Last year I spent a month touring the four corner states in the South West, Canyon Lands, Grand Canyon, stayed in Monument Valley for a few days and much more. Loved the country and the Americans I met.

A Colombian friend of mine said he sees Americans the way 49 states see Texas. They're extremely kind, respectful, and lovable people with a patriotism that is off the charts and can easily be received as looking down to others but when you get acquainted with a Texan or American you find it's not intended that way and they'll be extremely remorseful they portrayed that. We know how to be British, or English (which is where the problem often lies). Most people I know can't stand Fox. He comes from a rich and privileged family of actors & he still seems angry. The reality that separates a Christian (not a person who simply claims this title, but one who genuinely trusts and believes in the resurrected Jesus Christ, as Lord and Saviour) from non-Christians is explained in Hebrews 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Love is my motivation in spending this time writing this reply. I'm always interested in the "we" and "they" ness of the whole thing. He, and others, especially a lot commenting here, will happily list everything they're against together as one whole whether they're linked or not. And isn't that his party's selling point? "Common Sense"? I assume they consider them as as "common sense" But a lot of things are what I heard referred to as "floating signifiers". "Woke" will mean different things to different people as will "cultural marxism". Subjective notions that can be held up to ridicule and then shot down. He does loads of that in this. Masks, I know a few people on the left against them, but mainly it's people who lean to the right. What do they have in common? Crank conspiracy belief and some unchecked extremist beliefs! There's an intersection where the right and left meet & that if fascinating. Just as the politicisation of other things is too e.g. environmentalism, which used to be apolitical, but was politicised and is now generally on a left/right split. But why should it be? Of course, at one end you'll get people claiming "globalism" and that it's part of a sinister plan? Personally, if someone has a problem with something they perceive as too "woke" - that's fine, voice that sensibly. Don't resort to some of the awful stuff in comments here. Also, maybe thing seriously about how much those "woke" things really are a threat?
