The new lawsuit seeks class-action status and more than $5 million in damages for students who paid full Spring 2020 tuition and fees. STORY: www.khou.com/a...
These universities still have the audacity to charge full tuition for half the education and experience. I agree with the students. This past year shows how crooked these universities and colleges are. They are money hungry and that is it. Salaries can be paid with the tuition it is the wasteful spending that is the problem. Universities are saving money in other areas that they would normally spend on housing students as well as providing that campus experience
Many universities provide online learning and the tuition is the same as on campus and rightfully so. The professors need to get paid, technology equipment and services need to be upgraded, etc. Now, if they are charging for the gym and it's closed for the semester, they are wrong for that and should issue a refund or a partial one.
These students will rely on alumni support after graduation for employment referrals, graduate school recommendations, and mentorships. Suing Rice will jeopardize much needed assistance. Alumni have long memories.
