I was incredibly lucky to get to see Laverne speak at my university many years ago. She is so wonderful and lovely, and I know that myself and every other trans person I know are so incredibly grateful for her making our community more visible.
For these teachable moment, I love that. Too many times people answer questions, but not all questions are acceptable. The beauty of Laverne Cox, the soul, is a shining example of how to be genuine and loving to everyone

I wonder why they would need her to be more butch in her pre-transition role, ofc she wasn't butch, she was playing a trans woman, she's a woman throughout the whole journey. But you know it was 2013, less understanding on the topic I guess
TRANSform Me was ahead of its time. Could it have been handled with more respect for the real life experiences of transwomen? Yup. Was it still (pardon the ironic pun) ballsy? Yup.
