I find these can be easier if you simplify inside the parentheses first, before applying the exponent outside the parentheses. The numbers you are dealing with will be a lot smaller.
Thank you so. Much my teacher cant twach it so well so why I got 0 from all of my quizes and thats bad thing so i got an Idea to search and look for some of this now I can understand well thx❤
When your teacher says, “You are really paying attention in class.” This is what I want to say to her, “Stop taking the credit, my RU-vid friend is the reason for my success!” 😂
thanks you sooooooo much........................................................................................................................................
A number has an understood power of 1 if there is no other exponent shown, for example 5 is really 5^1, it is just an understood 1 so we don't typically see it written. I like to show it for my examples to help explain what is happening.
U very good in explaning, thanks. But why don't u just multiply the exponent directly, instead of inserting a "1" constantly to the numbers in the parentheses?
Thank you for the compliment! I like to show the understood "1" written because it gives a better understanding of how we are getting the resulting answer. For example, on #2 many student struggle with how we get an answer of 8 to the 3rd power instead of either just 8 or maybe 24 (if they multiply 8(3) which I see a lot in the classroom). You can absolutely skip this step it you have the foundational knowledge. A lot of teacher skip over this information and while it is faster, it can also leave some learners behind. When I teach a topic on my video channel I try to show all the steps to give a full explanation of what is actually happening. I hope this answers your question! Thanks for watching!
We use FOIL if we are multiplying a binomial by a binomial (aka a two-term multiplied by a two-term), for example: (x+2)(x+4) #3 is showing a monomial multiplied by a monomial (aka a one-term multiplied by a one-term). Even though they have 2 variables, those two variables are not separated by a + or - so they are one term each Here is my video on FOIL if you want to learn more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FFOvBAmHwmw.html
