Lauria Is Back For Steel

It's a well balanced ship. That's it. We are so used to ultra op ships that when we get a balanced one we view it as a mediocre ship.

Such a fun ship. Picked it up last week and played a bit of ranked in it. Good manageability, SAP slaps, and I’ve managed some really nice citadel hits since getting it as it mostly feels as if it have very good dispersion in comparison to even some of my favorite such as Ohio or Bourg.

There was an over reliance on SAP there. Knowing there was a Salem there, PQ could have switched to AP and crushed it. SAP is great light cruisers and DDs (I know it overpens, but it simply has more alpha).

SAP's consistant mechanics make up for the lack of consistant dispersion. That is the Lauria in a nutshell and i love it 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

Really enjoy Lauria! I’ve even tried games without using any SAP and it still slaps.

If the reload is faster than the techtree columbo that is an upgrade. The columbo can be fun sometimes when sap connects, but the combination of long reload and unaccurate guns can be really annoying to play, if you wait so long to miss your shot in the end. When that happens you feel like you are just there for the other team to farm you... free xp pinnata...

As an American CA enjoyer, seeing that Salem shoot HE into your flat broadside at 3 Km made me sad... ( at around 10:54 ) They could've probably won that engagement with AP.

One of the things I never see mentioned about Lauria is the SAP secondaries. Sure, they're the lowest hitting DPM Italian secondaries at T10, but they can pick up some cheeky kills against DDs and cruisers if they wander into your secondary range/try and yolo you. They're Regolo guns, and all of a unified caliber too, so none of the infamous Italian 90mm nonpens against DDs.

What do you think about this and the Stalingrad for steel? I’ve had my eye on both

You know a ship is well balanced if you have PQ, a master critic of dispersion, saying this ship is still pretty good with mediocre accuracy. I'm also happy to see that the Bungo's accuracy is finally putting a smile on that dispersion critical face. ;) Thanks for the review PQ.

I was in a random battle on two brothers. I was a Napoli B. I engaged a Thunderer and then a Devastation. I fired my torps and main battery after the Dev while targeting the Thunderer, which was at half health. The Dev went down to torps and close range mb HE. The Thunderer sunk by the sap secondaries, which are very consistent. I sank due to fires. I have the R. Lauria. You are correct if the Lauria had better dispersion pattern it would be OP. It is a fun ship for me.

Picked this up with coupon just a week or two ago. Haven't really had a chance to play her, trying to pick up my snowflakes. But since the only other options were Shiki or Incomp, this seemed better.

I love this ship. But the dispersion sometime can be very weird….I had many times the shells literally land both side of a boradside ships, but just not hitting the ships😂

The second unrelated to the video, when you get a ship are there any advantages or disadvantages to getting or not a port slot? When I got her recently, the ap did zero damage. The SAP worked good but most of the time it was 2k- 5k and occasionally 10k at best. It was miserable after spending 31k steel. Something happened a week later, but the AP is now working and well placed SAP shots are 10-15K. and before u start trolling "sounds like a skill problem ", I took Colombo out and she was actually more consistent. Steel wise: 1 Bourgogne, 2 Mecklenburg/Incomparable 3 di Lauria.

Interesting. I am trying very hard to not spend all my steel on the 3 ships in this Christmas armory event as I was looking at this BB as a steel choice. Seen it do some nasty things in games and carry hard if they land shots.

I'm very happy when this type of ship comes into play, which is balanced and to have good results depends on the commander's positioning skill!

Is Lauria or bourg a better choice for steel?

Its fairly balanced imo, ive been enjoying it but be warned you can be citadeled when kitting

i was between lauria and Incomparable but since I have the Colombo with premium/cammo and Verdi, I ended up with incomparable and that ship is funny af, its bad but then it's good, so many mixed feelings

I'm pretty surprised you didn't mention that her secondaries are also SAPs. I'm thinking if a full secondary build could be possible for Lauria, or the full DPM build that you experimented with Republique😏

Very balanced ship. It's like a friend of. Mine who screamed the scharnhorst 43' was released and not "straight up better than the original scharnhorst". These same people expect every new ship to be OP and then scream when ships are balanced instead. They have to bitch about something,even if it's FREE.

you only notice SAP when it hits. the SAP player sees every shot you don't notice.

SAP could have been fine if it had been basically HE but with better pen and maybe 10%-20% more damage than HE, and a bounce chance. Instead Wargaming went the route of making it better than AP(even though some AP shells are actually called SAP in their stats, like most British AP) damage wise, paired with better pen angles, and really high pen amounts. Effectively SAP would have had a decent place as a middle ground ammo between HE and AP, but Wargaming made it AP but better in 60% of situations.

Been constantly getting smashed by Lauria in the Yumihari recently. Kind of a miserable grind.

Dont understand the opinion that SAP is sooo op. Lets say you shoot HE and you theoretically see the damage from perma fires right away it would look far more brutal than SAP will ever do. Also SAP drops off against saturated targets alot. HE > SAP Btw, 4:40 You can do the same or even more with AP.

This ship has better dispersion than the St Vincent and only slightly worse than the Thunderer. The guns are NOT inconsistent, it's just the video/PQ.

sap is rly juice vs ships that work around overpens or big targets like yamato and vermont, shooting sap at jinan things is ridiculous even with colombo dispersion. That 27k salvo on vermont is commom daily in colombo even at long range, at mid range its a ok to bad salvo, i lit hear a lot of shit in this video. Best things in this lauria is the conceal, reload and AP overmatch, sap overmatch? rly? sap does high dmg if the ship is just a little off angle, but if perf angle, its sad to shoot, but in lauria you can just swtich to ap and have overmatch and maybe some bow cits

As a 7 seven year old player of this game, I bought kitakami without the camo for 1.46million coal and 180 days of premium, feel like getting a normal coal ship not particularly exited. I still have too much resources to spare though(130000steel and 179000research points)

imo the best way to balance sap is lower the alpha and increase slightly on the fire chance just a bit

It seems like a fun ship, but i swear it feels like every single ship released in the last... quite a bit, is designed to make cruisers miserable

Roosevelt June 2025 ... and from there I will see what WG will throw in to armory , but 100% I wout be getting Vallejo , I will horde steel .

All BB's are just pain to play. Your own DD's usually die in 4 minutes and than you just run to border and die :-) and its not much fun for me... If you wanna win, you have to play DD.
