Law was my favorite one piece character before I even meant him From playing jump force and pw3. He's dripped tf out, badass title, cool/unique powers and one of my favorite voice actors.

Don’t forget bounties are just how much the world government sees you as a threat. Someone with a big bounty might be that way bc of what they know (think kid Robin) while someone with a small bounty could be super strong but rarely gets into fights

Law's DF power is one of the most OP ever!! And iIt's crazy how much Jack managed to figure it out just from that small interaction.

The main reason that Kidd has a larger bounty than Luffy is that while he didn't do anything as outlandish or spectacular as taking down warlords or attacking Enis Lobby, he cut a bloody path through his own route on the Grand Line and was way more vicious and bloodthirsty, actually killing marines and not caring about collateral damage

I think they said a few episodes back that kids bounty isn’t due to him doing anything particularly remarkable but kid has no problem killing innocent people which is why his bounty is so high.

The nicknames of the three admirals are all color+animal, with the animals alluding to a Japanese fairy tale. (In the story, a boy born from a giant peach, Momotaro, defeats a group of ogres with the help of three beasts he had befriended) So Aokiji is "blue pheasant", KIzaru is "yellow monkey", and Akainu is "red dog".

I love that Doflamingo makes an appearance back here, Oda really gave us a slow drip brew on him as a villain.

I remember everyone going crazy on how Laws power works back then and you just casually drop "Oh so kinda turns you into Buggy" "so he creates a room to manipulate Bodyparts and stuff". These 2 sentences are so simple and to the point, they would have saved a lot of fans headaches back then xD So yeah to say it a bit more "professional" the Surgeon Of Death creates his operating room to freely operate in.

I don't think it has dawned on Jack yet what Rayleigh being the Vice Captain of the Roger Pirates really means. It means that Rayleigh knows what One Piece is and where it is and that he knows everything about it! In fact, he has never asked himself that if Shanks and Buggy were Roger's crewmates, then they should know everything about One Piece too!!

About the *-ya* form of adressing some people that Law uses: Straight from the source, from SBS Volume 62: _In the past in Japan, maybe around Edo era? There was a thing called “yago”. If for example in a village you had two people called Tomekichi, folks would use -ya instead of their names to refer to them (by their trade), such as “Tomekichi the toolshop (doguya)” or “Tomekichi the cooper (okeya)”._ So like you would say someone who bakes is a baker, you turn a trait of theirs into a description of them. Or in this case, "Mugiwara-ya" as his defining trait. Though Law uses it with names as well. It's something that signifies a certain distance between him and whoever he adresses, without relying on a polite honorific like -san, for instance. Looking up the Wikipedia article for "Yagō" might help understanding it too. :D

The Flying Fish Riders referring to Franky as the Panties Guy cracked me up. When I learned about Haki in this episode, I actually did research to understand it beter and boy was I shocked with all the possible applications.

No way you can even begin to comprehend the full extent of Law’s power from this episode. I remember watching it for the first time and being absolutely mind blown by it. It gets crazy; easily the most unique and creative devil fruit in the show imo. (Of ones that matter)

To basically sum up Law's DF: Think of the "Room" as a operating room in a hospital. It takes the idea that a surgeon is in total control of his operating room and cranks it to the extreme. There's a reason he's called the "Surgeon of Death".

Love how this episode foreshadows what happens in Punk Hazard via Doflamingo, but in a way that NO ONE without context would be able to realize.

You just never payed enough attention to notice the young black haired character wearing the hat first is a young Gol D. Roger

When Law unsheaths his sword you know he's taking it seriously. Right now he's just playing.

You've probably been told this before but bounties don't always reflect a characters overall power, but rather the threat potencial the goverment sees them as. A character could have a relatively high bounty but other people with lower bounties could easily body them. Remember how Robin had a 80 mil bounty as a 8 year old? That didn't reflect how strong she was, but her dangerous she was because she could read the Poneglyphs. There are a ton of characters who's bounty don't really reflect their actual strengh. You could for instance have the head of mercenary group that is kinda weak, but has under him a lot of strong underlings, so because his organisation is such a dangerous force, they give him the leader a bounty that reflects that danger threat, even though they are weak by themselves.

Just for info, Aokiji in japanese mean Blue Pheasant , Kizaru is Yellow Monkey, Akainu is Red Dog

You have to think about the fact that other pirates such as kid may have been out at sea for years to rack up that bounty. Luffys bounty itself isnt CRAZY high, the impressive part is the speed at which it goes up thanks to his feats. Also very impressive how fast/accurate you analyzed laws powers shown.

Law's "speech tick" of the -ya at the end is actually kinda interesting. It is normally used in conjuntion with a profession, so when we say "Bob the builder" japanese people would say "Bob building-ya" basically. In the german version of One Piece at least it is translated with "Herr", meaning "Sir" or "Lord", so he's actually a lot more polite over here xD

Basically law is a God within his room, he can control everything within it except people with insane haki, but basically he can teleport, take people's organs, swap things around, even swap bodies around people. He can take out their heart, he can create a gamma knife inside his room, he can do so much within his room

His abilities are really powerful and almost makes him a god in his “surgical room”. However it wears him out really fast so he can’t do it for long

This punch is the most satisfying punch in anime for me. Hachi apologizing after getting shot always makes me tear up

5:30 -ya is an honorific that means "the person that has whatever I said before" or "the person that does whatever I said before". So, a baker could be "bread-ya" (or actually "pan-ya"), or someone who always wears a blue ribbon could be "aoinju-ya" same way Luffy is "Mugiwara-ya"

The answer to Kids bounty being higher than Luffys has already been talked about. The navy has been downplaying Luffys exploits because they are so disruptive to the system. They dont want to advertise 2 warlords falling and a full on invasion of the justice island so Luffys bounty is surpressed. But they are more than happy to call out Kid murdering civillians. Thus, Luffy is lower than he should be and Kid is higher than him

while bounty can be rough indication of power, in reality its just how much government is willing to pay for their head. For example Robin getting 79m bounty as kid just of the knowledge she possessed. It doesn't mean she as small king was stronger than Arlong etc it just means government wanted her dead. Same here Kidd's bounty is mainly higher because he is aggressive and harms civilians, he might also be stronger than Luffy but the bounty is higher not because of that.
