I love this episode because Barba realized that the only way to win was not to fight. He saw that both sides were extreme and out for blood, and using him as a tool for their own agenda. So he decided that he won't be a tool for politics, he would shut both down at the same time, by deciding that he wasn't going to play the game.

This episode was brilliant. Not only did Barba know they really had no evidence, he also knew the case was too politically charged. Platt's, Varchinsky's, and Cobb's testimonies were too strong politically and this episode highlighted both extremes are a dangerous thing.

Stabler would probably punch out Stone eventually. Barba would show BOTH Novak and Cabot a thing or two. (And I'm not talking about sexually. So get your mind out of the gutter if you thought that.) And Barba and Stabler would be confrontational from time to time. But what would've happened if Stabler met Carisi or Amaro?

John The Sports Archivist No one’s mind was in the gutter first of all. It’s a simple interaction between the ADAs about the laws. They’re all smart, but Barba would call out some of their BS. I think Stabler and Carisi would get along. Carisi is about getting the bottom of things as far as catching criminals. So does Amaro, but Amaro is a hothead. It’s be interesting with both. What if Stabler met Hank Voight or Alvin Olinsky?

Rogue Dr4g0nite come on almost every week the right is grossly mischaracterized as almost militant, like that right wing t.v. commentator that was raped, as long as i remember there are wise cracks against conservatives then occasionally a harmless cheesy retort against liberals in an embarrassing attempt to make it seem fair, like I said I don't say this with any satisfaction. I've been wattching these episdes from the nineties along with criminal intent which I thought was far better writing and acting. It's a shame they couldn't keep that show on, but just my opinion. I wonder if this has something to do with the episode where Barba got suspended? For giving the heroin addict money knowing she was going to buy drugs? Then she got on the stand and nailed the "really bad man". That is when Rafael told Olivia what he did was wrong but he would do it again? Therefore, Jack McCoy shows up saying I believe "I will not just let what you did go"? Something to that effect. Only reason for Jack McCoy to be there. I love this show and Barba brought it back to life. I will stop watching it if they do. He makes the show. I really like Benson, but lately it is like the show should just be called SVUBenson. It is like she is in every single scene. My take. I hope I am wrong as Jack McCoy never backs down. Ever. So I was freaked too! LOL.. Still am.

The jury was already biased because of the witness. There was no way he was going to win the case. Either of them could have done it. Barba doesn't know if he's putting a man behind bars because of a woman's political views.

I love this type of scenes on a court TV show because it’s what people wish it could happen in real life during the cross examination the attorney can only ask questions and not add his/her opinion is a big no-no. If that happens the judge immediately is going to stop the procedure. Call the attorney to approach the bench and tell and give an advice to stop the behavior because he might not like the person that he or she is cross-examination and just use facts.

A far-right female conservative speaker was raped at a rally that clashed with far-left anti-fascists. When brought in multiple suspects, the rape victim automatically points out to one of the anti-fascists without hesitation. However, there are implications that suggest that the rape victim was assaulted by one of her supporters (the man with glasses on the stand). The tragedy of the situation is that both sides are so warped by their beliefs and hatred for the opposite side, neither are willing to be truthful; they only cared about taking the other side down.
