Our Work Process:
1. Come up with questions, research, script, come up with opinions/commentary, polish until ready for recording.
2. Record voice acting the stories/questions, sharing thoughts and opinions and performing it in a creative and transformative fashion for viewers to enjoy.
3. Record gameplay until there is enough interesting footage to use for the background
4. Throw the gameplay in the editing software and then begin typing up the captions, cutting/trimming the voice acting, adding SFX, color correction, removing/adding clips, etc.
5. Final review of the video, if video is not up to the quality desired for this channel. Either go back into the editing software, re-record some lines, change opinions/commentaries.

I just found out that if my uncle dies before his cat does I will become the new owner. He adores his cat and wanted to make sure he gives him to someone that will love him just as much. I guess I'm the only niece he finds up to the task.

My dad didn't write a will before passing, but there's one thing he always said. We acknowledged it, but since we weren't legally obligated to do it, we preferred giving him more respect than that.... "When I die, toss me in a garbage bag, throw it in the wheely bin outside and roll it to the curb" Love you so much, dad

Ive said something similar, just do it in most ecologic and/or economic way. If it means burying my ashes in a rusty tin can or a cardboard box (Im from a country where spreading or keeping ashes isnt really an option), Im more than cool with it. Nothing extra, no fuss. So I totally get what your dad meant, and my condolences. Crappy part of growing up, losing parents.

My dad was the same-- left no will, but at every funeral we attended, he'd just mumble "I don't need any of this crap; you can just put me in a cardboard box and be done with it." I still have him in the box from the crematorium, so hopefully he'd approve 😅

Leaving $1 so you can't claim to have been forgotten in error is standard advice you learn in law school. It isn't always necessary, depending on the state. But wills are all about coming up with unlikely scenarios and making sure you account for them. So it is often in there if you want to make sure.

Story 2: The law against perpetuities means that the city doesn't legally have to do that. But it sounds like a good addition to the park.

There's a similar stipulation for Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. If the city ever starts charging for access, the Pike family gets the land back

my stepfather was always annoyed I was smarter than he was (I was tested in school...it's the real deal). his will stated Steve gets nothing, he's smart and doesn't need money. it was $100,000 he gave to granddaughter instead.

Second hand, but I heard one where one of the sons was left "...the contents of the box under the maple tree if you get to it first." This guy instantly ran out of the house, missing the part where the daughter was left "...all the farming equipment including the shovels." Really big FU.

I've only done a few wills. But one of them, the crazy woman wanted to make sure her clothes got donated to charity... ALL her clothes. She wanted it to specify that her underwear would be donated too. She wanted me to find a place that would take them. Lady, NOBODY will take that. I specified in the will that they'll be donated. When she dies (given how long ago, she likely already has) the executor will have to offer and then when the charity says no, they'll throw them out then when it's too late for her to argue.

Story ten: that’s weird that he was still allowed the trust funds. Usually there’s something called a slayer rule where the beneficiary cannot get anything from the estate if they killed the deceased. Also, look up Charles Vance Millar and what he did with his trust and will. Dude was loaded but had no family members to leave anything to so he opted to just be a massive troll with how he doled out his stuff. The most infamous incident was the Great Stork Derby in Toronto but there were a lot of shenanigans in that estate.

Story 5: Why would they expect the lawyer to tell him to leave his grandchildren out of the will? Maybe they weren’t scattered to the winds when he wrote it. Doesn’t seem that strange to me. Story 11: Offering someone $1 used to be a common way to prevent contesting a will. If someone leaves money to child 1 and child 2, child 3 could just claim that he was too young when the will was written, and the intent was “all the children.”

with story 5 I would imagine that they were children when written and it was a comfort. he just did not update the will when the children became adults.

Im an artist and we have quite odd relationship with our supplies, sometimes hard for others to understand. They are like family - or even lovers - to us, precious and cared for beyond belief (being inanimate objects). So, a friend put his supplies in his will, making sure they would end up in loving homes after he has departed. I get this and thinking of doing the same; I would die all over again, if my brushes ended up in trash or my more expensive paints went to kindergarten.. this sounds completely ridiculous, I know. Oh, Ive also seen parrots and tortoises included in wills, this is pretty normal for animals that live longer than the owners.

A lawyer once told me that leaving someone $1 is a bad idea. The person can refuse to take the $1 and thus hold up the process of finalizing the will. I'm not a lawyer but ibthink.I see it. If you say, I leave my son Al $1 and the rest of my estate to my daughter sally ... if Am doesn't cash the $1 chevk, now the court doesn't know whether he's still alive. Does sally get $1 million or $1 million and 1 dollars? The whole process could grind to a halt. Better to just say in yourvwill, I leave nothing to Al, so he can't claim you left him.out by mistake but he can't cause trouble over $1.
