The Squirmy Worm is an artificial with a silicon tail, for multi-purpose use. In fresh water you can use both fly and light spinning to catch trout, chub, bass, perch, but also carp and barbel, so it is tied on jig hook so that it works reverse and can be bounced on the bottom. I tie it in size #10 in order to have a hook with very strong thread to catch fish of big size. In the version with hook from saltwater it can also be used for light rock fishing at sea in both fly and spinning. Unlike so many squirmy worms that you see on the market, I put it on by putting the rubber on the hook, without crushing it with the thread, which risks cutting it or in any case making it a few times eaten. To make it stay on the hook, as you can see in the picture, I create a stopper on the curvature of the hook with mounting thread and a little drop of uv glue.
