So yes, families were separated during the Obama administration and this Congressman's demagoguery does not help the situation. The current administration is operating off current law brought about by a left leaning circuit court during the previous administration, yet has not made such a fuss when the decision came about. If THAT isn't lying, then I don't know what is; lying about what standards you will place no matter who sits in the Oval Office. When you walk out especially as a person of color you are saying it was ok when so many did that to those during the civil Rights movement. Lots of people turned their back and walked out when the first person of color spoke in the house. Sends the wrong message. I took it more as a masogynist move.. thereissomecoolstuff RESPECT? That no longer Exist with this administration. Republicans had made a mockery of of the constitution that our forefather put in place. They took an oath to tell the truth as a member of Congress but they have abused the system and now they think they are above law. That floor is no longer a place of justice or a law of assemblies. This administration deserves nothing more than a cold shoulder and that is what required until we get a real house of assemblies members.

@merch marine It would be interesting to learn more about the circumstances of your grandparents emigrating. One of my grandparents was escaping terrible poverty and pogroms in Europe. Americans helped her get settled within days. She was penniless, knew no English, and had no technical skills. It was compassion that brought her here, not a long application process. I do not believe you know the full circumstances of your ancestors emigration. Ah, and my great-grandmother contributed to 9 college-educated, highly competent Americans serving this nation - including me. I am proud of her. The only difference between my great-grandmother and these migrants is skin color.
