at african governments :D:D:D

She’s still a kid. Because of her performances she gets talked about as one of the greats but she still has a lot to learn and refine. But that’s ok, she’s young - she’s bound to have flaws to iron out.

Report the whole story straight wat she did to the Nigerian player at the world cup and wat she did in the arsenal Chelsea game then add the racial abuse the way yo reporting the story yo also racially abusing the story.😂

"Someone called me a horrible word on the internet" It's the internet, why is this even a news story? I've had racist comments and death threats direct at me before, I didn't cry over it.

“In a world where you can be anything, be kind” - Caroline Flack. Lauren is a young player, yes she can be aggressive at times and I’m glad she’s taking steps to rid it from her game. She’s also one of the most exciting players to watch in world football. More importantly she’s a human being. It’s time to put a stop to this. Clubs, the media, social media companies and the respective leagues have a responsibility to protect players from these god awful viscous keyboard warriors. Block all replies and ban people commenting, don’t give these trolls a voice.
