There still are populations of European beavers around, although the American variety has been known to compete for the same territories. As of now, European beavers are nevertheless thriving again in the north.

I hope they continue to do well and Europe can build back a beaver population again. Long live the Castoridae.

​​​​​​​​@@WEHenrySpeaking as a government worker, nobody hates bureaucracy more than the regulators and the bureaucrats. I'm not in a role where I face the general public(although I am in a public-facing one) but I can guarantee that regardless of how annoyed you get with that, the people you're talking to are more frustrated about their inability to help. Also, reminder to people getting the runaround, whether it's with government or in the private sector, don't take out your frustrations and anger out on who you're talking to. They're not trying to make your life miserable, they're just doing their jobs.

In my state we relocate mountain goats on long lines under helicopters much like how army rangers are extracted.
