To the people who balk at the price, I'd say this: Obviously it's not an item which is intended for the broadest audience. However for those who are willing to pay for certain perks, it's worth it. A 9" AAC MPW is pretty cool, but with a folding stock? There are no words. Even with such a short barrel, a fully assembled SBR with adjustable stock takes up a fair amount of room; until now, the best *discrete* options were to either separate the upper from the lower, stick it in a tennis bag, or buy the Noveske SBR bag -- for $200. I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay $200 for this product and gain the ability to put a fully assembled rifle in anything. A small, everyday backpack, for example.
Once the entire unit is installed for field stripping, besides punching both pins and removing the upper, couldn't you just push the button on the adapter to release the bolt and draw the entire bolt carrier group out the back of the unit as opposed to wrenching off the adapter that locks onto bolt carrier group?
I would not add this to an ar15. However id consider adding this to a ptr91 or similar rifle / pistol. Seems better suited to a weapon that dose not actually require the use of the buffer tube
so 200 bucks without a installation tool provided and its only for storage purposes. honestly if you life in a state that you can get NFA items just get a 10.3" and call it a day.
Incorrect. The Blocking finger automatically holds the extension and BCG from moving if fired "on accident". However you should be very concerned about where the bullet is going that you fired "on accident".
Law Tactical Would that little latch stop it from flying out with that kind of hit? Also, if the locking screw for the extension got loose and it turned a little could it get past the latch and more importantly would it jam up the rifle?
Law Tactical btw the accident I was imagining would be jumping out of a vehicle with a folded stock while under fire and not getting the stock locked in all the way under stress...
BigChiefWiggles V I’d imagine if it keeps the carrier from moving it you basically created a failure to cycle /extract and have brass stuck in the chamber and likely need to butt stroke the ground while pulling the charge handle to remove the spent case. I assume it would eventually damage the button but you could probably get one shot off if your life was on the line.
nice concept but 200 bucks? you gotta but fucking kidding me!!! You can build an ar15 for 500 bucks now adays so 200 for a folding little metal piece is way too much!
Umm... Cant be fired with stock folded. Not gonna work for most people. I guess its a good idea for transport but all you really need to do on a AR is to just pull the take down pins and put it in a small case. The AR is not a good candidate due to the long bolt carrier. Some AR makers have true side folding stocks that can be fired with the stock folded but they are generally expensive. I hate to be the guy how forgets and fires this with the stock folded.... It will probably not only injure you but you could destroy your rifle. This kits seems dangerous to me unless this kit comes with a sear block when in the folded position... Which it doesn't
