@@elementeight8 For real. My consolation is hearing that all sheriffs in the state were invited, only three showed up and they came from the north (not local). One said he was totally surprised that they had this publicity spot instead of a closed-door round-table discussion as was hinted at in the invitation. I don't know whether that was a clever cover-up for an unpopular move or whether it was a sincere statement. I prefer to think they were bamboozled. But at least they seem to be getting a lot of flack for it, which they should.

Additionally, people tend to forget that a lot of what we have in this country is funded by our taxes. Public parks? Libraries? Infrastructure? Schools? I used to be a uniformed public servant (emptied trash cans and cleaned toilets for the National Park Service). We were told in no uncertain terms not to EVER wear our uniforms to a political event. It was considered grossly inappropriate.

Law enforcement officers showing their political affiliation is so wrong... all people in place of power that is NOT political should NOT show who they support. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who they support, they should apply the law equally regardless of who others support. This sends the wrong message... stupid police. But then again... why didn't I expect any better from America police... they are the worst most violent police force in the world why doesn't it surprise me some would align themselves with a proven man who supports violence as a means of maintaining power.

Cops aren't known for being morally pure little angels. Most are men, which may act as a boundary to empathy with rape victims. Some may even think our definition of rape needs reverted to the 1950's.
