Agreed and I’ll be honest I am so happy that they let Clyde shine for basically 75% of this song before Gracie even sang a word out of ensemble. Really let us vibe with him and enjoy his skill and passion as a musician.
“Oranges,” from Homesick gets a lot of audience requests at shows and the EP contains “So Damn Fast” which opens Lawrence’s 2nd live album, but “Columbus Ave” is Clyde at his most earnest, and “Hall-Crossed Lovers” is an absolute banger that deserves a full Lawrence arrangement w/horns. Homesick is definitely worth your time and money.
They tend to wait a lil bit, but ultimately end up putting all their acoustic-ish versions on Spotify. Their jam in the van performance is there, even.
Wow - you guys give me encouragement that real, incredibly talent-rich, well-written, deeply meaningful, soulful music is still being written and performed. It’s awesome and this music nerd truly appreciates it.
@@halcyonacoustic7366yes I saw them!! Headline arena tour. Millions of followers, more radio play. Huge like the Jonas brothers, Dua lipa, Gaga . That kind of huge haha
They're not willing to compromise the band's integrity for the easier path. Music industry is known for holding people down, who just want to do their own thing.
I just found your band last week while watching Lake Street Dive & it happened at just the right time. I posted this song to my wife’s Facebook page for our anniversary today. She loved it too!
i adore Gracie's voice, but its super nice that Clyde took the lead on this one. I cannot get enough of his performance and piano skills. Every member of Lawrence is just stupidly talented and i'm grateful to be alive in a time where they get to make this music for us all.
Clyde is like if Ray Charles, John Mayer, and Randy Newman had a baby. Just crazy voice, crazy talented. And then Gracie? JFC. Lawrence needs to be, deserves to be the biggest band in the world.
I really love that you go around and credit all the backup singers and band with tags for where to find them. That’s a really cool thing to do that most artists don’t.
If this isnt a 90s sitcom opening credits aong, i dont know what is. Picturing the whole cast smiling at the camera during a candid "caught ya" moment.
I noticed that one young lady had a hyphenated last name of Stewart-Frommer. In the early 70's in Northern California, I played with a drummer named Gary Frommer, who had played with Stan Getz prior to our meeting. He was a master musician and tought me many things about music and life. I wonder if there may be a connection. You guys just blow me away. Great energy and soul. You young people are steeped in the Blues wheather you know it or not. Thank you all so much.
I very sadly lost almost everything and everyone I had in life. I went from an angry man to a lost, sad man but then reunited with someone so special. Now I'm a man deeply in love & appreciative of life. Inspired and reignited and positive and thankful. I'm old enough to be everyone in this videos dad lol!! what resonates for me, "Good - good - good - goodbye! To the guy I used to be To the life I used to lead Because now I see You're the only thing that matters to me"
Similar story here Vin. Over 50. Lost a lot. But okay at the moment. So I feel ya. Glad you're in a good place. Music really saves us sometimes doesn't it? Hang in there brother. Thanks for sharing. ❣
There is an obscene amount of talent in that room. I love that they make sure to showcase ALL OF IT, EVERY TIME. Great to listen to, but even better to experience the love and appreciation in every one of these "acoustic-ish" videos. Thanks, @lawrencetheband
This is real music real people making real connections playing real instruments feeling real emotions and putting it into their music! Its what music is supposed to be people getting together and making art that connects people together and makes you feel something not some music that a guy made in front of a computer by himself using a program or some random people that just write a song for you that you have no connection to! Music like this makes me happy because it shows me that the art of making music with actual people and actual instruments is still around and it gives me hope!!
Commenting a third time just to say that Clyde is a SAVANT. I've tried to disect as much as my pea brain can, and the quality of this arrangement gets higher with every listen. BRAVO!
One month in, and this deserves far more than 195k views. When I'm not watching these videos, I'm watching people's reactions to them for the first time-then I'm right back to watching them again myself. Clyde's incredible songwriting, singing, and musical arrangements, combined with Gracie's unparalleled vocals and the exceptional talent of everyone involved, create a true masterclass in the magic of music.
No lie...it was Clyde's voice on the Microsoft Ad that sent me searching for "Don't Lose Sight". Gracie was the sweetest bonus. But, everyone in this ensemble gives me chills. Let's bring back real music like this. PLEASE❤💯
Acoustic-ish is such an inventive and creative addition to the Music industry. Lawrence are pioneering the exciting, playful, and captivating performance of their great music in acoustic-ish form❤
I thought I had seen all the acoustic-ish videos, and then Watcha Want dropped today! It brought me here! I got a Lawrence Two-fer! This made my entire week! I love you guys! This is a lot of exclamation points, but you all do that to me!
I tear up every time i listen to any of these acoustic versions. Everyone's energy is is electrifying and really shows how much fun everyone is having. But also ITS FUCKING INCREDIBLE! eveyones voices are so unique but blends BEAUTIFULLY together! I will see you love at some point! ❤❤❤
