Ach Brito refers to Achilles Brito the founder of the firm that makes the cream, the firm dates back to 1918. It normally retials for about 5-6 euros per tube in Portugal which is very good value for money for such a great product. They also make a Pine scented cream.
Ok, good stuff these creams, but you must try Top Secret cream from Portugal also. Just excellent. Your videos are very inspiring not only for wet shaving but also on other things. Today I was in the supermarket with my wife.. I saw a bottle of pineapple juice. I told my wife: - I'm getting this one. - But why? - Because Paul had one glass of this juice with ice cubes, drinking it and I was jealous!! - .... (hahahaha)
Thanks for the tip of testing your cream or soap for allergies, tomatoes and cucumbers here are doing good .yumm. nothing like a rain for your garden it's a blessing from God.
Hey there Paul, just wanted to mention that what you have is the super badger version. There is a pure badger version with the same handle, but "Puro tasso" does not refer to the hair grade. Omega just writes "Puro tasso" on every badger and "Pura setola" on every boar.
Glad you enjoyed, you should try the cologne (same scent) from ach brito, claus porto or the newer portuguese brand, antiga barbearia de bairro are great as well
Gr8 shave again Paul 💈👍 That Lavanda looked very nice. Gorge flowers as usual Mrs H 💐 surprised hubby with the Mitchell's wool fat shave soap in cereamic shave bowl this week. Also Denim aftershave after seeing yours!! One happy chappy. Enjoy your weekend both 💈👍💐😊
Lavanda (Ach Brito) makes beautiful cologne called Lavanda and it´s superb old fashioned fresh... i love it."Lea" is another superb brand. Regards from Czech rep. Paul
I never ever run out of "Lavanda" by the famous brand of "Ach. Brito". I also use the EdC and the bath soap of the same line. I like lavender and I find this to be the most masculine lavender scent ever. And it is an excellent shaving cream.💈👍🏼 The red tube shaving cream that you show at the beginning was rather a disappointment for me though. I wonder how you will find it. Have a relaxing weekend, Paul. 😎
Hello Paul, Lavanda is an excellent shaving cream from Ach Brito, maker of famous Claus Porto bath soaps. It is one of my favourite creams, and can be had for a song online from Gifts & Care in Spain. There is also a Lavanda Eau de Cologne which works really well as an aftershave. Fun video, as always, take care and keep up the good work!
Happy Wednesday Paul! I have said it before and I will repeat it again; Mrs H has some talent for floral arrangements...smashing! Great advice on testing new shaving products. I once tested and the first shave was great, but the second shave the almond shaving soap burning my face...stinging like a bad sun burn. Had to give it away with a warning. I had great success with the Brazilian Gillette Platinum Plus Blades. So far it has delivered 9 outstanding shaves, each close, comfortable, and smooth. My new product is Barbasol aftershave. It is Mentholated and smell just like the shaving cream or PAA CaD. It is excellent stuff and inexpensive. Great banter and shave as usual Paul. You make my day better each time I watch. Thank you. Take care.
Paul, you mentioned Palmolive shave soap and cream. Believe it or not most Americans have never used Palmolive shave soap. Palmolive will not ship its wonderful soap to the states so the only way we can get it is to purchase it from dealers who have imported it to the states themselves. This causes very inflated prices. For example, in the UK you can purchase Palmolive shave sticks in any store for about 1.09 USD. Here in the States that little stick is about 4.00 USD but I have seen it as high as 7.00 USD. So people here don't know just how wonderful that little shave stick. Man, I wish that we could order them at a descent price. I also wish we could go into any store and buy it the way you people do. I love Palmolive shave sticks... but I don't like paying 4 USD for something that should only cost about 1USD. The idea of a great soap that last months for only a buck. Wow. And please, please, and please don't mention Arko. Lol. There is no comparison, Palmolive wins every time.
In Portugal we don't have Palmolive sticks either :( Only the cream, regular Palm Extract and the sensitive, with Aloe Vera. Those are wonderful also, nonetheless. Yet I can tell you that supermarkets sell them at a reasonable price of 2 euros. If I were to buy Palmolive sticks online, they would cost me as much as a 150gr Proraso Red/White/Green/Blue tube bought in a local store nearby.
Great looking shave Paul. First time I’ve seen the “Lavanda” in action. Looks like a decent cream and sure seems it had some good protection. Wishing you and Mrs. H a wonderful week.
A beautiful arrangement, as usual, MrsH! I bet if you had added a dip of the tips in water for that last pass, it would've exploded the lather. Nice shave. Have a great rest of the week. Good luck to England in the World Cup tomorrow. Keep Drumpf, please.
Thank you Jill, it probably would have exploded your right, I like it on the creamy or pasty side though, and yes hope England win, but good luck to both teams.....have a good week :-)
Paul, I assume the creams are in. So glad you’ve enjoyed the Lavanda! The name João is in fact difficult to pronounce in languages other than Portuguese. If I was English, or Welsh to be accurate I would say “João” like you would say the name “Jo”, the determiner “a” that you use before a word and the letter “o”. I “can” :) - although it is a tube - say that getting the cream out is easier if you squeeze it from the bottom, because it’s in aluminum and the opening is so small. Lavanda is manufactured nowadays and the brand “Ach Brito” is very prestigious in our country for producing several types of soaps and other good hygiene stuff, a cologne for example. The prices can skyrocket when you buy things online but if you were here you could get it for around 4 euros (3.5 pounds). As a Portuguese I’m so proud for your enthusiasm and that you were pleased with Lavanda. It means so much, you’ve put a big smile on my face today :)Twice a week you try out and speak about so many good things and your opinion - as a WET SHAVING ROCKSTAR - is important to us ‘peasants’ so we can make our own about the products out there.Hope the “Estoril Men’s” doesn’t disappoint too. Happy to be in this “Paul’s Wet Heads” community!
Great shave, nicely done Paul. Ach Brito is well known in the states, never tried it though. For the price, Parker builds very nice razors from mild to wild.. one of my favorites is the Variant. No issues at all today👍. Again the flowers didn't disappoint, always beautiful thanks to Mrs H. Another super fun video. Thanks Paul. Enjoy!
Love the look of this razor, used it once and cut up my face pretty good. Was one of my first time with DE razor, definitely try again after more practice
Great shave and beautiful flowers as per usual. I wish I'd seen the tip you mentioned about rubbing a bit of soap behind the ear, before I had tried TOBS. My full face felt burning and red.
Fantastic. I love floral scents for my products over cologne based. Lavender is one of these scents in which, for me, manufacturers don't make too strong. Especially TOBS lavender, which is not strong at all. I'd love to get hands on Castle Forbes version but it's a bit expensive.
Good shave Paul...Flowers outstanding. The Parker 22R was my first razor and still in my rotation ..lock it down tight and check every pass...their a bit noisy as are most TTO razors...but they have a long history in shaving..good for the beginner..I've acquired several ..they work well with most blades..lavender not my favorite flavor...for shaving...I prefer the lemon thayers has alcohol ..the lavender does not...I wish all my shave's could be second time shave's...much smoother for me. 3 Max keep, the nicks down...I know you like to try a lot of different things and that's great for us shavers ..but I would advise new shavers that when they find that perfect combo of razor...blade ...and cream...stick with it it will save you a bundle in the long run...Nothing wrong with trying new things...that's why we have You...lol..to lead us in the right direction...till Sunday then..cheers!🇬🇧🇺🇸💈🐈🐈🐈🍺🍺🍺
Lavanda is a very nice cream, most Portuguese creams are it seems. I have had both soft and hard out of the tube, I wonder if it has something to with the age or the lanolin in it reacting to temperatures or something. Either way, very nice slickness, scent and leaves my fac very happy after!
Hello. Lavanda and the other two creams from the same manufacturer which share the same basic formula (Veleiro and Top Secret) tend to harden in hot temperatures. You can just leave it in the fridge overnight and it will be back into normal consistency. Lavanda is pretty good, much better than one would expect in this price range. Nice video as always. Congrats to Mrs. H. for the beautiful flower arrangement.
more Fa Tip razor videos please unique razor, aggressive, one of a kind handle thread ( difficult to accept other handles), blade needs adjustment before use a razor with character
Hahaha happen to me also the difficulties of making the lavanda cream to get out of the tube. Trick is to put the tube on the freezer during the night and the following day is perfect
That depends on the blade or brand of blade, but something like a Feather which is very sharp, the second and third use, means it has sort of reduced it's sharpness to a more comforting feel, again this depends on your beard and skin type too.....thanks :-)
Thanks for sharing Paul. Jyst tried the soap yesterday... had a little trouble getting a good lather. Soap also disinpates on my face. Boy worried though... jyst the water soap ratio. I'll try this again thismorning. Hard to get soap out for sure! Go Croatia! My wife is croatian! Like England as well! Greg
Paul . I was telling you about the Crabtree and Evelyn shave soap in another video and how bad it is . I got a OK shave with it . I had to use Proraso pre shave . I'm sorry I have 2 pucks . Thank God I got them at 50 % off . Expensive crap ! Lol
We have Palmolive shaving cream (not the soap unfortunatelly) available in Portugal but the green one, Men's Estoril, you will judge but I think it is not a variation of Palmolive. It is produced by an ancient portuguese company named Benamôr benamor1925.com/ under their Factory "Nally". So, dispite it is green as the wonderful - and my first ever shaving cream Palmolive - its scent and lather I think are distinct. Nothing like trying it in a future sunday or wednesday shave :)
Ralu Ofoche, actually, no it’s not Palmolive. It’s from Nally, a Portuguese company with no relation to Colgate-Palmolive. It reminds a bit the classic Palmolive cream but less liquid and the scent has some talc powder in it. It’s a decent low-cost cream. Good slickness, too.
I’d never own a TTO razor, I am most sure why, maybe because I used one from age 16 to age 55 before I discovered 2 and 3 piece razors which are so far superior, at least IMO ....( nevertheless less, great shave, Paul.)
Asdasdasd Asdasdasd I have one . I do use it but not much . It is very mild . I use a sharp blade in it . I never shave with it if I have over 2 days growth .
Hey Paul, you are going to have to rename your channel to "PaulH Shaves in the Sauna". You can wear a posh white bath robe and have steam coming up around MrsH's flowers. LOL. But you may need to invest in a steam-less mirror and camera lens. Stay cool mate. :-) Cheers Mark
If you think traditional style shaving is a bankruptcy producing hobby, it’s a good thing that you’re not also a golfer... If you were, you would really be broke😀.
