33:47 that’s not what happened. the meeting in chambers happened when melnick (copeland’s original male attorney) was on his vacation. the female attorney, bumpass, covered melnick on that day and was pulled into the ex parte meeting. bumpass, the female attorney for copeland, was the one who was present for the ex parte meeting. bumpass was only supposed to be representing copeland for the limited purpose of defending him on contempt. the contempt issue was resolved when copeland got back on the stand and started testifying, so she moved for withdrawal. melnick, the original male attorney, was still attorney of record for copeland. the big picture issue here is that the judge and DA waited until copeland’s original attorney was out of the state to take advantage of the fact that only his temporary attorney, Bumpass, was there for them to have this coercive meeting.

@@kenyadacollins3143 hes broken a ton of rules and laws at this point. the main one, though, is that he had an improper ex parte communication. as a general rule, a judge cannot communicate with one party to a matter (here, the prosecution) without involving the other party (the defense). that’s called ex parte communication. there are extremely limited circumstances where its acceptable, but even in those circumstances, the judge has to give advance notice to the other party so they can have an opportunity to argue about why they should be permitted to be there. if not, the judge needs to notify them after the fact, including notifying them if the substance.

In this trial, there are FREQUENT instances of unexplained delays. For example, 5-minute breaks, that end up being 30 to 90 minute delays. Or 8:30am starts times, but the judge (and prosecution) doesn't show up until 11:00. We know about this one ex parte meting, however the Judge and Prosecution acted as if there was nothing wrong with ex parte meetings like this. @laurenturner3578 She has shown herself to be completely incompetent when it comes to actually being a judge. She has had a few cases invalidated because she made mistakes on basic procedures. That's before even getting into the cases involving Trump. With Trump, there has been a pattern of Smith making a motion, citing the relevant law. Cannon rules against him. Smith makes a motion for reconsideration, citing the relevant law again. Cannon reverses and scolds Smith for not stating the relevant law in the initial motion even though he cited the relevant law in the original motion. Plenty of Trump's judicial appointees have shown themselves to be good, competent judges. Cannon has not.

Law licenses need to be brought before the State Bar and lost over these actions at the very least. This is a prime example of what should not and will not be tolerated in our legal profession/system. If this Judge and State Prosecutors are allowed to continue to practice law, it sends the message that corruption is acceptable and no defendant should expect a fair trial. This is beyond ridiculous…
