It would be prudent for future developments to protect their communities with fairly tall stone walls and to ensure all domestic areas have a wide firebreak of non flammable materials surriunding their homes. Prairie fires regardless of how it initiates are a fact of life in such a land. Today maybe it's a company but tomorrow it could be dry lightning or an arsonist. I wonder why these companies don't solve this problem by burying the cables?

Wildfires burn the turf. You have to dig an actual ditch down below the topsoil to create firebreaks. That’s sometimes a couple meters down in the prairie.

@@Justmekpc What conspiracy? It was a statement..Due tell us your take on this is.....I work for a power company and have spent many a night putting lines back up..Wind doesnt knock them down. Its ususually a tree, tree limb or car that takes them down. During storm season we can see hundreds of lines down in a month without any fires. But its not a very dry environment here. There is no technology to stop lines from coming down other than burying the cable using padmount switches and transformers. An economically feasable method in areas with dense populations. Out west where a tap line can go for miles to energize 1 home it would be a very expensive venture for the customer. A power company doesnt have to put those lines up unless they believe they will be compensated in a timely manner by how much energy the customer uses.... If I remember correctly the pole they pointed out in Maui by the news company ( dont know what the invesigator came up with if anything) there were no down trees or limbs.

You do realize that climate change is the reason why this fire is so big. Climate change doesn't start fires, but the drier and more arid climate means that fires will be more frequent and when they do start the will be bigger. Texas averages 9,000 wildfires every year, and the reason why this one is the largest one in Texas' history is because of climate change.

Here’s another fun fact. The district attorneys job when selecting a special prosecutor is to place the best, most qualified individual in the position, the best. Mr. Wade has an outstanding CV and is actually over qualified for this role, but he’s the best at what he does. It doesn’t matter if the choice is the DA’s husband, lover, whatever. Did the person obtain the appointed position while being under qualified, due to a personal relationship. Unequivocally no. Is Trump’s lawyers motion to dismiss denied? Yes.
