Yeah we know that statement was false b/c when the 2nd son got suspended from UCLA Lavar quickly went to plan B. Every good businessman have back-up plans, not bc of failures but for different routes in attaining the original goal Plan A was set up to accomplish
While that sounds good on paper...in reality that's a terrible ideology. It's severely irrational not to calculate the potential of failure and have a backup plan regardless
TruthxAR for me i took it as, don't rely on the fact you have a plan b to distract you to be 100% in your first goal. I think alot of times ppl be like well if that doesn't happen, it's okay because i have this & you should be like no, I'm going to find ways to make plan A happen because it has to.
crashlong might want to check those numbers again their big dog…You’re off just the air. Not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars of suppliers bills that they haven’t paid for. STILL!!!!!!!!
Lavar Ball sons respect him. There is nothing wrong with guidance. I like seeing that. Why is there a problem with their father giving his children direction? If you are in the military, the drill sergeant gives troops guidance. If employed at a job, you receive a directive from your boss. Let this man lead his sons. Nothing wrong with this at all.
There isn't, but what most including myself are seeing is boys (yes, boys) who are actually incapable of saying or doing anything themselves. Even when answering some simple questions, Liangelo either doesn't understand, can't think of an answer or because he can't think of an answer looks over at his father for it. Even Lavar's approach saying 'I guide them, if the boys choose to go left, all I say is to not cry to me if it goes wrong' - bad parenting... You're meant to help your kids no matter what, show them where they went wrong, live and learn etc... And LaMelo... He basically said nothing, but the same principle applies to him in other things you see him speaking on.
in the interview he literally said that he told his kids "if you go the way i say, you will be successful. If you go your way, thats okay, but dont come crying back to me when it doesn't work out." So pretty much he told them if you don't do what i say you wont be successful, he has clearly manipulated his sons into this "respect"
Dr.Hugiw L Mungus M.D - exactly... Their 'respect' and 'loyalty' is just because they're still at the mental age of 13 where nothing they do is a decision THEY'VE made; entirely dependent on their father
James Stevens yeah, like he gives them the "freedom" to make their own choices, but at the same time he tells them "if you don't do it my way you're gonna fail" and you can tell his kids really believe that
These are stupid comments. I was raised to understand that you’re elders know more than you do. I went my own way at a young age and failed many times. In a black household I’m sure you’ve heard “a hard head makes for a soft ass”. They aren’t speaking that well on the interview but they’re kids. I wasn’t an eloquent speaker as a teenager sometimes it’s best to shut up. He probably knows his kids are bound to say some dumb shit if they get too comfortable lol
I have my disagreements about Lavar, but no one can't say the man isn't in his boys life. I'll go on a limb and say we need more fathers like this, even if they aren't aspiring to be pro athletes. just BE there...
I love the father - son relationship of this family . This father def reminds me of my father ! Strict & can tone it down when need be . This is def a good example of the black family structure ‼️☺️
IsaiahChavezCA Yeah nothing like robbing your kids of high school and college and putting no value on education and everything on basketball and promoting a brand. Not like UCLA was one of the best schools in the country both academically and athletically.
Up until Lonzo got to the Lakers you could say he's been an amazing father helping his kids get scholarships and raising draft stocks. BUT since Lonzos been I. the NBA he's done too many questionable things. Especially for Melo. Gelo could have went a better route and went to a lower tier school and put up numbers and maybe sneak into a second round pick position or walk on to a summer league spot. Melo though, feels like he's fucked, if he doesn't develop the way they want him too and leave the Lithuanian team after a week then he's screwed for basically life cause he ain't playing anywhere else.
DiverseLA Colleges have graduated millions of people who can't find a job, so college doesn't guarantee anything. Having a brand that your parents own, That you can help run is winning...You can continue education at home, anytime...Running your own is better...Most of college is a waste of money, taking classes that you don't need. It is a rip off. A lot of the degrees won't land you a job, but one can say I went to this big school.
When you're a Black man that cant be controlled.....they will try to take you down. I respect Lavar Ball even more after this interview. Missing an education? You clearly have no clue about being a college student athlete. They practice and work on their craft constantly. They rarely take challenging courses that interfere with their sport. Thanx for the likes tho 😂
1. They are young 2. Many NBA players don't know how to give interviews 3. It is a skill and a talent that can be developed. They needed to be there it was free publicity. This man is helping to change basketball behind the scenes and he has been a huge influence for his sons. They will become polished, it will just take time
Lavar is the average black dad who is active in his kids life. He suppose to say his kids the best and be hard on them. America just never seen a good black dad in the media
Much respect for Lavar Ball! He's a great Dad, great husband, head of household and great business man! I watch the show and I love it! Loved this interview❤❤❤
Adam Firstman lol,I was the same way when I was a teen,I wouldnt have said much, because I was young and wouldnt have cared enough to talk,I'll let someone else do the talking, while I think about $$$ and bitches, but seriously once they hit they"re20s they would be able to hold they're own

Maybe back in the day that’d be true or in certain situations or areas, but in general that’s not the perspective at all. Most confident black dudes like 2Pac, MLK, Obama, etc get universal respect from all races. It’s 2017 and though it’s not quite equal in terms of race, from a mixed raced brother from the UK let’s not paint blacks as the victim just because of the past. Same thing Lil Wayne was saying about BLM, albeit on a larger scale in that context
Charlagname : Coming from the hood how hard is it turning down the big deals that im sure they've offered you. Lavar : Is not hard when you have a vision. #POWEROFTHEMIND
If he had interviews like this nobody would hate him. When he comes out and says his son will lead UCLA to the National championship and then when they lose turn around and say they couldn't really win anyways because of how many "slow unathletic white players" were on the team, those are the types of things he gets hated for.

Rasheed Bailey I hear you. I hope Lonzo does well. If you get a chance, check out the barz on my channel. If you rock with it, hit subscribe! Would appreciate that a lot 🙏🙏🙏💯
Hell, I wish my dad was like this. If we lost a game, it was like fire and gasoline, tore us down, but that made us all extra supportive to our kid's. Lavar is definitely a father that's needed, especially these kid's nowadays!
bruh they looked so tired. Lamelo looked like he just got out bed. Gelo looks like he's tired being asked a whole bunch of questions. Lavar looks like he could interview all day.
Down Hill I feel where you are coming from and you have every reason to feel that Lavar maybe exploitive of his children. But honestly people never really look at it from the ball brothers point of view. Lets say that your Lonzo ball, your dad raised and coached you and your siblings to be excellent ball players. Then you and your two brothers are the reasons why chino hills is even recognized as an elite basketball school. And then you after only one year at UCLA make it to the NBA. And regardless what you think of Lavar, Lonzo, Gelo, and Melo wouldn't even have the stardom they have now if it wasn't for their loudmouth father. Not only that, they are business partners with their mother and father, that is growing fast off the successes of their basketball career. So as long as Lonzo keeps playing well and getting better as a player, and Liangelo and Lamelo do good overseas. BBB is here to stay and grow. Also, Lonzo is a grown ass millionaire, if he felt his dad goals and business was bs, he could've signed his own shoe deal if he wanted too. So that just shows you how much trust and faith Lonzo has for his family brand. But I won't shit you for thinking otherwise
If they started at 6am then it's 3am on their time. It takes a while to adjust to the time difference. Most kids can barely get up at 7 for school, it's a bit cruel to be up at 3am.
Malysa Sin Malysa Sin they where in new york for a while for Lonzo's game and the pop-up shop. Plus the breakfast is something that has to be planned in advanced since they're a lot of high profile celebs that get interviewed on the show. So its not like Lavar and the boys planned all of this stuff the day of. So it would've common sense to get enough sleep to do an almost hour interview early in the morning if it was scheduled in advance like most interviews are.
"There is no plan B, because if You're 80% in plan A, then you're 20% in plan B. Don't be mad when you don't make it because you worried about a fallback plan" 💯
tony lee west they act like they’ve been locked in a room and beat for 10 yrs. not one of them can speak for than a few words at a time. They seem like nice kids but dang they do seem slow lol
Because he's a strong black man. His sons wouldn't be on this earth if it wasn't for him, let alone playing sports. When they win so does he. That's how its suppose to be.
King Treal that is the dunbest reason ever. None of is would be here is not for our parents...doesn't mean we owe then anything and certainly not for them to make poor decisions for us. He is self-serving clown that is throwing away great opportunities for his son's based on his own personal emotions.
At first I didn't wanna watch this interview because of all the stuff I heard and read about him on Instagram but after watching this interview I'm glad I watch it it's was a great interview
He gives them good guidance. He has a vision, he lived the life and the perfect person to guide them. I love how he stated his boys are teenagers and there is no need to scrutinize him...
@@vincentkalaba9676 its more getting comfortable because they’ve given better interviews especially Melo. Add in their Father is such a personality; you tell they Were just use to taking a backseat. Even Lonzo is giving better interviews
I dont understand how people are upset that this MAN is raising his children to be reliant on someone who can fire them one day... We need more fathers like him... Ijs..
Allthemadness _ cause he is obnoxious and rude and arrogant raising his sons to be confident that is beautiful but his self righteous attitude is down right shameful
Allthemadness _ I respect the confidence he instills in his sons...if he's not saying they're the best players in the world then all the public hate will eventually get in their head! What I don't agree with is his refusal to accept any criticism or opposition...your son made a stupid mistake so let him sit down and take the punishment then get back to chasing his dreams don't move him out of the country and teach him to not be accountable for his actions that's pretty extreme 🤔
I appreciate the fact that this man is just trying to make a better life for them he may not have had and direct them in the right way to take that gift and skill to play that ball and use it to the best for there lifestyle
If more black DAD's were like that we would have less single black women raising there kids on there own... And with discipline....wish I had a DAD like that.... Props brother...
There’s a lot Black Dads like that. In this case, LaVar chose his wife and planned to have those kids. So of course he’ll be involved like this. There’s a lot of lost men with misdirection and no agenda thus the reason for this epidemic of missing fathers in children’s lives. But it’s a two-way street and black women deserve some blame to for choosing these lost men to breed with. That’s the sad reality.
F And statistically most white women that date black are single mothers actually.. Even more than black women so its actually us black men that need to do some self-reflection.
