Enjoyed the video. Nice operation! I watch alot of farming channels on here, but your the only one ive subscribed to! I have a produce farm as well and i hope to learn alot from you! Top notch operation for sure.
Thanks for the video . I have a really really bad hard time getting my rear disc to effectively cover the plastic with my little plastic layer which is similar to yours but smaller. I usually have to go behind with a shovel and cover plastic. My plastic layer does not have a seat . I till my rows deep and fluffy. Would pre forming my beds work better ?
How do you control weed between the rows ? Last year I made wide rows for watermelons and cantaloupes thinking I could keep up with the weed control. By August the weeds were so thick I could not walk through the watermelon field.
You want to keep the soil under the plastic the same all the time if possible. No big fluctuations in wet and dry. Obviously, the plant needs more water during heavy fruit load. Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what to do. There are guides out there to help with different crops on daily drip watering schedules. It takes a lot of trial and error to know exactly what works best. Soil types play a factor too. Every year is a little different with temps and rainfall changing. Thanks for watching.
